    I never understand fundamentalists. The 1st Amendment is a WIN-WIN. NO one will infringe upon your practice, worship-there are churches, synagogues, temples, TV, radio etc everywhere, whatever , and therefore NO one will infringe their beliefs onto others. RELIGION OUT OF GOVM'T.

      Each and every citizen has the right to believe or not believe what so they believe. It has nothing to do with our Federal Govt. and the Constitution. The US has not State Religion nor does it have Atheism as a State Religion. Each individual citizen has religious freedom.The Existence of Churches or of any religious organization is based on the religious choice of individual citizens supporting that religious organization. Freedom of Religion is one of the important freedoms each and every citizen has. The State is separate and that Separateness from the State protects Freedom of Religion (Faith, Belief). If that separateness is removed than Freedom of Religion for each and every citizen....is than GONE!

      It is not fair to group all Christians with these evangelical nuts. However, it is disappointing to see so few politicians of faith stand up for the principles of their faith. Mitt Romney set a good example but he did it when he knew he was leaving. Term limits are needed to help prevent these politicians put their constituents first and not their desperate desire to be reelected.

    Jesus was not a white man, he was a person of the Middle East and he was a Jew. I am glad to see some Christian leaders explaining how Christian Nationalists do not represent true Christianity and the teachings and example of Jesus. Jesus Kingdom, as He said is not of this world, and Jesus wanted us to love others, care for the poor and all those considered the least among us.

      Constitution: Our government issues our national currency when Congress votes to pay for something
      It owns the 💵 printing machine.
      We use the 💵 it issues to shop, pay our banks back, pay tax & buy treasury bonds
      Bonds are just a savings account at our central bank

      Sorry pal but you're the one missing the point. "I was here first " doesn't make you anymore American than people who came here afterwards. We are all immigrants including American Indians. We are all deserving of this country. Arrival time is not relevant. Using that logic would justify claiming that Christians were here before Jews. Therefore, Christians are more authentic Americans than Jews are. Both arguments are flawed. Using or exploiting American Indians as a vehicle to defend current immigrants or demeaning white people in general is not a very good debate tactic. Try using better parallels to make your valid point. Keep claims of superiority and privilege out of the debate. To do otherwise is missing the point. We are all one world. No one deserves any part of it more than others regardless of time line.

    I can't wait to see it! As an eating, breathing, sleeping, walking, talking and thinking Christian, and by that I declare that I aspire to the righteousness of the true teachings of Jesus Christ, I am horribly saddened by the power the outspoken minority of self-proclaimed Christians has over the general image projected to and subsequently perceived by our fellow non-Christian Americans. Those alleged followers of Christ are giving the rest of us a bad name and if the masses remain uneducated as to the truths that I believe you've represented in your film, I'm terrified as to what lies ahead. Other than sharing this video and/or your film, I pray for guidance daily and seek opportunities to scream these concepts out from the mountain tops out. 🙏

No true Scotsman is a fallacy that should be avoided, and is a pitfall that comes up in so much religious discussion.     Our founding fathers saw what had been happening in Europe with millions of Catholics and Protestants killing each other so they wanted to keep religion separate from political power. They also saw the inquisitions. Religion in power means authoritarianism.

      But not only how Jesus behaved. Luke 6;45 says "...out of the abundance of his heart his mouth speaks". Compare scripture about the fruits of the spirit, pride, mean and demeaning speech, vengeance, haughty spirit, not returning evil for evil,being humble, the spirit of fear, self control, etc , etc.etc to what people speak.

    Learn from history's past. The puritans fled England because of the Church and State system persecuting dissidents. Their descendents ended up repeating same history when they imposed their penal codes and NH became exclusively a Puritan colony for political office. The Framers of The Constitution wanted separation of institutions of Church and State for this reason so that there would be no establishment of one religion but an inclusive society for all faiths. I am talking on these topics

      Your understanding of European history is understandably very limited. The puritans didn’t flee England because they were persecuted. They were unwilling to obey laws that forbade them persecuting others. They had already been thrown out of the Netherlands for their hatred and bigotry. Returning to England, they discovered their appalling behaviour wasn’t welcome there either and they left for the colonies, where bigotry has been a way of life ever since.

    I live in South Africa. I am 56 so experienced a bit of Apartheid for roughly 20 years. We were Cristians and Nationals. I was even happy to serve in the army. We never even considered that Christian and Nationalism were different things!!!! It upheld Apartheid!!!!

      Looking at test scores for Math and English, I don't think any amount of teaching has succeeded "in learning civis". I guess, in some coastal cities only 5 to 15% understand civics, and American history.

      Actually, I don't think he will win. He's never won the popular vote. He won the electoral (votes allowed per state), but lost the popular vote (individual votes), then as an incumbent president, which is usually an advantage when running again for president, he lost a huge amount of electoral votes and lost the popular vote again.
      What we have is a very, very loud and much reported minority in this country, which does not actually represent the majority of Americans.
      Should we and the world be concerned, YES!
      Because it does appear that, that minority has a lot of money and power and loudness behind it!
      What we need is more people actually voting to vote those louder than everyone else's voices out.
      The angry and hateful tend to complain the loudest. Doesn't mean the majority feel or think like them.
      Hopefully, because Trump showed us his ass, like I like to say, even more people will vote against him than did the last two elections. He'll need the electoral votes again to win. A lot of people that voted for him before didn't want him again and still don't. If they ever did, he would have won the popular vote.
      He never has! It's the electoral college we have to worry about the most as it was those electors who got him in the first time!

    It is not enough to merely point with alarm. We need you to talk about how we, your audience, can take practical steps to save our democracy.
    I would suggest reaching out to get-out-the-vote groups and text bank, phone bank, reach out to old college friends and family to ensure they are activated and registered to vote. We can do more than watch videos!

    Damn, I CAN'T WAIT to see this movie -- looks like it is saying the same thing I have felt since the 70s-80s when Oral Roberts and his whole crew started mixing their religious foll-de-roll up in their churches!! This is EXACTLY what this country needs to hear/see at this time, before the November elections, and I will do all I can to get as many people to it as I can. Unfortunately the people who REALLY need to get this message would not watch it as it might skew what their ideology has them doing, saying and voting for. It is supposed to have opened nation-wide this or last week, but not in the Midwest yet (probably is in Chicago). Please hurry up getting this to all theatres ...     It is not fair to group all Christians with these evangelical nuts. However, it is disappointing to see so few politicians of faith stand up for the principles of their faith. Mitt Romney set a good example but he did it when he knew he was leaving. Term limits are needed to help prevent these politicians put their constituents first and not their desperate desire to be reelected.

      “in the year of our Lord” is in article 7 of the US Constitution.

      First the Declaration was a document meant for the audience of King George and his "state religion." So yeah, appealing to that sentiment was artful, but not legally binding.
      The Constitution is THE document that for centuries now has been the underpinning of our legal system. SO for the "originalists," who love to presume the intentions of the Founders, their positions on legal matters are what, if you'll pardon the repetition, matters.
      Remember the words of James Madison who famously said that "religion and government will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together". He believed that a "perfect separation between ecclesiastical and civil matters" was the best approach. Heed those words, because that is what protects any one person's religious belief from exploitation if not suppression by their government.

You fall into the trap of thinking religion is the root cause of evil. It is not. It seems that way because most people were involved in religion for most of written history.

    I’ve heard of pastors and ministers being dismayed when they give a sermon on what Jesus said and their congregations were disgusted because what Jesus said sounds too liberal and peaceful. But if you ask the same congregants, I’m sure they’d say they love Jesus the best.

    Hate and division was not what Jesus stood for. His love was for all groups. Not like this group of haters who divide and belittle any group they feel have different opinions or beliefs. Christian nationalists are a threat to our democracy. Jesus is looking down and I am sure he is thinking “they know not what they do”. When will we learn his teachings. Love, truth and justice. Separation of church and state is the foundation of our country.

      @campfireaddict6417 the Greek word translated into English actually does not mean an adversarial emotion that we'd normally recognize as 'hate." used in this context. Rather it comes closer to the English word "despise". In this verse Jesus was telling people that in order to follow him they have to put God first even in priority above family.

    Christianity teaches unquestioning servitude to an invisible god who is the only one who can fix you. You must admit you are nothing without him. If you try to leave him, he has torment prepared for you. He is angry and vengeful. Can we see how this religion prepares Americans to accept an authoritarian politician?

Christian nationalism is really a political movement using Christianity as an enticement to prey on people’s fears and prejudices. See Greg Boyd a pastor who lost half his congregation when he spoke out about this type of nationalism.

    I disagree that if you live by the Golden Rule you do not need the 10 Commandments, but we clearly have a lot of sociopaths in this country. Their brains work differently and one they cannot empathize, so they could not follow the rules. They also have less experience of pain, so that would be another reason not to have them apply that rule.

    The United States was founded on a division between “THEM” and “US”. Initially THEY were the European Monarchs, and Rulers, who often were prejudiced against any but the “common”religion shared by the Rulers, and majority of the people. Those whose religious practices were banned or punished for existing, left England initially, to come to a land where they could be free. England, and the Indigenous people constituted THEM until the War of Independence finally broke from England and formed the USA.
    The next Them came from a division between the two political parties in the USA, and resulted in the American Civil War. After that war, both parties considered the other as “Them”, and devised a way to work together. They also still had other “Thems” in the recently emancipated Slaves, the Indigenous Peoples, the Irish immigrants, the Italian immigrants, and the German immigrants. They didn’t war on those immigrants, but denied them equal rights with themselves.
    WWI broke out in Europe, and the new THEM became the Prussian Empire. America fought because their own economy was being adversely affected by the upheaval in Europe. That war was followed by a period of growth and prosperity, predominantly through industry and trade of resources. The interwar years were devastated by the Spanish flu, and the Great Depression. During that time, the wealthy became the new THEM for those who suffered the worst poverty.
    WWII arrived, and the new THEM became Nazi Germany, the Japanese, and Mussolini’s Italy. America joined the allies after the bombing of Pearl Harbour by the Japanese. Prior to that it supplied the allies with food and munitions without entering the conflict directly. Having entered the war, they fought with the allies against the “Axis of Evil”. After the war, during which many prominent Americans grew very wealthy, NATO was formed as a world alliance to ensure there would never again be such a war.
    The USSR became the new THEM, as Communists, and the Cold War was waged for many years. America lived in a constant state of fear, always prepared for the moment Russia made a move, building bigger and better nuclear arsenals until neither side dared move under threat of mutual destruction. Korea became the next THEM, with the fighting of a surrogate war between USA and USSR, the NATO allies supported the American military, and Korea was divided into North Communist, and South Democratic.
    Next was Vietnam, another war against Communism, and the first war left without winning. Since then there have been numerous wars in the Middle East, and other wars fought through sanctions, trade, and foreign regime changes arranged by subterfuge. The USA has not had a significant THEM in a long time, and this had lead to the reopening of divisions between the two parties that still predominate in the country.
    For the current Right conservative GOP Republicans (allied with the radical Christian Nationalists), the new THEM are Woke Left Socialist leaning Democrats, and the wave of immigrants and asylum seekers from war torn countries. For the Left liberal Democrats, the new THEM is the radicalized Trump GOP and it’s powerful Christian Nationalists supported by the NRA. In the absence of a significant THEM from outside the country, the USA is once again divided by different ideologies within the country.
    This is a little simplified, but covers the main points. Having been born from a THEM and US dichotomy, the USA is not capable of functioning for any appreciable length of time without a THEM to blame for its troubles, and to fight against for a victory.🖤🇨🇦

    When we see the the degrading of our moral fiber you begin to understand how important it is for schools, parents and and communities to teach the real history of this country and what the forefathe intended this country to be.
    Our forefathers envisioned a nation built on the principles of liberty, equality, and the pursuit of happiness. They aimed to establish a government that protected the unalienable rights of its citizens, as outlined in the Declaration of Independence, including "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" as fundamental human rights.
    They also created a system of checks and balances between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches to ensure that power was divided and to safeguard the freedom of the people. This design was intentional to prevent any one branch from becoming too powerful and to keep the government accountable to the citizens.
    Our forefathers imagined America as a place where individuals could live freely, practice their faith, and pursue their dreams without government interference. They believed the government's role was to protect its citizens and ensure their well-being, rather than to control how they lived their lives.
    It's important to recognize that our forefathers were not perfect, and their vision had flaws. However, their goal was to create a nation that would stand as a beacon of freedom and democracy for the world.
    One significant obstacle to the country's progress is white nationalism. After the Civil War, the government pardoned all the traitors, allowing them to perpetuate their white nationalist views. One of the most influential movements that emerged from this was the "Lost Cause." Few Americans are aware of this history, yet our country continues to be shaped by these radical extremists who claim this country as their own while fearing the prospect of becoming a minority.

    Make America great again is trump's siren song. He's singing to people who are desperate for the simplicity of the past. A world they can control. He's promising that if he's elected that he'll give them a world from a past they remember as good, less frightening, comfortable. They're desperate enough to follow him even though he's said he'll be a dictator and worse.
    These are predominately your cultists. You'll notice a lot of them are older, not tech savvy or in rhythm with a world that's barred them from it's community. They still have a strong fear about Russia and can still be persuaded to sanity if you can get them to see the trump/Russia connection. And they are angry! They're afraid of the world they are living in, which creates anger which trump utilizes to make them afraid, which generates more anger... you can see where this goes.
    For trump, it looks like: Be afraid of the left, they're going to create communism in America and at the same time promising them he'll be a dictator. Continue this to absolute freezing fear and the promise of relief, "If you follow me."
    This phenomenon is worldwide, not just in America.
    ⁸We have got to find a way to help these people, to show them what the dystopian world which is trump looks like. Though they're presently unable to believe that can happen if they follow trump. We must bring them back from the hysteria, which is maga.

    Religion is in a negative spotlight more today than ever before because they have gone political. Not long ago it was considered unseemly to openly question religion; but once it became political, it became fair game. Freedom of religion was a sacred right of every American, but once Evangelicals tried to force their religious dogma into law to coerce everyone to live accordingly, that got people's dander up. They began to openly challenge religion and question its grounds to make such demands. Christianity's greatest weakness is that once people begin to question it, it unravels like a knitted sweater. The next thing you know, people are questioning god's existence.
