Another great video - I think you're at your best when you cover this obscure stuff, because there's no established narrative so you get to cover it from which ever angle you like. Even Degrassi, which is far from obscure, isn't covered much outside its own fandom circles.
Something that might be fun would be to do a "Where are they now?" segment for child actors of the past that are still in the business. I grew up in the Toronto area, graduated high school in 2013. Everyone in Toronto has some kind of Degrassi-adjacent story. On a day in class when nothing was happening, I was watching a Degrassi episode on my laptop. The guy behind me pointed out one of the extras. The extra was a girl in my grade, in my class, sitting literally 2 rows behind me. And I went to summer camp with the girl who "Kiss and Cry" were based on, as well as her sisters. They were all really sweet. Sarah Fisher also happened to be close friends with the girl, she had a big part in the production of the movie.
honestly i'm so glad that my recent binge back into degrassi led me to your channel. you've become one of my faves. funnily, while i was watching degrassi i made a note of how many actors in degrassi appeared specifically in schitt's creek like.. dan levy, tim rozon, stacey farber, jennifer robertson etc. that could be a fun video idea because i kept catching myself like.. wow they look a young version of "insert schitt's creek character"
My favorite is Emma's two line cameo in Orphan Black. I remember she was in the preview for the episode, and they kinda made it seem like she was gonna be a guest star, but she had an utterly forgettable two line cameo that anyone could have played.
I remember seeing "She's to young". I had just started watching Degrassi next generation 3 years prior, so I was excited to see these characters in other movies after the fact. Considering that I was a teen at the time, I actually loved the movie. I haven't seen it since that one time on TV in 2004.

the most interesting part of film and tv is actors who got enough success from a project to potentially bring in viewers but not enough to be in genuinely good/well funded projects. my guilty pleasure is looking up actors from successful tv shows and seeing who got mainstream success from it and who got screwed over. it’s a depressing habit when you realise how many people are in the “screwed over” jar
One time my parents were watching one of those low budget teen films on Netflix and I swear to god, one of the main characters was none other than the actor for Campbell Saunders and I turned into Tiffany pollard that day. (Someone pls help bc idk what the actors name was, also I don’t even know the name of the movie) Also I really love your content. Might I suggest a video on “Dance Academy”? It’s kinda short to sit through and it was airing alongside Degrassi s11-13 ish on Teen Nick at the time. Would love to see someone talk about that show for once bc it gets just as crazy dramatic as Degrassi.
lol I think that actor is Dylan Everett! yeah so many Degrassi actors show up in those movies. I did start Dance Academy once, I'm currently trying to get through a couple different teen shows but maybe I'll return to it!
The actor from the vampire diaries- she plays the WORST character in The L Word!!!!! Amazing show with lot to unpack you’d make such a great video on it😭
I fervently watch Mayday: Air Disasters, which believe it or not, is about airplane crashes; and imagine how pleased I was to spot both Caitlyn Ryan AND Anya in the same episode. Also, Manny's father is piloting planes that are destined to crash *suspiciously often* .
We are here girl and we love u!!! Ur good af and I love degrassi and also reading so u KNOW WE NEED MORE DEGRASSI! I’d also love a rewatch with u and more tea on WATTPAD and books!
yikes, I just realized how much "She's Too Young" "The Truth About Jane" and "Defending Our Kids: The Julie Posey Story" informed a lot of my teenage anxieties. definitely watched "She's Too Young" for Miriam at the time....and "Julie Posey" for Annie Potts....and "Jane" for Stockard Channing. damn you lifetime! although all three of these movies touched on real-life issues i was facing as a teen in the early 2000s.
Me and a HS/college acquaintance(who I pretty much exclusively communicated with through snapchat) for some reason bonded over “She’s Too Young” and would randomly send each other quotes and clips from it over the years. One time, they just messaged me simply saying “hey I got syphillis lmao” I still wheeze anytime I think about it. (Also they are syphillis free thank u medicine)
i loved when i first started watching degrassi in high school and i recognized all these actors from family channel (basically canadian disney channel) shows like life with derek, wingin it, the latest buzz, overruled, how to be indie, etc. i know you dont want to become a degrassi channel but if you ever wanted to watch some of these shows for a video id be here for it
I came back to comment about a video idea: Ranking Goosebumps episodes. I just watched your Halloween DCOM ranking and feel you could easily do it with Goosebumps.
You KILLED ME with the Sayonara Miles reference is the first Degrassi video you made. Then somehow I was resurrected to enjoy this new masterpiece only to be slaughtered mercilessly by ,yet again ,another Sayonara Miles reference. I cannot stop laughing 😂 👏
I know jake Epstein has always been a working actor since leaving degrassi but I think things are really gonna blow up more for him thanks to his involvement in season 3 of Umbrella Academy
Ronnie's actor was also part of Degrassi Next Generation, but I don't remember his name or in what episode he was in... maybe having something to do with Dave and Alli's illegal gambling !? He was also I'm the 2013 film Carrie... as a side character with only a few lines.
Just a random fact about Kiss and Cry (I know you didn’t focus on it in the video but still interesting) Sarah Fisher was actually best friends with the girl, Carley Allison, she was portraying in the movie.
Omg, I haven't even watched this yet but I LOVE that you're covering She's Too Young. My friend and I saw that movie in high school when it first came out on TV and it was our favorite cringey, over-the-top, fear-mongering Lifetime movie to hate-watch.
I always geek out when I recognize Degrassi stars on shows/movies. Thanks for this video!! Maybe a video on tv shows Degrassi stars have moved into... Like Miriam McDonald and "Sav" in Orphan Black
I have been unintentionally watching movies starring Degrassi stars. I just put on She's Too Young and let it play. I watched Dog Pound starring Spinner (Shane Kippel), Boot Camp starring Mr. Oleander from Degrassi, and Do Not Reply with Lola. There are so many of them! I hope you can include these in your part 3.
the actors who play craig and paige randomly showed up in charlie bartlett and had a combined total of like 10 lines but them coming on screen together blew my mind

I was big into canadian tv in middle school and I was always connecting the Life with Dereck actors to Degrassi to 18 to Life and My Babysitter's a Vampire, it's just so funny how a show becomes obviously canadian bc of the one degrassi actor in it

my guilty pleasure is looking up actors from successful tv shows and seeing who got mainstream success from it and who got screwed over. it’s a depressing habit when you realise how many people are in the “screwed over” jar
One time my parents were watching one of those low budget teen films on Netflix and I swear to god, one of the main characters was none other than the actor for Campbell Saunders and I turned into Tiffany pollard that day. (Someone pls help bc idk what the actors name was, also I don’t even know the name of the movie)
Also I really love your content.
The fact that the captions literally say "Sarah fisher singing loudly, poorly and unintelligibly" 💀🤣
“Julie Posey” is so good, though! I watched it a few weeks ago and it did give my the creeps. Scary stuff!
I also went through a brief stint in watching Lifetime movies. Some even starred actors I saw on Disney Channel
I started watching this and immediately went to 7-11 and got a Baja blast. My world has been rocked.
i really hope someone describes me as "cartoonish-ly evil' one day
i loved when i first started watching degrassi in high school and i recognized all these actors from family channel (basically canadian disney channel) shows like life with derek, wingin it, the latest buzz, overruled, how to be indie, etc. i know you dont want to become a degrassi channel but if you ever wanted to watch some of these shows for a video id be here for it
I came back to comment about a video idea: Ranking Goosebumps episodes.
We watched She’s Too Young in my ninth grade health class when we were learning about STIs. 😂
I know jake Epstein has always been a working actor since leaving degrassi but I think things are really gonna blow up more for him thanks to his involvement in season 3 of Umbrella Academy
yes!! I need to start watching that show, I was so excited to hear he landed a role like that
He was a supporting character in "Designated Survivor" as well, Maggie Q's tech support guy
Thats crazy how fast she blew up, she's beautiful and she have that relaxing vibe im subscribing
the way i also recognized that actress' voice from jenny nicholson's vpd video
Excuse me, you need to watch Mia Kirshner in the L Word. Jenny Schecter is absolutely one of the most wild characters ever created.
i CHOKED seeing that wig, It almost (literally) killed me.!
I've noticed that three Degrassi actors are on Ginny and Georgia (there's characters Sav=Joe, Frankie= Maxine, and Nora= Esme
Between , 2 seasons , a hit tv series a few Degrassi alumni in it. Jordan Todosay (sp), Gregg Kelly, also Jeannette McCurdy from ICarly tv series.
It would be a different story if it was just a song made up by those filmmakers, but one of your faves? That makes it even worse!
Omg, I haven't even watched this yet but I LOVE that you're covering She's Too Young. My friend and I saw that movie in high school when it first came out on TV and it was our favorite cringey, over-the-top, fear-mongering Lifetime movie to hate-watch.
Never saw “They Come Back” OR “The Vampire Diaries” I recognize her from a timeless classic “NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE” 😆
I always geek out when I recognize Degrassi stars on shows/movies. Thanks for this video!! Maybe a video on tv shows Degrassi stars have moved into... Like Miriam McDonald and "Sav" in Orphan Black
me and my boyfriend started degrassi because of your video essay! when we got to the clip from the PMS episode we lost our shit 😭
Another doozy is Newlywed and Dead with Shenae Grimes (aka Darcy)! Some classic Lifetime film shenanigans in that one.
the actors who play craig and paige randomly showed up in charlie bartlett and had a combined total of like 10 lines but them coming on screen together blew my mind
Faith (Mia Kirshner) is not only from The Vampire Diaries, but also most hated character on The L Word.
UA-cam sent me your way after watching Jenny Nicholson's Vampire Diaries video (for the fourth time 🤦😂) and I just want you to know, I am HERE for your channel content. I love terrible movies and shows and books and I too have watched all of Degrassi and all of these lifetime movies.
Just keep doing what you're doing ❤️
The movie Charlie Bartlett has a couple degrassi people in it as minor characters, but it’s actually good good. (RIP Anton Yelchin) I know for sure the guy who played Craig and the girl who played Paige are in it. Also Grace from Secret Life of the American Teenager who I also saw from a movie in this video haha
This is the video I didn’t know I needed in my life. Thoroughly enjoyed this! Thank you bestie ❤️❤️❤️
Dead at you saying "pLaNt bIoLogy" instead of botany. Also WOOHOOOO girl I hope you get more viewings and subscribers you deserve it
😂 I went back and checked, his major was actually phytology, I think I called it plant biology bc that's how the movie explained it lmao. and thank you!!
Degrassi former child actors feel like the center of the Canadian Cinematic Universe. I was big into canadian tv in middle school and I was always connecting the Life with Dereck actors to Degrassi to 18 to Life and My Babysitter's a Vampire, it's just so funny how a show becomes obviously canadian bc of the one degrassi actor in it
i instantly remembered mia kerschner from not another teen movie 🤣 and i used to watch the lifetime movie with peter and mia all the time i’m surprised it’s not in here!
I looove the products with the painting on them 😍 looks amazing
