Good interview. Sadly, I've only met 1 real Native American in my entire 35 years. The crazy thing was he actually cracked a joke that I probably never met another in my life. Neither of us laughed but we had a great conversation about brown history. I'll never forget it.
MissDAdolph You've probably met more and just didn't know it. I'm Native American from Oklahoma City and people usually think I'm Hispanic (I get a lot of Latinos who just start speaking Spanish to me, or people think I'm some kind of Asian/Polynesian.)
But I have a typical look like Bratt. He's just a tiny bit more handsome than me. But I don't have the "Indian nose", high cheek bones, or long hair. Just a regular guy with dark hair and light brown skin.

Been down with Ben Bratt since Night Watch in early 80's. The show was about a good gang ( e.g Guardian Angles) that protected folks from crime & captured criminals. THEY would circle up before going out. Ben would say.."Let's lock it up" meaning hold hands, say a prayer and hit the streets. 😍😍😍

Would Native Americans even want to be part of American history. From their perspective, America is a European creation no? Surely they identify more with their pre colonial tribes and nations ? The land wasn't "American" until the Europeans came.

+LouisKing995 Canadian Indigenous Tribes are referred to as "First Nations", so most the Indigenous Natives calling themselves "First Nations" are Canadian or are originally from Canada. If you google "First Nations" it will show all the Indigenous tribes of Canada.
(I am "Native American" but I prefer to say "Indigenous" over "Native". I am from Minnesota so when I introduce myself to Non-"Native" people I identify as "American Indian" because it is familiar to them. I dont mind so much or get upset when people call me Indian or calling myself American Indian because, it is not ALL of who I am, I have a personality and story and people seem to get too hung up on the fact that I am indigenous. So much that they do not pay attention to who I am as a person...)
