- Опубліковано 14 сер 2024
- I have never painted a digital portrait before and I have actually only tried digital painting once before. So, I want to try and learn all about digital painting and create my first-ever digital portrait painting... I hope it isn't a disaster!

I love when Kirsty experiments with mediums and techniques. It makes it more entertaining to see her try something new.
Ig
There’s something so cool about seeing an artist who has mastered a skill try another. You have a completely different way of going about it than a novice and have already started off with great work. I would love your digital journey to be a series!
I love this. I’ve been messing around with digital art a little bit in the last couple of years because for me it’s easier than setting up my drawing stuff since i don’t have a dedicated art space at the moment.
This videos has given me some ideas in how to really play around with styles and textures (I also didn’t know about the flow settings)
I love that you gave a new medium a proper try and created lots of different pieces rather than just one, great video 😊
Yeah, there's a learning curve going to digital from traditional since many of these drawing/painting programs give you so many adjustment options via filters, layers, opacity, size, brush type, etc. Trying to figure out what settings/brushes give you the results you want or would get using pencil/pastel/charcoal & paper or oil paint or watercolor, etc feels a little overwhelming. It is nice knowing you have an undo feature or that you can try something on a separate layer & delete it if it doesn't work but gosh it's a lot to figure out just to be able to use it as intuitively as you would traditional media. I'm glad there are now tutorials readily available because trying to learn the programs on my own from the user manual 15 years ago made me give up in frustration. I'm ready to try again & hope it goes better this time🤞
What I love about this is that it shows no matter how good you are in one area becoming excellent is about learning, applying and practicing.
I've been drawing digital for years already and it's easier to draw than in tradition with all those undos and unlimited brushes despite being completely different. However, it felt like cheating for me because you can just undo or use layer filters to blend those colours up. I seem to miss a lot of fundamental and hardships because of digital painting and I'm planning to take a rest from it and start watercolours.
Amazing results! Training with traditional materials definitely helps with digital painting. If you know how to use physical paint, you'll see possibilities for the software application that might not be apparent otherwise!
Awesome job! Your videos just fell into my lap looking up water coloured pencils. Art has really come a long since I graduated college, 24-25 yrs ago. I feel like I need to go back to college 😆. 40 yr old going to college with her kids, they would sooooo love that. 😂
Oh my you're doing awesome at digital I love that you're trying a different medium it's fun to see artist who are not use to a specific medium learning something new ❤️
I’m doing your course Kirsty, but using Procreate on the iPad. I have just followed your eye study on the graphite course and I did the best drawing I have ever done. I’m 40 and haven’t done art since my GCSEs!
Your doing wonderful, but I much prefer watching you show your artistic talent on paper. God bless. 🙏✝️🇺🇸
I agreed with you.

amazing. love your art❤️❤️😍👏
I didn't realize my cursor was over the dislike button. And it was apparently being clicked multiple times. I only noticed because of a pop up catching my eye saying the feedback was shared with the creator. This pop up appeared many times, indicating I was clicking dislike a lot. I'm very sorry about that. I had rested my fingers on the touch pad and was clicking
"How i blend? Do i just sort of ease off the pressure? " hahahahahhshs
I'm going to give this a try in very intrigued....what software are you using
Hi first comment big fan ❤
You always come up with New ideas. I just love watching you. N I love how honestly you showed your struggles and fears for using digital brush for the first time. That makes us confident, that after some struggles we can eventually achieve perfection. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Insanely good.
Hi Kirsty, long time lurker, first time commenter
I used photoshop 🥰
Does anyone know what hardware and software she is using? Or have any suggestions on good ones to use. I have been wanting to get into digital art for a long time now, and I've always watched her videos to help learn and grow my art style. Seeing how her work turned out has given me the motivation to try and learn a new style. I have no idea what to use for it though.
Thank for share digital art tutorial
When you scribbled that light highlight color over your whole painting, my heart stopped, then I remembered it was digital, and all you had to do was hit undo.
You have a special tool for blending Color’s.
Wow Kirsty very nice drawing!! What app do you use? I use Krita but I would like to try Procreate. :))
@KirstyPartridgeArt
Is it a tablet you're using ? If yes what kind ? Like is it of apple ?
Hi sensei, what sketchpad are you using? And what app is this?
What kind of tablet do you use?
Hey Kirsty, I was just wondering, where do you find all your references? If it’s from Pinterest, can you please make a board and share the link in the description of your videos.p?
Beautiful 👍
In your drawing tutorials can you include the shckeching process thank you and by the way your drawings are amazing

Is that an Apple tablet?
Yes, it's an Apple iPad Pro. She is using the Adobe Photoshop app but the Procreate app is more popular, has more drawing features, and costs a lot less.
@graphicdragon Thanks for the info. I was just scrolling through to find out what kind of tablet and app she's using in the video.
Can you please recommend few books to improve art business. thanks

Rg
Have you tried Prince William and Princess Catherine of Wales ?
With all respect my dear, I am expecting you make a difference a create something original, I don't want a see a copy machine. Don't follow others to gain followers. Please be yourselve
I'd rather see traditional, to be honest with you
Boo digital
What i absolutely HATE is the too smooth and quick texture of the pencil on the screen, thankfully, Paperlike and such layers you just put on the screen help a lot.
