Ngl, any Hot Takes she may have aside, I do kinda relate to Elira (and even empathise with her a little) in not wanting to watch Anime that everyone else is already watching (which even includes a lot of seasonal anime as well). Even if it may seem like contrarian behaviour at times, it's better to watch something you know you'd like as opposed to just what other people say is great. It's a large part of why I got into most Anime in the first place tbh, in part because of how niche it felt to me at the time. It's also perhaps one of the main reasons why I don't plan on watching (or may never watch even) shows like Attack on Titan or Demon Slayer anytime soon if I'm honest. Don't feel like watching something that could just end up being overrated/overhyped fluff at the end of the day imho... (Also I had just been watching Legends of the Galactic Heroes recently, which as people have said really does make everything else look like crap lol, so that could be part of the reason why)
Imagine Elira as guest in trash taste lmao. Cant wait to see how the boys mald. Tbf tho, she makes a good point in Slice of Life. Why watch the everyday boring life of someone?

Here's something to consider, my own life is significantly more boring and bland than any other slice of life anime. I just want to watch something that sorta fills that hole thats left in my life
Elira is based. I think I have that anime hipster mentality too; I refused to watch Demon Slayer, but I ended up watching the movie with my friends anyways lol.
Demon slayer receiving the animation quality it did is an absolute travesty when other shows that had way better source material that had their anime released at the same time were animated on potatoes

A couple shows I think most people like that I don't are K-on and Overlord. K-on I don't hate, but the whole "cute girls do cute things" just isn't enough for me. It felt lacking in any sort of actual depth and all the characters felt pretty one dimensional. And Overlord I do legitimately hate because it's just an Isekai about the religiously pvp-focused guild in the game being general dicks to everyone else. Only character I liked was Sebas. Surprised she doesn't like Konasuba though. And World Trigger is pretty good IMO, it just lacks the usual sort of over-the-top anime power escalation. It focuses more around teams coordinating during fights than single units being absolutely broken. It's a weird anime to me in that I'm always apprehensive to start a new episode or get back into it and then glad I did anyway later. My assumption is Elira just likes monkey brain, power-creep type anime and BL. And also immediately dismisses anything that is _too_ hyped. Which, admittedly, I've kinda done before too.
@@jothamheystee None of the fights have any real suspense because Ainz's team is so ludicrously strong that the concept of them losing barely even exists. The rest of the time is full of them just shit talking humanity for being weak. It's just a fundamentally dull show to me.

@@jothamheystee Season 3 is where I stopped watching. Around episode 8 or so I believe. I just couldn't do it anymore. The whole thing just felt like cruelty for cruelty's sake. Okay maybe it is that bad.
Elira doesn't understand how much lelouch is great
no lol, he succ
Elira would LOVE the episodes in the middle of season one where the hijinks happen (festival, cat episode)
Eli likes Sasuke.. Not to throw shade or anything but Sasuke..
Lelouch is dumb
This is why Elira is my oshi, we have such similar tastes! I'm just gonna gloss over that she didn't like yuri on ice though lmao, I didn't hear that at all...
oh she liked the 2 baseball anime I had in mind
baseball anime tend to be popular with BL-fans after all
Oofuri seemed like it was definitely written for that demographic
omg haikyuu and ace of diamond are my most favourite sports anime too!!!
I understand World trigger is bad at first... but just fight with those early episodes like hitman reborn its worth it
those fight scenes got me
Except unlike World Trigger, Hitman Reborn is not worth it. Reborn just goes from awful to slightly less bad.
"The manga was better" (just memeing tho, but I prefer the manga).
Tho tbf, not sure if she got into the Invasion Arc which is probably the peak. (Second peak is end of ranking arc).
@@arkeyy9533 bet elira didnt, but yeah, we cant expect anyone to have the same taste as ours so we respect it
@@kutsu410 Pretty much. Its not bad to like bad anime's and its not bad too to dislike good anime's.
As a man of true gender equality, I will drop kick this dragon for not liking the anime I sacrificed so much for
well she did say "it's not for me" so I understand her opinion
It's just not for her, bruv. Calm yo waifu breechers.
4:18 holy fuck I thought I was the only one
Aldonoah Zero take is deserved and just. Show started with an awesome premise, only to reduce a global mecha war to one high school kid. Two if you're generous, but really just the one.
She mentioned ships, and specifically in that area they really fucked it.
2:26 some people just want to watch the world burn
Man, I rally like Elira, but this is hard. Sheeeesh...
The "I don't go out" is the only thing relatable, there r some anime that I didn't like and I forgot the tittle LMAO
Imagine Elira as guest in trash taste lmao. Cant wait to see how the boys mald.
Tbf tho, she makes a good point in Slice of Life. Why watch the everyday boring life of someone?
*coughs in Kobayashi's Dragon Maid*
This shit is divine. Anything by KyoAni is divine.
Cause sometimes you just want to not think and enjoy something without drama or thinking too much
Because sometimes you just want to turn off your brain and relax after a long day at work or school. The iyashikei genre is a thing after all. Though I can understand why some may find it boring.
K-On is boring? Ok.
There’s no way I just heard elira say that she liked Keijo but she didn’t like Konosuba like actual confusion here
I don't remember much about Nagi no Asakura, but I do remember the halfway point definitely taking a turn and changing my opinion from liking it to not liking it, so I can get Elira's point lmao. Kind of a shame she didn't watch CG and GC though. I would put both shows in my top 10 just from the characters alone
Haikyuu and Daiya no Ace. Nah man she's *cultured*
Nagi no Asukara Ed2 slaps tho
best thing about aldnoah zero is it's soundtrack lol
Nagiasu is so weirdly bad that its actually amazing
I’m surprised she likes kaijo, cultured dragon
For me Aim for the Top!(Gunbuster) is one of the best anime.
2:25 Yoo same thats why i think its overrated
Edit: even after watching everything
Edit2: 4:43 mets suck kekw
KEKW
Holy shit our tastes are the same. Is this destiny??
Aldnoahs MC was just pure bland overpowered self-insert fuel.
Well she can't be perfect.
There's a lot to be disagree upon, but more importantly I'm cold sweating for her sake because of the internet lmao. BRAVELIRA
I am sad that she said she likes sports anime but slam dunk doesnt even gets mentioned.
I guess she would like codegeass if she had only watched it, hearing from all likes and don't likes in this clip....
Me: I was raised to respect peoples thoughts and likes and I do. Im a very open minded person.
Elira: Konosuba sucks
Me: *_Triggered_* (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
I don't think we watched the same Overlord because that take is overly simplistic and not accurate to the story at all, but alright.
@@jothamheystee None of the fights have any real suspense because Ainz's team is so ludicrously strong that the concept of them losing barely even exists. The rest of the time is full of them just shit talking humanity for being weak. It's just a fundamentally dull show to me.
@@GamePlayuh9510 It sounds like you would benefit from the light novels then. It is much more in depth, and believe me when I say that Ainz does not always keep that overwhelming difference in power later on. And, to be honest, it's really not about the fights. That isn't what Overlord is about. I think season 3 best touches upon this.
@@jothamheystee Season 3 is where I stopped watching. Around episode 8 or so I believe. I just couldn't do it anymore. The whole thing just felt like cruelty for cruelty's sake. Which would be fine to me, if it wasnt coming from the main characters. And I guess it's good that there's some actual challenge/opposition later, but I have no idea how far I'd have to go into it to find that point or if it would even be satisfying. Because I'll be honest with you, if I have to watch 3+ seasons into a show just to _NOT_ hate it, it doesn't feel worth it to me, regardless of the payoff value.
@@GamePlayuh9510 I liked it from the beginning, but it's really all down to different tastes. Everyone has the right to like what they want, so I respect your opinion.
Saying you don't like Konosuba is like saying you don't like Pizza without saying why. Don't just drop that Hot take and move on as if it was the most normal thing in the world!
Guys, guys, try to remember her favorite manga is One Piece, surely we can give her a break, right........
I ended Nagi no Asukara like 2 days ago so i understand, its so pretty and all, but the characters are SO bad, the VA of Kana Hana carried me through the whole thing
Wow she is actually one of my people. Well... sort of.
Okay if you just watch the episodes with Slaine, Aldnoah Zero is interesting
She doesn't like Eureka Seven? Am sad now.... Very much so
Si que me agrada esta chica xd
the only thing i like about eureka 7 is
- the 1st and 2nd op ost
- pure mecha animation
story is just idk.....i dont even want to talk about it since there will be nothing good came from my mouth so no comment
" i dont like anime that everyone says its great"
but surpising she put haikyuu and daiya no ace for favorite anime
haikyuu feel different than other cause if other sports anime put sport and action at first genre
if haikyuu kinda feel like, "its philosophy anime along with sport", haikyuu can be enjoyed by action
but you will more enjoyed if you see what you can learn from each character in philosophy way,
well every fandom has dark side, and sad more ppls focus on haikyuu dark side as "fujobait" then alot thing in haikyuu
its feel like "3 blind peoples touch part of elephant and asked to describe what is elephant" story
I’m pretty sure I liked Aldnoah Zero but for the life of me I can’t remember the anime at all.
Yeah Renton is kind of bad but I guess watching all of Eureka Seven was passable because I was more younger…Then the new series happen
the only thing I liked about Eureka Seven was the mecha before they turned Nirvash into some kind of Baymax
Sheesh of Life
I was surprised when she said she's gone through all of those boring anime and said she hasn't watch guilty crown
SHE NEVER WATCH STEIN:GATES WTF
Did she watch gundam though
