    Thanks so much for this video! Are there any ways to identify species as seedlings? I had a large pot that didn't germinate but a stray samara landed in the middle of it and sprouted up so I decided I would reward its efforts and grow some sort of maple in my patio garden, though I'm not sure what kind it is at this point. (Northeast America by the way)

    That was wonderful to see. Sycamore . And Box Elder Maples are abundant on my property. I'll have to look up our Sycamore type seemed different from yours. I'll let you know. Stay well enjoyed. I love trees🌳🍁

      @@JohnHorseyHorticulture I looked it up it's an American Sycamore. I have a huge one as a landmark on our property but its abundant on the property. I actually named my house The Sycamore Roost..lol 💚

      Hello Nigel - thank you for watching and for your question and yes all Acers can be cut back: we cut ours back hard as it grew very well: cut them back in the Summer in the UK All the best 🌸
