Zac’s performance was astounding, shame on y’all for the snub.
It’s not the oscars fault, it’s A24’s fault for not releasing the movie on schedule. That’s the only reason why the movie wasn’t nominated, due to a schedule eligibility.
The film will be eligible for NEXT YEAR’S Academy Awards.

@brandondvorak4301 the movie was made by A24 which is the same studio that won 7 Oscars last year for Everything Everywhere All at Once.
I think politics inside the industry. Another assumptions would be: the writers and casting crew of the iron claw didn't listened to Hollywood's diversity bullshit. You know like forcefully casting indian, asian, black, Mexican and every race in a movie to ruin the story.
Iron Claw should be the reason you guys start having stunt and ensemble categories. And shame on you for the snub.

@@YodaMasterOfTheUniverse Total bullshit. Any feature film up for contention doesn't need any more than a qualifying theatrical release date in the US by December 31st, 2023. You can literally find this information on the Academy's website.

In this movie Zac Efron disappeared and flawlessly transformed into Kevin Von Erich in a once in a lifetime role. Zac gracefully showed what a real ascension from a Disney child actor to a dramatic versatile movie star looks like. The snub was beyond questionable and unfathomable. Such a disappointing decision from the academy.
I liked Cillian Murphy's performance in Oppenheimer as much as the next guy, but Zac would have been my pick to win. These prestigious awards always miss too much to mean anything significant in my mind.

100%!!!!! I literally never cared about Zac Efron before this movie, wasn’t interested in the comedies/teen movies. He was stellar in The Iron Claw and cemented himself as a seriously versatile actor. Cannot believe he wasn’t nominated.

This movie was amazing. I laughed and I definitely cried. Zac had his best performace ever and I'm pissed that you guys snubbed this. Seems like you were scared that it might be able to surprise and beat Oppenheimer, or maybe beat Cillian Murphy for best actor.

Thank you academy for posting this video. As a wrestling fan, I loved the movie. Yet I am not happy it got ignored in acting nominations. It is not easy to play a Von Erich in body and spirit.

How could you ever seen at the Academy when it wasn’t even nominated? I think the movie came out a little too late when people are already starting to make their nominations. I bet if it came out a month early then it would’ve gotten nominations in best actor, and best picture among other things.

The film was officially released on December 22, 2023, and had a few advance screenings prior to that.

I loved this movie! A top 3 for me of 2023 with Poor Things and Oppenheimer. But no Oscars? Not even for Zac Efron? C'mon!
I watched this film last night, I honestly didn't expect much from it and knew little of the back story about the Von Erich family. But I was actually surprised of Efons acting ability here, I think it was best acting performance in a movie, especially the extremely tough emotional scenes. Deserve some recognition

Amazing movie! Hopefully Iron Claw will be able to be nominated next Academy awards. Zack Efron’s performance was flawless and awing. Easily would’ve been in the top contenders for his category. Iron Claw as a whole as well definitely would’ve received noms. If thats not the case, it would be a shame!

It most likely did premiere prior to the nominations cutoff date. It will be eligible for nominations next year.

I grew up with the von aricks wrestling I enjoyed the movie time lines were rushed but I could fill in the blanks I was there I cried when Dave died and the bueatiful ending as they met in heaven I hope Kevin writes a book 😊

one of the greatest films i’ve ever experienced in theaters. i’m not surprised the oscars snubbed this it’s a clown show no longer based on merit but rather representation. representation ≠ greatness.

Can it have a chance at next years Oscars? If I'm not mistaken The Silence of the Lambs was released a years before in won an oscar. And im pretty sure Crash was released in 2004, re released in 2005 and Won Best Picture in 2006

Cuz we in the UK just got the movie in cinema, cuz this film should have REALLY been up for best picture, I've been a professional wrestling fan most of my life, and after watching it, I got a new found respect for wrestling. It made me proud to be a fan of professional wrestling
I had no idea Harris Dickinson was from the UK... the accent threw me for a second. It's always amazing how actors can hide their accent or learn a new one for a film... and do it so well you wouldn't ever know their real speaking voice until you hear it later in interviews. He did a good job.
