    Lesson learned from this video:
    1. Why Humanoid form?
    - The humanoid form is necessary for robots to assist humans with their tasks, as it allows them to be the same size as humans and work with human tools and equipment.
    - If they're helper employees, it make us feel much more natural to talk to that humanoid form factor
    2. Why is AI robots developing now?
    - Booming development of AI LLMs, Computer vision
    - The hardware is getting smaller & smaller but still powerful processing
    - Now, it is now more feasible to train robots in virtual environments before deploying them in the real world
    - The price for robots will be less and less expensive in the near future
    3. Is there a market for them?
    - Hazadous jobs
    - Any area lack of resources for production

I hope it soon becomes international law that only robots can participate in wars. This horrific loss of human lives is entirely unnecessary in my opinion, and achieves nothing but show your dominance or get back at other nations through sheer brute force. On the contrary, we've gotten much worse than the apparent "brutality" of wild animals, despite our incredible intellect and reasoning. Our destructive capabilities are truly horrific, and not even for legitimate reasons like getting a much-needed meal or feeding young.
I just feel like this has to stop or we'll just be seen as a disgrace of a civilization by extraterrestrial life.

Robots will be prohibitively expensive to start, but very soon the prices will drop as manufacturing efficiencies are developed, and economies of scale kick in. The bottom line is, when a robot can do a job cheaper, more efficiently, and better than a human, that human job will be replaced with a robot job.

We've almost got everything we need! Imagine language models for images and text acting as a robot's 'consciousness', planning and strategizing. These could work alongside another system focused on the robot's movement and stability, allowing for autonomous reactions. But how would we build this robot controller? It would need to be trained with data on how robots move and operate in various environments, and how they respond to complex instructions. Integrating advanced AI software with robotic hardware, the possibilities are vast!

With robotics, the thing I keep coming back to is Asimov's idea of the most useful robot - it would literally be some kind of ball with thousands of very maluable tentacles that could form into all sorts of shapes, it could literally do anything. I don't think being humanoid-shaped is an ideal that robotics should be aiming for, it's an end goal we can work towards, but is the time for it yet? Technically we've had non-humanoid robots for quite some time, robotic arms have been used in industry quite a lot. AI is being used in industry, like recycling sorting machines. I think what would be good in the meantime is dedicated robots for certain laborious tasks being made available in human spaces, like shopping malls, or set up in vans that can travel around. Expect household appliances to improve from all this, too.

Stores need a robot assistant that walks around the store asking customers if they would like help. It would have the knowledge of all the products and where they are located and would be able to tell, show, or get the product for the customer. 7:54 - "Fourier" is a clever name for a transformer-tech assisted robot, since it's likely named for the Fourier Transformation, which can take a specific set of coordinates and translate them to a new one.

    • @dasistdiewahrheit9585
      @dasistdiewahrheit9585 Місяць тому

No, the FT does not transform sets of coordinates into other sets of coordinates. The FT transforms functions into their frequency domain representation. There are also countless other things that are named after Fourier.

I'm all about new tech AI and robotics but I still understand the concern for the decimation of the labor force. As robots take over jobs who buys the products they create? What becomes of the displaced labor force? Not fun questions to ask but certainly ones that should be considered as we plunge full on into the future of these new robots. Many of the sci-fi movies that the engineers were inspired by were cautionary tales.

First off what you say about having robots to help around the house video at 14:00, I don't think so cause no one besides the rich could afford it. The other thing at 14:15 I don't believe it for a second. Once the robots gets more advanced, a lot of manufactures will start placing robots in their work industry due to a lot of reasons. A robot never gets sick, one robot can do the same amount of work than 5 to 10 people can, robots can work 24/7 with no days off or vacation time! I really believe these robots will take a lot of human jobs and from what I have seen, I think it's going to happen a lot faster than people think. That is SUPER Scary!
