I agree its a very nice looking car i bought this very model yesterday one owner with 17k on the clock like a new car serviced every year stored in a garage couldn't believe how clean the underside was engine is spotless
I put 18inch alloys on corner s like it's on rails now mines the 1.8 spot you get alot of car for your money I paid nearly 13 grand with 17k on clock to be fair is like a new car
Great car if not that rust. Own it, 7y on the road and already rust or a roof, under wind shield rubber. I was ok with rust under the car, but the roof... From a technical perspective - great.
I’m looking at purchasing one of these as my next car, I’ve watched a few of your videos on them and with it being a Honda you know it will be reliable especially because it’s a pre turbo era for the petrol that is. Based on the engines that being 1.8 & 1.6 which would you say is the best?
The 1.8 with decent servicing is pretty much bomb proof. The 1.6 diesel, likewise but bear in mind the 1.6 is a turbo engine albeit we don't really touch them
it is fine if you drive it like a petrol and not like a diesel ! The petrols have less torque so I you're going up a steep hill you may drop from sixth to fourth rather than fifth for an example. You just work the engine harder when you need to, its why they have a wider power band than a diesel so the revs can be utilised.
Even though it's not meant to be, this is one of the best reviews for this generation of Civic on youtube, well done.
Hello
I’ve been considering one of these either this model or the 1.6 dtec. Great informative detailed review ! Thanks

1.8 and 140hp are very nice option. 100k km and had only regular servicing, no other issues, only rust.
