Golf Mk5 to Mk6 front end swap - conversion wings part 1

In this video we make a start on fabricating the Mk5 to Mk6 Golf conversion wings.
We explain where we are going to make the cuts and the reasoning behind it, and finally show you how it all lines up when the two sections are together.

Thanks. There's not a great deal of information out there on actually doing this conversion properly, so I wanted to try and explain as much as possible as the reasons why you need to do it a certain way.

I've watched a couple of these videos, yours is the first one that had exactly the same idea as mine to refabricate the wings, can I ask how long the whole process has taken? I wont be doing an engine swap so would like to pick your brains on the process of the front end conversion

The mk6 wagon fenders are already a mix of mk5 and mk6 like you want fit right on and no cutting needed.

Only works on a Jetta, not a Golf as the shapes are different.

Just curious isn't the Mk6 wagon just a Mk5 wagon with mk6 dash and front?
If so wouldn't it have been easier to utilise the guards/fenders from that?

May I ask you why you didn't use the Mk6 Variant/station wings? I seems like that is just the part VW is offering that you need.

I mean, since that is a Mk5 body with a Mk6 front.

Unfortunately they don't work on the golf due to the swages being different. It is direct bolt on on the Jetta as the shape is the same as the wagon, but not the Golf
