  • Soundtest and rebuild of my homemade portable bluetoothspeaker. I had to rebuild the cabinet to fit all the electronics and get better sound. Just by adding some extra volume to the cabinet the sound made a huge differens.

    Nicely done!
    I love how you had the sound demo play in the bg while you rebuilt the speaker. Very clever. :-)

    Nice series of videos. Could you tell me which amp did you use? It looked like those chinese ones. Did you have any probelm with static noise? Thank you

    • @Erikdidit
      @Erikdidit  7 років тому +3

      Yes it was a Chinese amp, it works good, but there is some static noise. You cant notice it when you listen to average loud music.

    Does the amplifier talk when first powered up? 'Bluetooth connected' ?

    bit late to this, what was the size of the enclosure in total for both of these? about 0.06 to 0.08cuft?

    Love the looks of the speaker. I have a couple of questions. What is the size of the new box? When you did your first video, you painted something on the wires before soldering them, what was it? I'm new at this and getting ready to make myself one. Thanks for the help.

    • @Erikdidit

      It was soldering flux. Unfortunately I don't remember the size. But I have posted it here before.

    Hey mate, I've decided to make something similar in size using the same gear. After a year of using them, how do you find the eBay passive radiators? Worth doing over a traditional port in your opinion?

    • @Erikdidit
      @Erikdidit  4 роки тому +1

      When I built that speaker I didn't really know what I was doing 😬😆 the passive radiators are far too big/heavy. Maybe one of them would have been enough. Even if you go with a passive radiator or ported box I would suggest you use a speaker building software. I.e. bass box or winISD. Even speaker box lite on your phone/tablet is better than nothing.

    • @3rutu5
      @3rutu5 4 роки тому

      @@Erikdidit cheers, I generally use Winisd purely because it is free lol. I'm thinking I like Bass, but 2inch speakers aren't going to put out massive amounts and I have some electrical conduit which is perfect for a port

    Hey how is it about the heights?
    Should I add two ND20FB-4 Rear-Mount 3/4" to my project?
    Is a aluminium or titanium case better for the sound?

    • @Erikdidit
      @Erikdidit  6 років тому

      You have to make the cabinet bigger if you add them. I dont think it is necessary but it wont hurt either. I cant really tell if it would be better with aluminum or titanium.

    Hi, very noce build!
    i had ground loop noise with this amp, what can i do?

    • @Erikdidit
      @Erikdidit  6 років тому

      Yeah I have had the same issue with some of these amps. Try to buy another amp I guess :P I have decided to start using datyton audio or sure electronics amplifiers instead.

    • @aivaras28
      @aivaras28 5 років тому

      Use separate amp and bluetooth module, and use a dc-dc isolated converter to get rid of the ground loop.
      The bluetooth module i reccomend is KRC-86B, It doesnt have any prompt noise, and has specific holes to solder your own buttons.
      DIY Perks (channel) did simillar with his Concrete speaker build.

      aspuzling I removed it. It is supposed to show battery life and usage. But I didn't know how to calibrate it so I removed it. And I didn't really like how it looked

    from 1-10 how good is the sound of the speakers itself? are the passiv radiators needed?

    • @Erikdidit
      @Erikdidit  6 років тому +2

      Great questions and to start with your last question. The passive radiators I used are too big for these small speakers. I think they have barely to non effect on the sound. So, my recommendation is to use smaller passive radiators or a ported enclosure.
      I would give it an 8, which is better than I expected. I expected the sound to be pretty flat but it plays pretty deep. BUT, I really believe that you could get it to a 9 if you used lighter and smaller passive radiators. The ones I used barely vibrates as of now. Good luck if you plan you build something similar!

      Erik did it Hey thanks for your help.
      I'll build a speaker too and make my own technical layout...
      Do you know the best voltage for the speakers itself? (I'll use the 4Ohm version)

    • @Erikdidit
      @Erikdidit  6 років тому +1

      4ohm will work fine!

    • @ramhee98
      @ramhee98 6 років тому +1

      Erik did it Yea that i know.
      But what's the optimal voltage?

    • @Erikdidit
      @Erikdidit  6 років тому +2

      That depends on the amplifier you are using. If you use the same as me I recommend something around 24Volts 2Ampere power supply. No less than 12V tho.

    Im using the same passive radiators, but they are not moving, is this normal

    • @Erikdidit
      @Erikdidit  6 років тому

      I would say they are way too heavy for there speakers. But I didn't know that when I ordered them.

      Great work, but please please don't use Ultrafire batteries or any similar cheap generic 18650! whole thing can catch fire in a second, and true capacity is usually just 300-400 mAh...
      Best with further projects

      I actually bought them from a Swedish online store but I dont remember the price. Probably not as cheap as 25 tho. Unfortunately I cant really buy anything from partsexpress because the shipping price to Europe is outrageous.
