I’m staying with my parents as my dad happened to get a job the same time I got my college offer, so there’s not much I could share about my accommodation situation as it is different from other international students. However, if you’re interested, I can make a video on what Prinsep Residencies is like! As per co-curriculars, it really depends on what the uni is looking for. Hey Aashmika, I had a query regarding the application form. What did you write in your personal profile and also what were the questions they asked you in the interview?
Hey! What do you mean by personal profile? And tbh the group interview was more of a conversation and discussion, it was very short, around 15 mins with 2 other applicants.
@@aashmikavarma hey, thanks for replying, and regarding the personal profile, I meant the CCAs section. Also about the interview, did it happen online or offline and can you please share the topics?
Nope, SMU mainly has courses under Commerce, Humanities and Computer Science. You can check out their website for more details on their undergrad and master programmes!
Hii!! I’m currently studying class 12 cbse and also applying to SMU. I’m a Singapore Permanent Resident currently preparing for JEE as well so my cbse scores are around 90-92% but expecting to get 95%+ in the finals. I came across English qualifications for international students. They apparently need some sort of qualification like SAT or TOEFL. Did u submit any English tests? And do u know someone who got accepted even without these procurements? I have decent extracurriculars and ok-ish grades and some certifications. Do you think I might have a chance? And I noticed u got 97% in class 12 boards :v Do you have any tips ;-;?? Also, did you do anything special for personal statements? (Even tho urs got invalid ;-;)
is there any chance to get full scholarship for these universities? mainly nsu and ntu cause im science student? Also what are some things that helped your application stand out more in your opinion?
Yes, I’ve heard of someone who got full scholarship in NTU, so I definitely think it’s possible. You can check out the uni websites for the scholarship and financial aid details! For your second question - I think good grades, overall holistic profile with a bunch of extracurriculars and a smooth interview probably helped me for SMU. I’ll talk about this in more detail in my application video!
Hii! Aashmika didi, just wanted to know how the overall process of studying psychology has been at SMU, I'm really interested in studying psychology there as well, also can you pls mention whether you're doing a double major or a double minor, which program did you opt to study? Thanks a lot, great video!!
Hi! What do you mean by overall process? :) To answer your second question - I applied to SMU for their Bachelor’s in Social Science programme (B. SocSc) and opted for a double major only after I came to university. SMU has very flexible choices for majors so you can choose to second major from any other school in SMU or from your primary school (in my case, social sciences).
@@aashmikavarma Thanks a ton! for the quick reply, By the overall process I meant, how are the professors, the quality of the concepts being taught, and research inclination? In short your overall experience and do you recommend studying psychology to students who are interested in the same?
Hi! I’m double majoring in psychology & marketing. I’ve talked about part time jobs in depth in this video: ua-cam.com/video/RRu8Didb1GM/v-deo.htmlsi=Pzs9BBsCzoi1GUhH
My daughter is in 12th ….by the end of May she will get her results….please tell me if she sores around 75-85 percent is there any chance of getting admission in SMU ….when do we really have to apply
Hey! Someone’s already replied to your query.. I was going to say the exact same thing, haha. Don’t let the grades aspect hold you back from the SMU application though, give it a shot anyway cuz she’ll never know unless she never applies, all the very best!
Hi greetings I am Indian student looking interested to do my undergrad from Singapore University so can you detail me about like when to start my application before or after 12 th boards and what you wrote in your application that you got selected .Also abt 3yr bond and 6 yr bond the salary which I gill get during that period will be compensating my fees or will I be paid some part of it .I would be grateful if you reply
You can apply before your 12th boards are done, basically once the application portal opens. Regarding the bond, you don’t have to pay anything back as such, all you have to do is work in Singapore or a Singaporean entity for those 3 or 6 years.
Hi! I’m not a part of the admissions team so I can’t say anything for sure, but extracurriculars play an important role for SMU, definitely more than NUS or NTU. I’d say quality over quantity for this, as long as you have at least some extracurriculars that you have put a decent amount of effort in, I think it’s good to go!
I want your truest response to my question! If i did a MSc in finance, what will be the value of that degree in INDIA, will i get job opportunities? Will i not? Because i saw on quora and some YT videos as well they all said that you won't be getting the same value as you ll get in Singapore. What is your take on this? How much value does Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) Msc in finance holds?
Hi, I don’t know much about the master programmes in Singapore, I’m sorry! If you’re wondering about jobs in Singapore, I’d say it depends on a bunch of variables - the government’s standpoint on foreign employment, the job market, your CV, etc. so I can’t say anything for sure. But in general, getting a job in Singapore is definitely challenging to a certain extent for international students because you’ll have to do many applications and simply hope for the best. And again, I’m not an SIM student so I have no idea how the course is, but from what I’ve noticed, companies often show a preference towards local universities (SMU, NUS, NTU) over private universities like SIM. So that could possibly make things hard for getting a job (but still, it’s not impossible I’m sure!) In terms of value, that really depends on what you value! :p From my experience as a psych major in SMU it’s been incredible, I’ve gotten a lot of exposure to different cultures, opportunities and what not - but I’m sure if I studied in India, there would’ve been things I’d value there too! Hope that helps.
Hii Aashmika ! I want to do bba from singapore and i have not prepared for any IELTS,TOFFLE,SAT etc I want to get a college which can give me direct admission on the basis of my 12th grade Can you plz help me in finding a college which give direct admission on the basis of my 12th grades
hello aashmika hope you are doing well , i just wanted to know 3 year tiution grant is only available for public universities ? is it also available for private universities or not ?
Did you write any of the exams listed in the SMU websites and is it compulsary to write them ? ~ (SAT / ACT / IELTS / TOEFL / C1 Advanced / PTE Academic)
I only gave TOEFL and my score passed the requirement for SMU! You can do either IELTS or TOEFL, and if the application process is still the same, I think SAT is optional. All the best! :)
Hi Aashmika, Is it feasible to find part time work while continuing with our studies. As I have heard that working is illegal on a student visa, so are there any employers that actually hire students. Need your comments.
Hey there! Yes, it is completely feasible to find a part time job when you’re on STUDENT PASS (if you’re on dependent pass; it would NOT be allowed!) Working would be illegal only if you exceed the weekly work hour limit as stipulated by the ministry of manpower. For more details, you can check their website: www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits/work-pass-exemption-for-foreign-students
Hey i am thinking to apply for Singapore universitys … but i am bit confused which university is the best for masters in logistics and supply chain management… If you know then reply me … I am planning for 2024 sep intake…
Hey! I’m not too sure about Master Courses so I won’t be the best person to answer this, sorry! But I do know that supply chain management and operation management is quite a good undergrad course in SMU. You can check out the university websites and testimonials to see if the courses are good, hope that helps!
Mam can u please guide me for applying in undergrad course (btech in case/Ai / data science ) in singapore currently i'm a 12th pass student preparing for jee mains / advanced from india
Hi! So as a psychology student, I can’t really help out much for a course in engineering, haha. But all I can say with my limited knowledge is that SMU does not offer any courses under the hard sciences! So you can consider applying to NUS and NTU as they do have engineering courses and they primarily look at 12th grade marks so do your best for that, all the best! :)
Hi! Is it possible to get into smu with 89.2% in cbse board science stream (without maths)? (And little bit of co curriculars) Or is that a long shot? Would love a realistic answer :’)
Hey there! Okay, so what I’m gonna say is just an opinion. Don’t consider it as the final say because obviously, I’m not in the SMU admissions team and I don’t know how it actually works, haha. So my conditional offer stated that I need 90+ in each subject to confirm my offer into SMU. Additionally, I feel like SMU does appreciate students who have a holistic profile in general with concorriculars. So if you think your extracurriculars can pull through considering that 89.2 is very close to the 90 mark and that your co-curriculars are decent, then you do have a pretty good chance. All the best! 💌

Nope, SMU mainly has courses under Commerce, Humanities and Computer Science. You can check out their website for more details on their undergrad and master programmes!
@@aashmikavarma I will check.Thanks for your reply.
Ayo fellow bangalorean here 😅 considering singapore for my masters , whats ur take on the job market of singapore?
Can you tell me where are u living rn? Flat, dorm or condos?
I’m currently living with my parents in a condo as my dad happened to get a job here when I got my uni offer!
Hi
How are the professor's in Singapore?
Do you know anything about LLM?
is it better than uptron?
What was ur board percentage dii??
it does not matter, money matters
Hey! I got 97.2% in 12th CBSE boards
is there any chance to get full scholarship for these universities? mainly nsu and ntu cause im science student? Also what are some things that helped your application stand out more in your opinion?
Yes, I’ve heard of someone who got full scholarship in NTU, so I definitely think it’s possible. You can check out the uni websites for the scholarship and financial aid details!
For your second question - I think good grades, overall holistic profile with a bunch of extracurriculars and a smooth interview probably helped me for SMU. I’ll talk about this in more detail in my application video!
@@aashmikavarma oooh thank you so muchhb, when will the application video be out??
How to contact you Ashima
To answer your second question - I applied to SMU for their Bachelor’s in Social Science programme (B.
Can i know what part time jobs are you doing .
And which course are you studying now
Thanks for the video🎉🎉❤❤

Most unis in Singapore require more than 90%
and usually applications open during October n November
you can apply already, the deadline is not so far away
Hey! Someone’s already replied to your query.. I was going to say the exact same thing, haha.
Don’t let the grades aspect hold you back from the SMU application though, give it a shot anyway cuz she’ll never know unless she never applies, all the very best!
Didi How much percentage you got in 12th ?
Hey, I got 97.2% in 12th CBSE boards
Application process
@@aashmikavarma does having a lot of extracurriculars matter in smu? escpecially speaking as a student who has only very basic extracurriculars
Hi! I’m not a part of the admissions team so I can’t say anything for sure, but extracurriculars play an important role for SMU, definitely more than NUS or NTU.
I’d say quality over quantity for this, as long as you have at least some extracurriculars that you have put a decent amount of effort in, I think it’s good to go!
can an international student survive in Singapore by doing only part time jobs? can they pay tuition fee + other cost by only doing part time jobs?
Hey! I’ve answered your question in this video: ua-cam.com/video/RRu8Didb1GM/v-deo.htmlsi=3wNb5yGv7geCHl4U
So that could possibly make things hard for getting a job (but still, it’s not impossible I’m sure!)
In terms of value, that really depends on what you value! :p
From my experience as a psych major in SMU it’s been incredible, I’ve gotten a lot of exposure to different cultures, opportunities and what not - but I’m sure if I studied in India, there would’ve been things I’d value there too!
Hope that helps.
I have less marks in 10th im i eligible to study in Singapore?

Hey! Mainly public universities offer tuition grant, you can check out MOE’s website for more details (I’ve attached the link in the description)
How can I chat with you? I have question about SMU scholarship
Message me on Instagram - @amikaukulele
Did you write any of the exams listed in the SMU websites and is it compulsary to write them ?
~ (SAT / ACT / IELTS / TOEFL / C1 Advanced / PTE Academic)
I only gave TOEFL and my score passed the requirement for SMU! You can do either IELTS or TOEFL, and if the application process is still the same, I think SAT is optional. All the best! :)
Hi!!! What was your TOEFL score?

Hi Aashmika, Is it feasible to find part time work while continuing with our studies. As I have heard that working is illegal on a student visa, so are there any employers that actually hire students. Need your comments.
Hey there! Yes, it is completely feasible to find a part time job when you’re on STUDENT PASS (if you’re on dependent pass; it would NOT be allowed!)
Working would be illegal only if you exceed the weekly work hour limit as stipulated by the ministry of manpower. For more details, you can check their website: www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits/work-pass-exemption-for-foreign-students

Hey i am thinking to apply for Singapore universitys … but i am bit confused which university is the best for masters in logistics and supply chain management…
If you know then reply me …
I am planning for 2024 sep intake…
@@aashmikavarma thanks a lot for ur regards
