I never saw them trying to literally shoot someone else's form. I see dudes now literally trying to do Kyrie's moves, rather than emulating. There's a difference between incorporating that player's move into your game and then being that specific player. Dudes are like clones when they try to master Kyrie's moves or Harden's step back.
