Siren Çelik is Assistant Professor in the History Department, Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Marmara University, Istanbul. She obtained her Ph.D. at the University of Birmingham. Her main research interests are Late Byzantine history, Byzantine literature, history-writing and daily life. She has been a Junior Fellow at Dumbarton Oaks and has received postdoctoral fellowships from Koç University-ANAMED, Boğaziçi University and Harvard University.
