Hey this was really helpful! Can you make a video on where you're staying as a student the expense and application video as our boards results are out in may or june ielts scores and what if I have no co curricular activities!?
I’m staying with my parents as my dad happened to get a job the same time I got my college offer, so there’s not much I could share about my accommodation situation as it is different from other international students. However, if you’re interested, I can make a video on what Prinsep Residencies is like! As per co-curriculars, it really depends on what the uni is looking for. Hey! What do you mean by personal profile? And tbh the group interview was more of a conversation and discussion, it was very short, around 15 mins with 2 other applicants.

Yes, I’ve heard of someone who got full scholarship in NTU, so I definitely think it’s possible. You can check out the uni websites for the scholarship and financial aid details! For your second question - I think good grades, overall holistic profile with a bunch of extracurriculars and a smooth interview probably helped me for SMU. I’ll talk about this in more detail in my application video!

Hi Aashmika, Is it feasible to find part time work while continuing with our studies. As I have heard that working is illegal on a student visa, so are there any employers that actually hire students. Need your comments.
Hey there! Yes, it is completely feasible to find a part time job when you’re on STUDENT PASS (if you’re on dependent pass; it would NOT be allowed!) Working would be illegal only if you exceed the weekly work hour limit as stipulated by the ministry of manpower. For more details, you can check their website: www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits/work-pass-exemption-for-foreign-students
Hi Aashmika, it is an excellent video with lots of data and info I've been looking for! Thank you for your efforts :) I'm also planning to study at SMU, so how can I direct message to you for further information and support, please ?

You can apply before your 12th boards are done, basically once the application portal opens. Regarding the bond, you don’t have to pay anything back as such, all you have to do is work in Singapore or a Singaporean entity for those 3 or 6 years.
Hi! I’m not a part of the admissions team so I can’t say anything for sure, but extracurriculars play an important role for SMU, definitely more than NUS or NTU. I’d say quality over quantity for this, as long as you have at least some extracurriculars that you have put a decent amount of effort in, I think it’s good to go!
hi there! :) so rumour has it that my batch had a cutoff of 95%, though my conditional offer stated that as long as I get 90+ in each subject, my offer will be confirmed. So you can keep 90+ as the goal and as long as you get higher you’ll be safe!
Hi! Is it possible to get into smu with 89.2% in cbse board science stream (without maths)? (And little bit of co curriculars) Or is that a long shot? Would love a realistic answer :’)
Hey there! Okay, so what I’m gonna say is just an opinion. Don’t consider it as the final say because obviously, I’m not in the SMU admissions team and I don’t know how it actually works, haha. So my conditional offer stated that I need 90+ in each subject to confirm my offer into SMU. Additionally, I feel like SMU does appreciate students who have a holistic profile in general with concorriculars. So if you think your extracurriculars can pull through considering that 89.2 is very close to the 90 mark and that your co-curriculars are decent, then you do have a pretty good chance. All the best! 💌
@@aashmikavarma admission process in detail. Like do we need to submit SAT score or any other exam's score? How much time did they take to get back to u
I want your truest response to my question! If i did a MSc in finance, what will be the value of that degree in INDIA, will i get job opportunities? Will i not? Because i saw on quora and some YT videos as well they all said that you won't be getting the same value as you ll get in Singapore. What is your take on this? How much value does Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) Msc in finance holds?
Hi, I don’t know much about the master programmes in Singapore, I’m sorry! If you’re wondering about jobs in Singapore, I’d say it depends on a bunch of variables - the government’s standpoint on foreign employment, the job market, your CV, etc. so I can’t say anything for sure. But in general, getting a job in Singapore is definitely challenging to a certain extent for international students because you’ll have to do many applications and simply hope for the best. And again, I’m not an SIM student so I have no idea how the course is, but from what I’ve noticed, companies often show a preference towards local universities (SMU, NUS, NTU) over private universities like SIM. So that could possibly make things hard for getting a job (but still, it’s not impossible I’m sure!) In terms of value, that really depends on what you value! :p From my experience as a psych major in SMU it’s been incredible, I’ve gotten a lot of exposure to different cultures, opportunities and what not - but I’m sure if I studied in India, there would’ve been things I’d value there too! Hope that helps.
Hii! Aashmika didi, just wanted to know how the overall process of studying psychology has been at SMU, I'm really interested in studying psychology there as well, also can you pls mention whether you're doing a double major or a double minor, which program did you opt to study? Thanks a lot, great video!!
Hi! What do you mean by overall process? :) To answer your second question - I applied to SMU for their Bachelor’s in Social Science programme (B. SocSc) and opted for a double major only after I came to university. SMU has very flexible choices for majors so you can choose to second major from any other school in SMU or from your primary school (in my case, social sciences).
@@aashmikavarma Thanks a ton! for the quick reply, By the overall process I meant, how are the professors, the quality of the concepts being taught, and research inclination? In short your overall experience and do you recommend studying psychology to students who are interested in the same?
Did you write any of the exams listed in the SMU websites and is it compulsary to write them ? ~ (SAT / ACT / IELTS / TOEFL / C1 Advanced / PTE Academic)
I only gave TOEFL and my score passed the requirement for SMU! You can do either IELTS or TOEFL, and if the application process is still the same, I think SAT is optional. All the best! :)
Hey i am thinking to apply for Singapore universitys … but i am bit confused which university is the best for masters in logistics and supply chain management… If you know then reply me … I am planning for 2024 sep intake…
Hey! I’m not too sure about Master Courses so I won’t be the best person to answer this, sorry! But I do know that supply chain management and operation management is quite a good undergrad course in SMU. You can check out the university websites and testimonials to see if the courses are good, hope that helps!
Nope, SMU mainly has courses under Commerce, Humanities and Computer Science. You can check out their website for more details on their undergrad and master programmes!

Hi! So as a psychology student, I can’t really help out much for a course in engineering, haha. But all I can say with my limited knowledge is that SMU does not offer any courses under the hard sciences! So you can consider applying to NUS and NTU as they do have engineering courses and they primarily look at 12th grade marks so do your best for that, all the best! :)

Hi there! Oh man, it took soooo much time. I don’t remember the exact time it took (so sorry about that!) but I do remember it took quite some time. I think for about a month or so I was only relying on my In Principal Approval (IPA) Letter because the VISA appointments were totally booked out till the year end or something. Thankfully, SMU opened up some ad-hoc appointment slots within the campus itself and that’s what really quickened up the process. Hope that helps!

Plz make a video about application process of smu??
Hi, could you let me know what exactly you’d like me to cover in the video? I’ve already started working on it! :)
So that could possibly make things hard for getting a job (but still, it’s not impossible I’m sure!)
In terms of value, that really depends on what you value! :p
From my experience as a psych major in SMU it’s been incredible, I’ve gotten a lot of exposure to different cultures, opportunities and what not - but I’m sure if I studied in India, there would’ve been things I’d value there too!
Hope that helps.
But why not malaysia japan southkorea ?
I have less marks in 10th im i eligible to study in Singapore?
Can you tell me where are u living rn? Flat, dorm or condos?
I’m currently living with my parents in a condo as my dad happened to get a job here when I got my uni offer!
To answer your second question - I applied to SMU for their Bachelor’s in Social Science programme (B.
Hi!!! What was your TOEFL score?

Hey i am thinking to apply for Singapore universitys … but i am bit confused which university is the best for masters in logistics and supply chain management…
If you know then reply me …
I am planning for 2024 sep intake…
Hey! I’m not too sure about Master Courses so I won’t be the best person to answer this, sorry! But I do know that supply chain management and operation management is quite a good undergrad course in SMU.
You can check out the university websites and testimonials to see if the courses are good, hope that helps!
What about MDIS university
Is SMU provide diploma course in Healthcare ?
Nope, SMU mainly has courses under Commerce, Humanities and Computer Science. You can check out their website for more details on their undergrad and master programmes!
@@aashmikavarma I will check.Thanks for your reply.

Hello Aashima , Im coming Singapore , can we meet ?
Mam can u please guide me for applying in undergrad course (btech in case/Ai / data science ) in singapore currently i'm a 12th pass student preparing for jee mains / advanced from india
@@aashmikavarma thanks a lot for ur regards

how long did it take for visa approval, ?
@@aashmikavarma thank you for the quick responce and feedback. i applied for visa last week as student visa, i got my offer letter for october intake. waiting for visa xD

Hi, Aashmika! This is a very helpful video! :) I was just wondering after applying, when exactly were you shortlisted for the interview? I'm an applicant and really want to attend SMU🥲
Hi! Got my interview email on 25th April and conditional offer on 6th July :)
Hope that helps, all the best!
@@aashmikavarma sorry to bother you but could you please explain what the smu conditional was? Did they just want you to pass the 12th grade or did they want you to meet your application scores? also what was your score with which you applied?
Hey! The SMU conditional offer I received was to attain a minimum of 90 in each subject for my 12th grade CBSE boards. I got an overall of 97.2% so the offer got confirmed eventually. I don’t know if they wanted to meet predicted scores, but my predicted score was almost the same - 96% or so. Hope that answers your question! :)
