I remember when Vivek stepped up on that debate stage, and I thought "used car salesmen". For whatever reason, I started looking into Vivek. I have since listened to almoat every single piece of content he has either put out, or put out on him. My skepticism faded, my confidence of him grew, and after listening to him for so many hours, he makes me emotional at this point. Hes not just "the better of the 2" like we've gotten so used to... he's THE person I personally WANT to sit in the White House. I'm not saying I agree with 100% of what he stands for... but I have seen this man unite. I've seen him have constructive conversations even when the other party was very unfair, even hostile at times. He has class, intelligence, and passion. Vivek 2028
The fact that he made public in full ALL of his tax returns BEFORE he entered politics convinced me at the outset that he is unique. Like you, it took me a lot of listening to realize that he is a man of immense integrity and genuine patriotism. Who in today's political landscape preaches (and practices) long forgotten conservative values, like chastity before marriage and unflinching fidelity to your spouse. Unlike Trump, who lacks in moral character, Vivek could never be blackmailed or hauled into court of law.
Yeah, I hear that in this interview. In debates, he comes across as a used car salesmen. Seems to do better when he has time to organize his thoughts. And commendable how he steel manned the liberal viewpoint from an empathetic perspective.
In my opinion, every republican who has endorsed Trump should never be taken seriously again. Once Trump is out of the way, all these figures will try to reinvent themselves and pretend they never believed any of the things Trump rambles about every day. They are opportunists, grifters, posers. Vivek comes across as intelligent but has "sold his soul" to be close to power. Same applies to JD Vance.
My experience exactly and join with so many others with open minds and optimistic belief in what lies ahead if we will do the real work. Thanks for putting it so succinctly. Cheerio.

lex shows some of his true colors on this one - sad how closed minded he is about what rotten stuff people do to retain/regain power. vivek ruled as usual.

lex bothered me just a bit on this one. at first i thought he was just being a beautiful pawn piece to ask vivek hard policy questions and criticisms to let vivek truly explain his mind and preach his stances, good journalism. But then throughout the pod i felt like lex's energy was off a bit. I got the vibe that lex didnt trust or believe some of vivek stances and policy. Specifically on the illegal immigration portion where lex was so eager to get to because of the controversy and hot topics, vivek went scorched earth on the policy and legality of the immigration system and a fix. Lex even starts one of his statements or questions "i havent studied this rigorously but.." then still tries to assert claims of information hes seen to suggest criminality statistics of illegals and legal migrants vs americans. Then before vivek is to respond, lex seemed to be agitated with the upcoming response from vivek. 1:26:13. Ive seen this exact pattern of behavior within academic circles where one person tends to feel attacked by someone elses ideas without the action of confrontation. this happened a few times throughout the pod and was so subtle that you can barely notice lex being bothered by the debate of a particular topic because viveks stance as a stand alone attacks lexs stance without there being overlap. This is more obvious in the debates on agnostic, atheist, and religious debates, where the existing stance of an atheist gets demonized, by the faith based intellectual, and creates tension on a stand alone policy or morals. I know this is subtle find, but i picked up on his face and energy more than his work here, he did a good journalism job. But i personally always viewed his journalistic work as a central neutral and balanced form of podcasting and interviewing, and it might just be me but ive just now realized that he has an achilles in these hot topics that relate heavily with humanitarian issues and crises. I either picked up on a personality flaw in lex where he has a weak heart when it comes to truly discussing or managing the hard conversations, or ive saw only what i wanted to believe my self. This flaw exists as a blind spot in endless debates where one group or system hurts another system, but to remedy the system and restore balance, one has to disturb, remove, replace a group or system to exist as pleased or as before. this happens with the debates on immigration, guns, health, abortions, WAR etc. Basically i felt that Lex had more of a moral attraction to the immigration topic because of the human element specifically on the immigrant side, rather it was personal or objective is irrelevant, because when discussing the systems or groups you have to discuss the problem (overlap). The overlap of the illegal immigrants, legal migrants (on work visas etc), and USA citizens is the debate of the legality of the 3 groups in the united states. Vivek showed beautifully the difference between the policy and debate of illegal immigration vs legal immigration, and then illegal immigration (faking asylum claims, abusing immigration process) vs asylum seeking, and then asylum seeking vs legal immigration, and he showed the overlap and differences of all the groups and how it connects to this topic of "immigration". So i think Lex was not thinking of the USA as a system or group, and was only focused on the humanitarian needs of all immigrants, and migrants, without acknowledging the overlap of the groups. This humanitarian stance comes form intellectuals only, in my opinion. Its a good sign of a smart person who can view another groups problems and understand their differences without existing or living them. I call it Lex's achilles heel because this way of thinking is not natural at all, its an intellectual flaw in nature. Its ok to have symbiosis between groups and systems, thats natural, but its also natural to set boundaries for your own system as protection, and thats the overlap of the immigration topic. I hate groupings as well, they turn good people sour, but if you dont set boundaries even for your own personal body and mind people with abuse you and walk all over you. This natural mind set deserves to be translated into the immigration topic in my opinion because i choose to set boundaries within the groups im assigned to, because they work and they give definition and detail to the person I am, and the person im shaped mentally and physically. If we didnt have boundaries set we would all be the same, and as much as i feel related and the same as others, my senses tell my im different than others based off my history and experiences in life.

If Vivek wants government to be more efficient,he can start with the federal veterans administration. All those veterans waiting for their benefits will appreciate the efficiency.
But he's basically saying he would arbitrarily axe 75% based on SS number to delegate the job. But then if you didn't vote these guys in, they wouldn't be able to promulgate any specific rules until the elected politicians legislate them. My FIL is at a VA home and a big issue is staffing. But essentially 75% of them are gone as well. Put 75% of gov employees now on the work force, and now the increased surplus of potential employees means you are competing for jobs...means decrease in salaries. He's good. He's smart. But he is the same educated person many blue collars claim are out of touch. He just plays on the conservatives' team.
I'm a veteran, 20% permanent disability, use the VA for health care. As far as I care, the vast majority of it can just go away. There's a few cripples that are going to require permanent care, but that can be farmed off to private health care.
@@lostcuz-bj5gbThat's because the United States does not have much market competition in the healthcare market. In fact these are 7 ways to make healthcare system in the US much more affordable. 1 - Have an antitrust bust on the medical monopolies / monopolize conglomerates of health insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and hospital systems with also cutting down on zoning laws so that more healthcare facilities can be built, and finding ways to make medical schools affordable. 2 - Replace Medicare with a compulsory health savings account system where people are required to put some percentage of their paycheck towards their health savings account with employers contributing to some extent. Not to mention these health savings accounts would be also tax free. 3 - Allow interstate competition in all 50 states being legal for health insurance companies. 4 - Have a prescription drug importation program that would allow international competition with pharmaceutical drugs. 5 - Create a law that would only allow health insurance to cover hospital services that are related to catastrophic care and some surgical contraceptives. That way it would incentivize people to go to health clinics for the majority of their healthcare needs like a primary care malpractice that has a Direct Primary Care type of business model. 6 - Remove the cap for the number of doctors that can be being trained per year, and having medical training going back to the private sector like it did pre 1965 which would require people to go through 3 years to 6 years of private medical school with also required to pass a state bar exam in order to be a licensed medical professional after those 4 years to 7 years of studying / learning in that private medical school. 7 - Maintain the Medicaid program to take care of overall health care needs for people that are poor, or replace Medicaid with the government giving tax credit subsidies into the health savings accounts of people that are poor.
@@lostcuz-bj5gb am I misunderstanding something. You're saying the private healtchare sector wouldn't take the money? The idea isn't you lose your benefits, the idea is you're given the care you need and the the bill is paid via your benefits

Discernment

Once Trump is out of the way, all these figures will try to reinvent themselves and pretend they never believed any of the things Trump rambles about every day. lex bothered me just a bit on this one. at first i thought he was just being a beautiful pawn piece to ask vivek hard policy questions and criticisms to let vivek truly explain his mind and preach his stances, good journalism.
Lex is forcing his viewpoints recently

Vivek is a very smart man and he's really has his thumb on the pulse also. But generals discuss strategy and Lieutenants discuss gun fights. This is the dynamic of the two individuals.
Because you voted that Trump should do it.
Because your system voted and elected Trump
I am backing Trump in this current election cycle because he is truly the best shot we’ve got right now, but my biggest criticism against him is that he’s a bad spokesman for mostly great ideals. Vivek is an eloquent spokesperson for mostly great ideals. I hope people wake up and prop up Vivek for 2028. Trump only won (in the primaries) because of his enormous base. He’s a household name and for better or worse Trump speaks like the average American and represents a deep seated frustration with the shortcomings of career politicians.
Did you vote for him in the primary?
One of the best podcasts by Lex! Absolutely 10/10. Thanks for letting Vivek speak and pushing back when essential. Definitely need more episodes with Vivek in the future!
Vivek is a very sharp individual lex brought up alot of emotional reasons as to oppose trump or his views but Vivek provided facts to counter those arguments
@@glorgau Private care isn't an affordable option or as expansive, so this is just a pretty self-centered view.
Vivek is the future. Appreciate this guy and listen to him.
what an intelligent and articulate person, he definitely needs to be in office
2:26:41 Respect Vivek for bringing up factory farming. This is a bipartisan issue & one of the greatest moral atrocities of our time. Most people are too afraid to bring up such issues that aren't considered "important" at the national level
Best guest yet lex
A very Smart person, really intelligent answers by Vivek
Love Vivek. Shocked by Lex's take on the 2020 election. Really downplaying the amount and impact of interference.
Vivek dodged the fake electors scheme question
He had a tough time grasping the difference between censorship and difference of opinions.
Lex is pretty clearly paid off by some group. His sudden rise and access to guests is sus.
@Sean: The charitable interpretation is that Lex is naive.
I could think of other words
Vivek is the man. Seriously. What a great mind to have in America. 🇺🇸
Impressive guy as usual . I would have voted for him. Hopeful that i will have the opportunity in my lifetime. Realistically he may have to govern ohio then serve as vice before he can win a presidential election. Im grateful he is serving as a voice of reason in these crazy times.
Breath of fresh air...
Listening to Vivek I feel like my iq went up a couple of points
He is a C l @ version of Dr Shiva wake up
Funny, I feel quite the opposite, but maybe I’m starting from higher starting point. These right wing loons are very scary and dangerous - they live in the past, and hark back to different times with rose tinted glasses.
It did
Imagine how smart you'd become if you ate his flesh.
Lol true
Vivek is the smartest human i’ve ever heard
Love love love Vivek. Vivek 2028!!!
