wow, that SZROT game drop was unexpected. Here I am, a serbian lady just trying to find out cool indie game, when bam! It's cool, I don't need to play my life, thank you very much.
tbh these were supposed to be more "micro" upcoming games, i have sky high standards for a proper indie vid. but i did nothing to differentiate between the two lmao
If more decent Chinese games are what you're after, I highly recommend The Legend of Tian-ding. This Taiwanese game is set in the late 19th century, where the Chinese were occupied by the Japanese. It focuses on a real-life figure, who was basically a Chinese Robin Hood. Gameplay is fun, and it is a utterly charming world with suitably menacing villians. Story kind of falls apart near the end, but well worth the price of admission, and should still be on Game Pass.
@11:26 you're talking about "Games that put you in the shoes of a ninja" - You're looking for "Tenchu" the franchise. It basically is the grandfather of the entire stealth action genre and does exactly that! It's also sort of an immersive sim. Tenchu is also what Sekiro is based off of, made by the same studio in fact :)
If you're looking for an unknown Indie Game that's already released, you should check out Scholar of the Arcane Arts. It's not the prettiest but I promise it's spell combining mechanic is worth it!
Maybe you know about it, but you should definetely play Sayuki Journey West for the PS1/emulator if you want a wuxia RPG. Such a cool, underrated gem from that era.
Please consider showing "CODE Bunny" in part 2! is a Retro 2D Action Platformer with beautiful pixel art and catchy chiptune! The game is releasing THIS MONTH for PC on itchio!
What were your thoughts on Boomerang X? I really loved the mechanics, but I wish there was more content. It would be interesting as a VR game, but it would be sickening to play like that.
There is a great game I can recommend to you. Not a too long (Finished it in like, 9 hours, with almost 100%), but REALLY GREAT. It is a Metroidvania-like game with a nice story, good controls and great mechanics. There are a few puzzles, which aren't too bad. The true ending is a bit difficult to get, cause there is a weird difficulty spike for the side boss to get something for it (the ending), but the game goes back to normal after. I can't really explain it well, but if this interests you, you should check it out. It is called "UNSIGHTED"
oh im aware ;) im eagerly anticipating it but having followed tim soret (creator of the last night) for a few years i believe the last night will be a much more profound and important game
@@Zetsubou-69420 nope, development still ongoing. they cut their funding but tim soret will not let his vision die. they've supposedly broken new ground with the 3d pixel art technology. its still very much under wraps so im assuming a few years away
I don't know if you have tried Library of Ruina, but I wish their "turn base" combat system were used on more rpgs personally... And if there are more games with that combat mechanics please someone recommend me some, I'd appreciate it.
Play Brutal Orchestra! The most underrated Indie Game as of now, its a turn based RPG with a heavy focus on strategy and resource management elements. Its art is inspired by the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch and his strange depictions of heaven and hell, it has an amazing semi-roguelike gameplay loop and tons of creative bosses. I PROMISE you its worth it and you wont regret it!
@@chromerot Awesome! I think there's a big chance you and many others will love it, if you have a discord or anywhere I can contact you I'd be down to get you a copy of the game. Just let me know.
Out of these Brass Below caught my eye but after looking the twitter videos for it for me it feels like more style over substance. I hope the world is interactiable because otherwise, it's just like walking through pretty set pieces, which gets old fast for me. I wasn't impressed by the gameplay shown (fishing, mining, and portals), and farming, construction, and poker aren't my thing. I hope I am wrong about all these things
Szrot looks cool, but from the Steam page direction, it doesn't seem that deep of a game. I hope there's lots to do and I'm wrong. I hope they really push into the culture side too
yeah not all of these are super deep and packed with content. i feel like i put together a decent mix between low and mid budget games cause i wanna give the solo devs a shot too
Yeah I really tried getting into jrpg's as well, because I wanted something to get lost in and love so I can forget about the pain that is my offline existence, but turn based combat is actually more painful than that so I can't get into it. Also the dialogue is just so generic.
I know right and they try to shoehorn it to everything yakuza 7 was good and freshing but they are making yakuza 8 turn based too like we have this one brawler bro leave it be 😭
how hard is it to make a new gothic/oblivion/neverwinter but just with a bigger map, better graphics and vulkan so it runs on a quad core with 4gb ram ??!!
Dude. Have you played "Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion"?. This might be a game worth checking out. The goal of this game is to get past 1000 rooms. It starts off slow with you wandering through a few empty rooms, but just when you think this might be a super boring game with cutesies popping out of the walls, you spend the next few rooms running for your life. Btw it's free!!! so check it out if you haven't already
i watched a youtuber play it on stream but i didn't stick around for the later areas so i wouldn't know what to expect. could be fun to play on stream perhaps
i kinda prefer a smaller niche community to interact with, also im afraid of it messing something up in the algo, also my streams still kinda suck lol i wanna get better at it before maybe trying it on here
Omg i cried when i watched SZROT, this is a perfect Yugoslavia simulator
I'm sorry, but the SZROT segment alone completely sold me on this game. I want it... I want it now!

5:44 so like every single game before The Legend of Zelda for the NES?
