it's the artist that makes the dubstep sound different...you can't associate a genre with how some artists make their music...dubstep has a wide variety to how it's made and sounds...from smooth with clean bass and a melody behind it, and even sweet lyrics or just flat-out heavy with insane bass, deep drops, and many other characteristics...it all depends on what you like... I'm sure you would like Stan SB/ Fox Stevenson if you don't like anything that is on the extreme scale as to what you expected here...but his works are on a 'faster' scale, but he also does stuff like DnB and Glitch Hop...
