Man, this song is one I always have to listen to every time it comes up in my shuffle, pure bliss and the memories of being a dumb fucking 8 year old who couldn't wait to grow up. Big mistake
You have no idea how long I've wanted to say something on here. About 11 years or more. But this song alone makes up such a huge Era of my life. Explains it all but only in my mind. So much adventure, so much chill. This was one of the songs I showed people that caught on. Not the other way around. I miss those good ole days. When everything felt brand new and the world felt unexplored.

@@Aurora11793 This song always made me relaxed whenever I was flooded with negative emotions. It's like a mental zen for me back then whenever I listen to this
After seeing all the comments here reminiscing about the good old times, I've decided to share my memories. This song brings me back to all the times I sat in my living room all summer long playing CoD and making montages with kids I'd never met before. I'd sit there with a fan blowing on me and almost always some form of goldfish, Doritos, or whatever snack. Lots of the people I became friends with through Xbox live took me out of my depression and made me feel so much more accepted. Since than I'm now much older and have grown up but I will always miss this days. I really will, thank you to everyone who made my depressing childhood absolutely amazing.
I was 13 or 14 when I first heard this, playing MW2 all day after school. Wake up, go to school, talk about MW2 at school, get home, play MW2 with classmates untill I had to sleep, repeat.. 7 years ago, this was fucking 7 years ago.. Lan parties at friends' places, making montages, trickshotting.. I will always miss those days, the best days of gaming in my opinion.
for some reason this song reminds me of a much happier and peaceful time when i first heard it. Perhaps it was just as hectic back then but the mind remembers the good more than the bad
I personally thank this song for being in my life so long. Everytime I listen to this song I just remember all the great times I have had and all the sad times. God I miss being a teenager
Mt eden were the ones whom really pioneered the way for dubstep back in the days. Really putting it into the mainstream and on the charts. I remember those days like yesterday in my late teens early 20s, living in Boulder County in the mountains with my crazy edm friends. Going to raves in denver and underground clubs warehouse parties etc..37 yrs old now, goddamn time flies 😮 after all these yrs all my friends are deceased Tragically and young, (lived fast and died young) and im somehow the only one STILL HERE to carry all those memories on. Damn those were the times. Not a care in the world..
This was one of my son's favorite songs. He passed away last month. We spent a lot of time talking about energy. He may be gone from this realm, but he is still alive. He had to go. 💔
Hello, random person! This might be 11 years late, but i hope you're doing your best out there. And i hope you have already found happiness in your life, in every aspect possible, no matter the gender, age, nationality or religion. If not, than both of us wish to find it as soon as possible. And i wish you cherish all those around you, with unconditional love, for all eternity. Much respect, eternally yours...!
Yup....new era of dubstep now and just techno (and sub-genres) in general now. Some isn't bad, by all means, but it's just not the same. It isn't what or how it used to be.
13 years ago, I was looking for the Portal “still alive” song here on UA-cam. Saw this and it launched me into the world of dubstep which started my love of EDM and led me to countless festivals. Awesome coming back and listening to this gem that started it all for me.
I remember 2010 (9th grade for me) I was going through major depression, but one thing that really helped me was discovering all this beautiful music I had never heard before. Mt. Eden was seriously what started me.... I remember my friends having no interest in dubstep and thinking it was weird, but I was happy blasting these gems on my headphones or at home. Was crazy when regular artists started incorporating drops and edm into their sounds. Then all the wild festivals I’ve gone to seeing so many of my favorite artists. I can’t believe some of my memories are real it was so magical. This last decade has been crazy. Glad to have been a part of it. Hope everyone is keeping their sanity and are healthy. Blast these songs that started this for a lot of us 💙
Extremely sad that you no longer see the O.G. Mirror's Edge mentioned in the comments. That game brought me here all those long years ago. One of the greatest mixes ever.
Every year I come back for this, the original version and the teddybears remix, the 3 best versions IMO, Mirrors Edge will never not have a place in my heart
Was 12 when I first heard this. 23 now. Takes me back to playing Call of Duty online with my mates until early hours of the morning. Simpler times, but glad to have the memories!
i first heard it when i was 13 or so maybe a little older - abouts to turn 26 next week. I'm absolutely the same! Cod MW2 all night with my mates, couple hours sleep then back to school. Then sitting up the skate park on the weekends drinking shitty cheap frosty jacks/white lightening and smoking some of the most awful greenery known to man hahahhaa. Christ i do miss those days
Memories of way back when - when we used to airsoft around the neighborhood, finding places only a few steps away but entirely set apart from our normal lives, tiny woods - open fields, construction areas, and at the end of the day we'd return home, and pop in Modern Warfare 2; and it's ever so bittersweet to remember such a beautiful thing.
Crazy to think that I listened to this freshman year of high school, and now also listening to it freshman year of college and it still gives me the chills. Thank you Mt. Eden for the gift
The amount of nostalgia I get from music like this is indescribable. I remember sitting on COD: WaW/MW2 back in 2009 and still to this day those were some of the best days of my life. Trickshotters weren't even around then, it was all about having fun and the clips that where average still made it into your montage lol.
All that needs to happen so COD4 and WaW can be active again is a remastered version for the next gen consoles. 1000's would play a great game for the first time and many of us older players would be buying it too. If someone like Syndicate (who started with COD4, I'm pretty sure anyway) or Tejbz launched a campaign for COD to remake both games without changing the map designs, etc. The exact same game pretty much.. If only.. I miss being able to get a game of War on COD5 or a game of HC HQ on COD4 without any problems :(
Because it's all I, and many others back then used to listen to back then. This, "On The Run" by Anotsu (one of my favourite tracks for nostalgia) and a lot of others remind me off playing COD4/WaW and MW2 cause at that time I was always making glitch videos/tages
Lyrics I've learned to lose I've learned to win I've turned my face against the wind I will move fast I will move slow Take me where I have to go I have to go (to go)
Get hyped you depressed nancys. You're living in a fairly interesting world, where life is only dull if you let it be. The world was fucked 7 years ago, 20 years ago, 100, 1000, etc you get it. It wouldn't matter when you lived, you would have shitty things to deal with. So enjoy the benefits of this modern society, deal with the problems you could actually solve, and not worry about the ones you cant. I'm 21, still loving life
The Dub Rebellion Growing up is an amazing thing. I love going back to old music and listening to old tunes that fill me with nostalgia and just reminiscing about memories that flashback to me from hearing the beat.
This song reminds me of one of my friends earlier this year, she was truly awesome and I felt heartbroken when she had to leave to Connecticut with her father because her mother had been caught sniffing cocaine. Anyway we continued to text and call for about a month and then she stopped calling . She had given me her fathers number because she said to call from that phone if she didn't pick up. So after a week I decided to call her father. When he picked up, I asked if my best friend jayla was ok. He replied saying, she said on a note "she had to go". I was confused so I asked what happened he replied that she killed herself. Later that week I turned on the news and which just so happened to be about the suicide of jayla Martinez. Every day I listen to this song and think about her.

That's the same thing I'm thinking about, cod just isn't the same anymore but it brings back memories when you play with friends but everyone noob tubes now so it's not the same as when people actually used guns and had fun
WhozTriickz Exactly, we always played with friends. It just isn't as much fun alone. Always gangbanging them shit. Like baggin the dayum xbox to go play at a friends home. Now some ppl play with "friends". And i don't think they ever saw them in real life. Such as other fatfucks which doesn't have any real friends either to say it harsh... Which evolves sadly into hardcore noobtubing.
Mt. Eden was the artist that peaked my interest into dubstep/chillstepyears and years ago when he first came out. I fell in love with his music style. the chill beats just put me in a deep thought trance.
it's great to read what you wrote...I am glad that you are here. I'll write a few words for you too.. I'm here again in 2022.. 13 years have passed.. I got goosebumps and tears in my eyes. This song brings back the most beautiful and memorable years of my youth 2009-2013 ..I feel the scents of that time, I experience my feelings of that time, if I close my eyes I am back in my room ..it lives in me so much that I can almost touch my things in my home at that time. .. I'm sad that everything in this life is transient..It would be nice to experience it again... Soon we will look back on this period with nostalgia.. Live.. live.. live!! .. and always remember

Every single time I get back here, I love swimming into the comment section and reading all this stuff. Got with my now wife the same year and now I’m just hoping our little boy will love this music as much as I do. Still have all these songs on a cd from when UA-cam ripping was a thing!! them search and destroy days on black ops 1 in 2010 were so golden, god I just graduated high school and this song ties down everything from those years, I recently visited this song today when I got off work at 5am and drove all the way home listening to all of these and reminiscing about my younger days, times have changed and some friends are no longer here on this planet, god I miss being a kid.
People can hate on COD all they want. The reason why it's one of the most successful game franchises ever is because it has an indescribable social aspect to it. The feeling you get when you go online with your buddies listening to a song like this just puts you into a state of 100% content. COD has certainly lost it's touch since MW2, but the series is still doing well because people are still chasing that feeling of nostalgia they have for MW2. COD is shit now, but it had it right 8 years ago. If everyone went back to MW2, I swear it'd be the best grossing game of 2014.
"Indescribable social aspect"; in other words having obnoxious 12 year olds scream into the mic while claiming that they have had sexual intercourse with your mother. The only reason why the franchise has been so successful and popular is because of the simplistic, casual gameplay, and the so-called "community" is on par with league in terms of cancerousness. The game in itself, although overrated, is not too horrible, but the community kind of ruins any chance of me ever enjoying it.
The dubstep community is so peace man! Just check out the comments! Been 7 years since I heard this i was doing my engg. in bangalore, India. and I know many of you were studying when you were listening to this then, lots of ups and downs but by the grace and mercy of Jesus on my life I'm still here. Hope you guys are well and blessed! Stay safe guys! Let's meet up here in another 10 years! ⚡
Rip to all my friends that lost their life in the life that comes with this music. The real ones will understand. Even though there is pain with this, it reminds me that the good times with my loved ones happened. Mt Eden if you’re reading this, just know I come here to relive the moments where I truly felt alive. Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy that it happened. 😢 ❤
Deep comment incoming: This song reminds me of the struggles and emotions we endured during our early developing stages, the beginning stages of letting go of the simple times. The do whatever the hell you want days with your friends. Sitting around chilling, drinking, smoking, playing GTA 4 and fps games...feeling good because you played good in your matches and had the highest score.. and you beat those tryhards, thinking that you'll be admired for your skill and be cooler than the rest, and it mattered so much at the time. The times before everyone had a smartphone glued to their hand, so you had to listen to music only through the computer. We were living back then, where as today we are so reactive to social media updates, scrolling and scrolling while times just flies by. This song, its not a sadness that it brings about as is it more a feeling of accomplishment through the struggles and adversities of growing up and taking on new responsibilities, and also being the first generation to play such highly competitive sophisticated games and have access to an abundance of free new music. Remember, the internet was growing rapidly, UA-cam was only a few years old then, and this music has never been heard before so it was like ecstasy to your ears..and since it reminds us of the good times with friends and sad that they are over, it proves that we all had our own struggles... and this song rewarded and reminded you for getting through them together while having fun and feeling completely free as possible. Just keep pushing through whatever you're going through because we didn't expect this era, a new one will surprise us and show its face. We will have new feelings and music to lookback on in that journey as well. It happened again to me in 2014-2015 when I discovered melodic psytrance and it brought about the same feelings of overcoming tough times and experiences of new love I was having for the first time. We had and have the best technological generation ever, yet everyone is more depressed than ever. I have to take my own advice too, but remember to be happy that it happened, not sad that its over. The rear view mirror in a car is small, the windshield is big. Look forward. Look ahead now. If you have to look back, look, but don't stay there. All we have is the present. Just listen to these lyrics. Life keeps moving. so yeah, I have to go..
So indeed a deep comment, nice. Especially when having a hard time, it's hits harder, ofcourse. For those, face the incoming wind. We know it can be very hard. Move slow or fast. Just don't be stuck in time. Try to improve everyday. ❤️ Peace

Man, this song is one I always have to listen to every time it comes up in my shuffle, pure bliss and the memories of being a dumb fucking 8 year old who couldn't wait to grow up. Big mistake

Yuop , imma old ass homie now.
When everything felt brand new and the world felt unexplored.
honestly you couldn't have explained exactly how i feel better than that.. I felt like i was so much more in touch with myself and i really enjoyed every new experience. I've been pretty spirtial/meditative lately and i've just been really digging deep through a bunch of that shit. Hope you are well friend.
@@Aurora11793 This song always made me relaxed whenever I was flooded with negative emotions. It's like a mental zen for me back then whenever I listen to this

Dude shut up!! Your making me fakkin cry 😢 😭 🤣
I really will, thank you to everyone who made my depressing childhood absolutely amazing.
same here and blazing too haha
Hell yeah! Dubstep def brings back memories of my blazin' days! Now im grown up working a nice job where I can't any more

Kevin Clarke Irony is that its not dubstep, but ok xD
MorgurEdits Um yes it is dude. Mt Eden was one of the pioneers of Dubstep

Im sorry to hear that i hope you’re doing alright

13 years ago, I was looking for the Portal “still alive” song here on UA-cam. Saw this and it launched me into the world of dubstep which started my love of EDM and led me to countless festivals. Awesome coming back and listening to this gem that started it all for me.
The Mirrors edge soundtrack gives me nostalgia goosebumps since it's release in 2008....

The amount of nostalgia I get from music like this is indescribable. I remember sitting on COD: WaW/MW2 back in 2009 and still to this day those were some of the best days of my life. Trickshotters weren't even around then, it was all about having fun and the clips that where average still made it into your montage lol.
the golden age of COD
All that needs to happen so COD4 and WaW can be active again is a remastered version for the next gen consoles. 1000's would play a great game for the first time and many of us older players would be buying it too. If someone like Syndicate (who started with COD4, I'm pretty sure anyway) or Tejbz launched a campaign for COD to remake both games without changing the map designs, etc. The exact same game pretty much..
If only.. I miss being able to get a game of War on COD5 or a game of HC HQ on COD4 without any problems :(
It's a mirrors edge song, why would it make you think of .COD
Because it's all I, and many others back then used to listen to back then. This, "On The Run" by Anotsu (one of my favourite tracks for nostalgia) and a lot of others remind me off playing COD4/WaW and MW2 cause at that time I was always making glitch videos/tages

I read your comment along to the beat of the song. It matches up if you try hard enough.

Are u talking about the song, because if then the original song is from mirrors edge???
Wut.
It's successful because it's great at attracting children to a game with shit mechanics.
Or it's just an "indescribable" social obligation of the gaming world i.e The gaming equivalent to buying a new football jersey every year.

Deep comment incoming:
This song reminds me of the struggles and emotions we endured during our early developing stages, the beginning stages of letting go of the simple times.
❤️ Peace

This song is from a simpler time, when music could “exist” without being tied to streaming services... good times
