I tried all of them and I still sinks 😂
Keep practicing. Ask someone for feedback and guidance
I asked a lifeguard why do I keep sinking and he said it's because I workout my legs a lot so it's a lot of muscle. The irony of having strong legs. I don't think its impossible though just will get tired fast
@@marshall966 using your legs too much can be counterproductive but with the right technique, you should be able to tread regardless of muscle mass
@@traindalywhat about body density. If you have negative buoyancy.
@@julianblacksmith8539 that’s definitely a factor but it’s not all or nothing. With the right technique for you, you can master swimming. Have a coach take a formal look
Okay I'm going to practice and believe I will one day do it effortlessly. Thank you sir.
Yes, you will become more efficient the more you practice. have fun
The breast stroke kick, seems to be the most efficient.
it can be, the egg beater kick is a version of breaststroke, but has a better ebb and flow or contract/relax with the alternating legs
Thanks now I can move anywhere in deep water and swim arround with my friends😊
Wow! Nice work
I have a swimming test to float or tread for 60 secs for the merchants seaman and I’m so scared 😅 but I think this will help , have not swim since 2020
@@breonoutlaw2652dats crazy im doing da same thing how u did ?😂
@@breonoutlaw2652I haven’t swim for almost 2 years and somehow passed the test last week first try! (Even the 25m swim test)so I’m sure you can do it too
I loke "the rock" metode the most. It involves gringing my heavy butt right down into the abyss that is water
😂
@@traindaly😂
most beginners arent fit enough traed vertically like this so better to float on back with small sweep hand movements
Yes, some may not be able to start here. When you are ready, here are a few tips
How to take breath during water trade? Because I have seen many people chit-chatting during the water trading
at first, it may be best to lean back, face to the sky to breathe. As you get better, you will be able to comfortably keep your head above water, talk and tread. A big lunge full of air, with quick sips of air in and out, helps with buoyancy
Okay, Thank you for your guidance 😊
thanks, I think the words "eggbeater style" will really help me when I'm in the water
Yes good visual. Hope it helps
This one is too fast, you can lean forward and slower the tempo. Less energy expense and more relaxed.
Thanks for sharing!
I need to learn how to tread water for 2 minutes hands above water for my job in the military. What are some dry land exercises I can do in the meantime
Id spend most of your time focusing on technique and fitness of treading. squats and single leg exercises may help a little - front loaded in the goblet position to mimic the load of hands above water
Thx i won my swimming completion
congrats!
Way easier if you lean forward, requires half the energy
Thanks for sharing some tips
Agree
@@sharondalton7632 👊
Yeah, I tried that the fist time when I went swimming. And it worked
Does the feet and hand moving need to be fast like that all the time or u can also do it slowly?
You can play with the tempo. Could definitely be slower
Thanks
👊
I am able to tread water with very little effort while keeping my head tilted backwards and my chin level with the water ....They seem to use alot of leg movements in this tutorial
There are many ways to tread. Your suggestion is a great low effort way to tread. Nice work
@@traindaly I'll be honest ....I go swimming 3-5 times a week now so I just managed to improve the technique....I've only really had my confidence back 2 years now ....Before that I was rarely in the water but now it's kinda of a passion but I don't do it as a professional just as a healthy activity.
@@peterah7957 wel done. The treading technique you are suggesting is very efficient and best for a beginner. What Im showing here may be more of an energetic tread you'd see in water polo or other activities. Thanks for sharing. Keep swimming
@@traindaly That makes sense now you have explained it thanks 👍
so i HAVE to move at 8'x speed or can i just move normally?😅
Play with your tempo
Superb talented
Thanks!
How do you swim/ride waves like in the ocean, or wave pool?
In a streamline position. Checkout some bodysurfing videos

This might be a random question, but how much do you weigh? I wanted to know if my weight is okay to scull in deep water before I try it and drown 😅 (I weigh 170-180)
I weight 180lbs. It’s less about how much you way and more about your body composition. Some of us float easier than others but with improved technique and breath control most can tread with ease
@@traindaly Okay! Thanks for answering my (unnecessary) question! I'll give it a shot tomorrow at my school pool when I go swimming! Thanks! 😁😁
@@Jarhead25 let me know how it goes
@@traindaly Okay! I hope I can go swimming tomorrow! I'll let you know afterwards! Thanks!
@@traindaly Okay I am back from school
Look how aggressively this tempo is, what the heck.
Tempo can vary
Do I have to relax
it should be fairly relaxed, once you get the hang of it. Could likely be much slower than the tempo here. Try leaning back a little, and keeping your lungs full of air for better buoyancy

THIS HELPED ME SO MUCHH
Glad it’s helpful
I love swimming but none of them works i keep sinking also im young so idk..
Can you describe your challenges more? Have a coach take a look.
I have trouble doing breastroke kick 🙁 any tips please?
Have a coach take a look, get some video, and see what you need to specifically focus on
Is egg beater kick and alternate breastroke kick the same?
Yes
It's also usefull for lifeguards!
Absolutely! 💪🏊♂️
Yeah, as a lifeguard one of the requirements to get certified is treading water without using arms for 2 minutes. Also, in situations like deep water rescues, I can’t bring a tube with me underwater so I need to be able to keep someone’s head above water with just my legs while I get my tube. Luckily I haven’t had to do a real deep water rescue.
@@roxy5659 yhea, i'm doing the lifeguard career in argentina, it is 1 year and is really exhausting. The final exam si rescue 3 people in a mildly dangerous river, one after another
@@joaquincontreras9049 that sounds intense, lifeguarding seems to be taken very seriously in Argentina. For me, I went through some lessons online, then had 8 in-person classes for swim tests, save/cpr/first aid practice, and written tests. In the US, or at least in my state, pool guarding certification and beach/river/pond guarding certification are two different things, I have a pool cert but beach cert is harder. I work at a small water park that gets a lot of kids who can’t swim, so saves are frequent but easy. I have had to do a triple save though (that paperwork was fun)
@joaquincontreras9049 wow, that’s a challenging test
did it and still sinks
Keep practicing. Having a coach work with you can help
Put ur hips wider buddy
👍
Most of the videos they be in deep water like you think a beginner will even try it
Probably not for beginners if you cant tread a little in deep water already
@@traindaly I'm 6'1", but my gym's pool only goes to a little more than 4 ft. How do I practice treading water in water so shallow. P.S. I can't swim, period. Trying to learn.
@@teeoh9192 treading in water that shallow, especially as tall as you are is hard. I wouldn't necessarily start someone who cant swim with treading, Id work more on floating face down and on your back, and teaching the freestyle and safety positions. You might find treading comes more natural after learning how to swim at the surface first.
Yeah i did all if these all under water 🤣.
😂 hope you’re making progress!
@traindaly day 2... will be back at it lol
@@samphillips5603 good luck
This looks like too much work is there another way
Play with your breath and tempo, you don’t need to move that much or often to keep your mouth above the surface
When I try this I get extremely tired
Start with shorter efforts and build your stamina. You don’t have to work as hard as you think. Keep you lungs full with air, exchanging quick sips in and out only as needed.
Coffee bitter
👍
Bad method
What would you change and why?
That’s not how you egg beater
What’s not?
@@traindaly you did egg beater wrong your legs were to straight it’s supposed to be like your sitting in a chair
@@pPmAn475 thanks for the tip
@@traindalyif you look up how to egg beater and watch the video by Peter somthing he’ll show the correct form
@@pPmAn475thank you 😃
