- What's up guys, On todays video I am taking you up to Jones creek gold fossicking area to see if we can find some public gold on one of the New Zealand gold fossicking sites.
I only get time to do some test panning and run a few buckets of gold through the sluice. We do how ever find some color and have an awesome day!

Definitely still worth getting out there! It's as much about the fun as the gold.
We did the exact spot below where you parked. Dug out the concrete structure, got our first result ever from Jones creek Ross. Even saw a shoal of whitebait in the spot while we were digging
They are Kokupu whitebait.
Do you have to pay tax when you sell gold here in NZ?
It is quite amazing to see that the geology and size of the creek is almost identical to a claim I have in Northern CA, its no wonder it has gold.
It's a pretty awesome place t0 spend time looking for gold. Do you get good gold out of your claim?
