I recently watched online recital.of this very fine piano performer in Wigmore...Since then, I listen more and more her performances and I am delighted of her tonal aspects...
Have you heard her performance of Chopan's 1st Piano Concerto? She played this in a competition, I believe a Chopan Competition. In any case, it is one UA-cam and it is amazing. A magical performance.
I commented on the same performance, and she responded almost immediately, so gracious.

WOW!!!! Fascinating op. 31- the perfect interpretation... lively, inspiring, charming, exciting, fully controlled, transparent, free, surprising, absolutely beautiful ...impossible to hear that any better....
A wonderful recital. I have this Beetoven sonata on her first CD from way back in 2003/05 -- and it is still one of my favourite CDs. I still listen to it several times a year since then. I wish she would record more - more Beethoven!!
I heard her live in Auckland New Zealand a few years ago and it was magical. She is coming again this year to play with Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra @apo. I will be there cheering.

For me my only criticism is that her Beethoven is too slow paced, polite, gentile and nice! This was Not Beethovens personality! He was a very Robust, Raw man inclined to personality outbursts. I personally need a faster, bigger, more Robust sounding Beethoven. I need some FFF's here and there etc
No one is making you listen...as the old expression goes. I personally think a different approach can be interesting. I'm sure there's plenty of recordings that'll give you what you want.
What a preconceived idea about our dear Ludwig!... Alas yes, there are unfortunately pianists who hit very hard and who play very quickly, believing they are doing the right thing, but they are largely mistaken in the interpretation of his music (which is above all of the order of supreme sensitivity, of wild singing as Ingrid Fliter delivers them to us here), and that without neglecting the rough passages nor the forced fortissimi!... And if you want to rediscover from the authentic Beethoven, then also come back to the great Kempff, Fischer, Haskil, Brendel...
or the very young Biss and Bavouzet... And you will see that they are not drowning in the pedals or that they are not beating like deaf people, but on the contrary that they sing in a luminous and exemplary manner!
