1:40 - Wrist Angles 101 and how they affect club face being open or closed
2:37 - How different wrist angles change the orientation of the shaft (steepen & shallow the club)
4:00 - How non-neutral grips affect club face and shaft
5:53 - How wrist angles can influence the length of the swing (ie. overswinging)
7:55 - Why we want face angle matching spine angle
In this video I wanted to talk about the impact the hands and wrists have on the club face and shaft orientation in the golf swing. Also, how they can affect the length of our swings, which can help players who overswing.

This is seriously one of the most if not the most helpful video I’ve watched. Subscribed!
Thank you! I appreciate that, and glad it helped!
I'll just wanted to add the overswinging can also come from letting the club go loose In your left hand I know because I suffer from that. You could also let your left arm collapse and the same thing will happen
woohoo
Nathan - thanks for the video . I have a strong left wrist grip about 30 degrees of extension at address when measured on Hackmotion . I am always massively extended at the top maybe 50 degrees of flexion in left but I manage to bow the wrist at impact. Any tips to help me into a better position from address to the top ? (Other than changing my grip to neutral) Sincere thanks
Other than changing the grip we would need to train the hands/wrists to move differently in the backswing. Maybe start thinking more about what you right wrist is doing. If we want to have less extension of the lead wrist at the top then we would want more extension in the trail wrist, like trying to hold a tray of drinks in the right hand.
@@TDA_golf thank you I’ll try that
Subbed. Why does it feel so awkward when trying to bow the wrist? Feel like i loss the grip from my hand
Sometimes it can be a lack of mobility in the wrist. Other times if you alter you grip a bit it can make things easier. And then sometimes you just need to feel more pressure pushing into the grip with that hand that’s coming off.
Nathan, can’t find an email for you as I would like to ask you a question via email. Thanks
