Good morning Becky, please don’t worry about being honest. It’s a box which you can’t guarantee you will like the fabric each month. It’s nice to have a surprise each month. Hayley does a great job on these boxes. You were very clear about your thoughts and were at no point having a go at Hayley’s business. People need to let it go, let it go. Thank you for sharing.. and being transparent regarding how you handled the "comment". One of the reason many of us watch sewing channels is to see and listen to honest comments and reviews of fabric, patterns, etc. which allows us to gauge whether we would like to purchase the items, and suggestions for when we might alter something that may suit us better.. such as your sleeve suggestion which is right up my alley, but something I may not have thought and not considered purchasing the blouse because of this.. in short 🙃continue to be yourself and share what is on your heart😃

It gets worse Becky, doesn’t it , I didn’t see or hear you say any thing nasty about your subscription, just that you didn’t like the fabric that month , which is surely allowed , as you say it’s a great idea , but you can’t always like the surprise , and I think you made that clear , sometimes you wonder if people watch you just to criticise and hope they have upset you , I personally love your honesty and all your makes , you give me the ability to believe that ,yes I too can sew , and I’m a great grandma , so thanks ❤❤xx

your helmi looks fantastic! i know how easy it is to ruminate on the few negative comments but try to remember that generally most people are supportive and the ones who aren't are not worth wasting your head space on.

Lee being yourself Becky - that’s what we subscribe for! I loved that you’re honest! I think when I only see subscription box reveals when people say they love it, I wonder if they’re telling the truth - as you said, it’s impossible to cater for everyone’s taste every time.
It is, I often find you can work your way around most that your unsure of but then there will always be the odd one you go, not for me or anyone I know. Is the nature.

I simply don't get why anybody could find you negative or wrong for simply being honest. I find honesty refreshing and also see myself as an honest person. I sew bags that I sell at craft fairs and must constantly remind myself to choose fabrics that don’t thrill me because often someone else loves the bag. We don’t all have the same taste.
I can imagine, that must be hard sometimes, if I don’t like something I do try to think who else I know would 😊 xx
Love the helmi blouse, it looks fabulous! I do love fish eye darts in the back of a blouse or dress, allows room at the front to cover my belly whilst still giving shape to my curves. I think I’d like to try the Peter Pan collar version as that’s a style I haven’t attempted yet.

Hi Becky, I think it is awful when people are mean on UA-cam. You were being honest and that is ok. It’s good that it sparked a whole lot of love for you and for Hayley. Hayley is so nice and always professional. Can’t wait to see more of your makes. I think I will make another Indigo, just got the expansion pack so back buttoning for me too! Happy sewing!

Focus on the positive comments not the negative ones Becky! If I want to see a simpering review of a product then I will watch the commercial breaks! Anyway moving on your blouse is lovely and I think some sewing retreats are the way to go for sure.

I agree with you, you need to be honest about the fabrics you receive and as a subscriber you take the the risk that you won't like all the fabrics. We all have different tastes and like different patterns and Hayley has to try and cater to everyone, as a busty short arse, I struggle with big prints as they generally don't suit me but I either de-stash or I use for my bottom half, I love the fun of opening a surprise every month which is why I will continue doing a subscription. Stay being honest. xxx

Haha I actually think because it comes in just under the bust it would work if there is no waist, I have a fuller waist x

Lovely makes Becki. The dawn dress looks great. I found a tip to put the interfacing on before cutting too. I found it came up too big on bodice. 😊
If I make it again I will redraft the piece to fit I think, but I like the shape and style so it’s one I would like to make again x
I've gone done to a 8 at shoulders and 12 at waist (usually 14). The neckband goes in with the longest part first and the facing attaching to the band at the shortest part if that makes sense. Lucy on sew essential explains it on a shirt dress with a continuous placket. Wish I lived closer would love to do a sew social x
What’s the point of not being honest about an unboxing? I for one, absolutely appreciate your frankness. I am sure that many liked the pink fabric but you are entitled to your opinion!! You weren’t being negative, just voicing your honest opinion. Ignore the critics my lovely.

I think the pattern you mention (I could be wrong, so please don’t crucify me if I am) is the one where you align the top and bottom of the band and ease the rest in to make a gentle slop for the band. I watch a sewing channel called “Vivmom Sews” and I believe this is the pattern she was referencing. She had called the manufacturer to get clarification on this issue. I may be wrong, but either way, the dress is beautiful and it doesn’t hurt to call customer service for these type issues because you paid good money for a product that should have clear instructions and pieces that fit correctly.
