*Correction at **3:55* 16 Series have solid back and sides, and can be both Rosewood or Mahogany (Mahogany models are signified with an M in the name).
My First guitar was a Yamaha F335, I got it 1980 and it still sounds great , It’s a natural top and it has aged beautifully, I agree with Jack great bang for your buck, or pound in this case. LOL

I've always preferred Martins and have owned three over the years. Just recently however I visited The Yamaha store in London and I have to say the L16 and 26 series are absolutely stunning. I'm now a Yamaha convert.

Yamaha l16, played the l6 series and it was good but the l16 rivals martins and taylors double or triple its price
I'm buying the ls6 here in India for above $600 ... because of the all the duty fees 😭
