I forgot to mention in the video that there are a bunch of countries in the Balkans and eastern Europe that are open now, some of which don't require vaccination or even a Covid test. They are: Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Georgia, Ukraine and Belarus. If you know of any others comment below. And see these links for more info about which countries are open, which ones are opening soon and what the entry requirements are:

Feel free to discuss the issue in the comments below, but I don't want this particular thread to be an ongoing discussion about masks and conspiracy theories. This thread is intended to be about which countries are open to tourism and entry requirements, etc.

Hi Gabriel. Glad to see you back in Europe and doing your thing.
May I ask, what proof did you provide to enter Greece? I have been fully vaccinated (Pfizer) but Canada, my home country, doesn't have a standard, internationally accepted "vaccine passport". Also, I hadn't heard from any sources that the U.S. has one either.
Did you just need to produce your 2 vaccine certificates? Or whatever they have in the U.S.? In Canada our vaccines are distributed and administered by our provincial governments not our federal government. Its still very confusing in Canada...lol.
      Thanks and enjoy!

@@donlee2053 The vaccine card they gave me when I got the shots did the trick. I don't think there's any other kind of proof at this point. Maybe they will create something more universal in the future.

Very nice video,if you are interested and still here in athens, you can visit the first cemetery, there are a lot of amazing statues there and tombs of famous greek people, for me its worth a visit and its near the central athens (really close to Panathenaic Stadium), another place I would like to visit and I suggest to others to visit too is the commonwealth cemetry (WW2 cemetry for the ally troops that gave their lives for greece!) Its a really interesting place too.
I know Athens isnt great and it can be really ugly and depressing some times but it has a lot of little things that makes it beautiful..

there are many immigrant ghettos, whole areas that you will rarely see Greeks, only from Africa, Asia! are paid to do graffiti, live on state benefits, the life of Greeks has become unbearable, as the whole center is full of immigrants.greece is a gateway for immigrants, 30 years ago it was so different, athens with many old buildings but much cleaner, now we have lost our city, soon all over europe so it will be 😥😥😥

@@GabrielTravelerVideosGabriel I love your videos but calling Athens mundane is not the most accurate way to describe the city!! Of course in terms of architecture it cant compete to the likes of Rome, Paris or Prague, however in terms of world class museums, exhibitions, restaurants, and cultural life in general its probably amongst the very top of European cities. And dont forget that you can grab a Tram from the very centre and find yourself in some very beautiful beaches in no time. Give yourself the chance to explore Athens a bit more without the very 90's stereotypes of "Athens is ugly, just escape to the Islands", and the city will not dissapoint!!Have a fantastic time in Greece Gabriel!!

These ATMs are all across Europe.. I'm really surprised consumers have not complained enough for these ATMs to be outlawed and banned with their dirty conversion methods.

Hi Gabriel, awesome content! I was thinking about traveling to Greece in 2-3 weeks with my girlfriend , but wasn’t sure if it was worth it with the covid restrictions in place. This video definitely helped, and I look forward to watching the rest of the videos in this series. In your opinion, is it worth to travel to Greece (Athens -> Santorini -> Mykonos) right now?

The ATM's in Amsterdam try pulling that too. Beware, especially when going to an ATM in the centrum. Last time I took about 1k EU with me that I got from my bank at home in the states, much more fair exchange rate. Just don't take too much or you'll have to declare it in the airport

Hi Gabe, you made a couple of mistakes/omissions, when you talked about restrictions for tourists and travelling inside Greece.
    1) For the time being there is a curfew in place from 00:30 at night to 05:00 in the morning.
    2) Also for the time being cafeterias do not play music, as this will induce screaming between the clients and thus easier spreading of the virus
    but most important
    3) If a tourist wants to travel from continental Greece to an island (with the exception of Salamina, Lefkada and Evvia) and does NOT meet AT LEAST one of the following requirements
    (a) He/She is fully vaccinated
    (b) He/She has contracted the virus in the last 9 months
    (c) He/She has been in continental Greece for LESS than three days since his/her arrival which means that his/her PCR test has NOT expired
then this tourist HAS to do a rapid covid test before leaving the coninent.
You will have no problem, as you meet requirement (a), but others might...

Thanks for the info. I took a ferry today, they just require that you fill out a form saying you don't have Covid.

@@GabrielTravelerVideos no negative selftest ? Is it ok to travel from the states to Athens with just a negative test proof ? Do they make you to get another test upon arrival in airport too??
