Thanks for another great review. I have owned this guitar for 5 years now and it's still one of my very favorite go to instruments. Like a fine wine this guitar only improves as time goes by. Love it. Zero regrets.
Hi ! I like your presentations very much. The LS16 And LS16M are both wonderful, but there is no comparaison between them on UA-cam. Would you please do that ? It would be very helpful for all folks that are hesitating between these two. Thank you very much in advance.
For me, this series is not about the Mahogany or the Rosewood. This series is all about the top wood. It’s the Engelmann and I love the Engelmann Spruce on this series. Very responsive. I have the pre-ARE, 3-pc neck LS6. Another amazing Yamaha acoustic.
I own an FS5 mahogany and it is also a great sounding guitar. Yamaha makes extraordinary guitars. The LS and LL series are incredible instruments. My LL26 is a great guitar as well, in rosewood. Great reviews! Thanks
I bought a used one in mint conditions two days ago. The strings were used and I don’t know what style of strings were on it, but don’t sound good. I put Martin Tommy Emmanuel strings on my Yamaha 820 and it sounds good, my 1995 Taylor 422 Grand concert I put Elixir and sound too bright, what do you superset for my LS16M..
Thanks for sharing. I am usually not a big fan of mahogony very soft as well. But the LS16M is the only one, so far feels much better than then rosewood coutnerpart - at least to me. Is it by chance due to the modified non scallop bracing + engelman top?
@@limjunyih9791 the top is engelmann which provides that sweet trebles coupled with the non scallop bracing which accentuates it .. coupled with the mahogany back and sides which is less bass heaving ( muddy ) compared to the indian rosewood you get a tone not often found out that .. woody , organic and sweets plus a balance sounding one ..
@@TheGuitarSpaSingapore yeah man it's pretty unexpected but I witnessed it when testing between both of them and liked the M version more despite am more towards fingerstyle I usually love the overtone of Sitka or Indian rosewood but now, I need to listen to decide better due to how the guitar is being built
Hi, great review. May I ask how you are recording the audio for the guitar in this review? Are you using one condenser mic for both the vocals & guitar? I have this same guitar, and it sounds beautiful in person, but it sounds a lot different once I try to record it using an SM57 dynamic mic or via the pick-up. To be honest, the best recording I've managed to get was on my iPad's mic.
I would love to see the mahogany vs the rosewood.
Me too.
Saw your review of the LJ16 ARE and I now own one. No regrets. Keep making great videos!!

yes it sure is
On this guitar I had upgrade nut and saddle with bone (and pins on ebony). Wonderful consequences on the sound. Amazing!
Told you the benefits

There is something about a Yamaha acoustic guitar. Sounds great with my headphones.
