Imagine if temper reloctes the team and pay’s for it himself there. The worst part about ST Louis is that the city offerd to pay for a new stadium and he still relocated the team.
The panthers aren’t going anywhere. It’s over 16 million people in NC/SC and Charlotte alone is one of the fastest growing cities in America. Now that LA has a team there is no serious threat for relocation.

Charlotte has already been through it with the first stint of the Hornets and their owner moving the team to New Orleans because he wanted a new arena.
Agreed. Nowhere for them to go and the NFL won't want to abandon the Carolina market. The threat for relocation is an empty one and is the first step towards negotiations for a new stadium.
@@jhathaway8026San Antonio has a huge population and the state of Texas pays hundreds of millions for HIGH SCHOOL stadiums, they’d definitely shell out 1.5b for a new stadium.
Do they really need all that fancy, expensive stuff? As long as every seat has a good view of the field, and there are enough bathrooms, most fans will be satisfied (with the stadium at least; the losing team on the field is a different story).
Good. Why should the fans pay for it? They get overcharged for tickets, parking, food, and drinks. Jerseys and other shit. Absolutely no reason tax dollars should be paying for these stadiums

But I'd say, whatever is the worst case scenario/worst motivations that you can come up with, is probably spot on or close to what Tepper is planning.
@FM-ig3th interesting. I guess it's only baseball that they hate. When I urged them to start a committee to investigate ways & means to bring the Rays to Charlotte, i was told by the mayor's office to my face that they would never lift a finger to bring a sports franchise to Charlotte, and it was implied I was insane to even make such a suggestion. I guess they really meant that they are willing to finance football but not baseball. Makes sense: it's a majority Black.city and Blacks today don't follow baseball.
San Diego is not a football city anymore. Too many douchy transplants have move in SD and dilluted the fanbase with other teams and they lost the ballet vote for a new stadium. Its over.
@ll4680 San Diego loved the Chargers but their owner completely screwed over that fanbase by his idiotic greed. Instead of building a new stadium in San Diego, he took the cheaper option and move the team in LA which was really stupid since the Rams already moved there and made the Chargers into the NFLs Clippers.
Any sports stadium in the region should be placed just south of the ring road Route 485. Matthews, Weddington, Ballantyne, Waxhaw, Ft. Mill, Rock Hill -- these areas are exploding with growth and prosperity. Downtown Charlotte (actually called "Uptown") is small, cramped, poorly accessed and devoid of pedestrian traffic at night, being a place of offices and government buildings. It is not an area of entertainment or social centers. Most residents of the region never set foot there.
I think Carolina is fast growing market where NFL doesn't want to really leave. However St.Louis wants a team. San Antonio wont get one because Dallas wouldn't allow another Texas team.
Dude the Panthers president Said that they're not relocating They're still gonna play at bank of america stadium But it won't affect their season Please stop spreading false information to your viewers and fans. That love the panthers that watches your videos 🤦♂️
I honestly dont think the league would give Tepper approval to relocate the franchise. After the controversy from the Rams relocation debacle in which the NFL had to pay over 700 million to the city of St. Louis. And David Tepper also isnt in very good standing with fellow NFL owners either, who the majority of still see Charlotte NC as a very viable hub for the NFL. In 2003 then Vikings owner Red McCombs threatened to move the team to San Antonio if he didnt get a publicly funded stadium, the federal courts placed an injunction on McCombs efforts, and the commissioner was prepared to sanction McCombs as owner. Red sold the team 2 years later to Mark and Zygi Wilf. If past history is any indication, i dont see David Tepper owning the Carolina Panthers for much longer.
Charlotte is the 14th largest city and has the opportunity to move into the 13th slot by next year. David needs the city more than the city needs him. It's been nothing but negativity that has surrounded this team since he's taken over.
This entire issue shows there is rot in the ownership structure & franchise as a whole. Something is just off. Why would the ownership company/LLC even think this was a good idea? I’m starting to think it’s in everyone’s interest if the Panthers do relocate somewhere else.
The NFL snubbed Baltimore (multiple times, both expansion and relocation) and gave expansion teams to Carolina and Jacksonville. Then, to get a team, Baltimore had to steal one (the Browns took the offer), which was a black mark for the NFL. Since then, Baltimore has been a model franchise, while Jacksonville, Carolina, and even Cleveland have been embarrassments.
Win a title then the fans will give you what you want, 1999 San Antonio Spurs win their first title, the city builds what is now called the Frost Bank Center. Go from 12-4 to 2-14 like the 1994 Houston Oilers did, and you won't get anything.
lol the funny thing is fans would agree to the stadium, but it’s not what fans want. Some want indoor, some want outdoor. Plus, the redesign they put up looks like trash! For the money, they could just build a new stadium… my opinion, do an indoor stadium like US Bank stadium and State Farm Stadium…. And go from there.
Most of the points made aren't too far off base except for bringing up Charlotte FC. Tepper owns both teams. If the Panthers are relocated, there is ZERO chance they would stay behind in Charlotte.
@fulhamtarheel and that all they have to do .. Minnesota did it, played at the University of Minnesota, Seattle Seahawks, played at the University of Washington, and Chicago Bears, played at the University of Illinois until they got their new stadium built.
I don’t think tax payers should pay for any kind of stadium or it’s upgrades if the owners want these upgrades or new stadium’s they should pay for it themselves and as far as tepper and the panthers go don’t go away mad just go away!
I've lived in Charlotte for over 14 years and there's no way I would vote to give the Panthers anything. If I'm not mistaken, the Carolina Panthers haven't made the playoffs since Ron Rivera was head coach. So, that was about 8 or 9 years ago. So if the Panthers want out of Charlotte, then good riddance to old garbage. There record was something like 2-15 last year. For that reason alone, no one attends the games anyway.
Sorry. What's so freaking wrong with it? I mean, really. What is wrong? And what can't you fix? Oh, the "structural design." I need something really specific to justify this money. And the renovation looks great! What the hëll is wrong with it? This is the renovation for people who think their iphone is old junk as soon as Apple announces a new one. Frankly, the Panthers could use a little less drama for a while.
He is an awful owner. This was once a winning team, then he bought it and it has become a dumpster fire 🔥. Plus, stadium renovations never work and is just a band aid. Owner are happy for a year or two, then want a new stadium. Like you said, fix the football product and maybe the city might consider a new stadium. Or, do what the Cowboys and the Rams owners did, buy the land and build their own stadium 🏟️. I am surprised he is so bad since he was a minority owner of Steelers, but it looks like he learned nothing from that experience.
These new billion dollar State of the Art works of technological wonder have owners drooling; cities pony up or they can say bye, bye. Jacksonville, Tampa, Denver, Phoenix, KC, Pittsburgh etc the writing is on the wall for these stadiums too.
They’re going to find that non NFL cities that would otherwise welcome the Panthers won’t be willing to put up $1 billion +. There are so many other pressing needs that trump NFL and/or MLB. I do believe downtown arenas pay dividends by being the center of entertainment. But not stadiums.

@@smartmaxwell9017 By that logic, might as well fund a new stadium every year. No obviously there's a balance and it's objectively a much longer timeframe than dg thinks it is.
The team should stay in Charlotte. It'd be ridiculous to move out of a thriving, quickly growing market that is already larger than many other NFL Cities (Baltimore, Green Bay, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Kansas City, Nashville, Pittsburgh), and soon to pass Denver.
Tepper has turned this team into a dumpster and he has the money to build a stadium out of pocket like Kroenke did for the Rams.
Imagine if temper reloctes the team and pay’s for it himself there. The worst part about ST Louis is that the city offerd to pay for a new stadium and he still relocated the team.
@@noaho8457If he's not willing to pay for it now then why would he relocate and pay MORE money?
As a panther fan this really sucks bro
The city just approved the construction of a new practice facility in Charlotte. We’re not going anywhere.
The panthers aren’t going anywhere. It’s over 16 million people in NC/SC and Charlotte alone is one of the fastest growing cities in America. Now that LA has a team there is no serious threat for relocation.
Better rethink, San Antonio and Austin are both among the fastest growing metro areas. Football is a religion in Texas.
@larryparks9595 Jerry Jones isn't letting another team in Texas.
@@larryparks9595 Half the poulation of SA is below the poverty line. Panthers aren't going anywhere.
I wish the Panthers would get a new owner and relocate to Orlando, Florida they’re already rivals with the Tampa Bay, Buccaneers It would even a better rivalry if they were that close and I think Orlando deserves a NFL team
You don't need anymore NFL teams in Florida. Orlando wouldn't know what to do with the Panthers. Orlando is a mess already.
Nothing wrong with that stadium
I drive hours to see them play a few times every year. It’s dumb to imply the stadium is why attendance is low, Tepper knew this wouldn’t pass. Not to mention the only upside is so they could charge more money. They raised season ticket prices this year despite a 2 win season
@@matthewtucker1262 I’m with you but listen I Go to Buccaneers games, Stadium is nothing great but Definitely still usable Great atmosphere, and it doesn’t feel like it was put there for the rich, Not every NFL team needs a brand new billion dollar stadium Colleges have been doing fine for centuries Adding on and rebuilding stadiums
@@lakemonster7799 I agree, its all about hosting a super bowl for the owners, which seems pretty ridiculous to raise taxes for years to fund one event. The stadium is just fine, and in a good location. I wouldn't mind giving the bank another 5 years to even think about a new stadium. Ginger is right about renovations not being able to help. If they do build something new I'd love a european style canopy stadium. the weather is too good to be in a dome, just give us some shade for the first few weeks and for the rain
There is nothing wrong. The problem is that Atlanta has set a precedent 4 hours down the road. Destroying a relatively new Georgia Dome and putting the next world-level Mercedes Benz Stadium
@@abbieandus And when you sit down on those seats, it’s no different than being at Bank of America Stadium I’m sure, The play is still mediocre at both stadiums 😂
Here we go another one let's grab our popcorn 😄
As a Jags fan, hearing all this makes me realize how much I’ve taken our team’s ownership for granted.
Facts 💯
As a Washington fan, we dealt with Dan Snyder for 25 years and he totally destroyed our franchise. Thankfully it looks like we have adults running the franchise again. Carolina looks like they have Snyder 2.0 😳😳
I mean at least Washington has three Super Bowl wins, even if they were won before Snyder got there.
12 other teams I’m sure wish they had at least one.
@hivoltagefx4 this clown will make Snyder look like a HOF owner before he's done!
The Carolina Panthers were considered a candidate for relocation as early as the days when Los Angeles, California didn’t have NFL Teams.
Hasn’t California had NFL teams before the Panthers entered the league in 1995 though ?
Been a Panthers fan since 96 and NEVER heard of that.
No they weren't.
Lol the city just approved the renovation and we’re staying. Once again bunch of relocation talk for nothing.
My thoughts is that I want the new stadium look brand new and if it’s doesn’t work out, they can relocate. As long as it’s not out of Carolina. Carolina Panthers is here to stay, Keep Pounding 💙🖤💙🖤
North Carolina doesn’t need the panthers, that state has a lot to offer, if I were the mayor I would tell the panthers they need to pay or leave.
How old are you?
People are feeling the crunch from inflation.. they don't want to give their money to billionaires to build fancy stadiums that will be more expensive to visit.
Stan Kronke paid 5 billion dollars to build Sofi Stadium… So why can’t David Tepper do the same thing
Because it's one man. Why can't you put in $5 case closed? Cause your a liberal and hate the rich. He's letting you enjoy his team in your city.
This reminds me of the A's situation, owner not being reasonable, blames city and fans for relocation
just wanted to justify leaving. basically playing victim to avoid backlash
Thats the sports owner playbook.
Just ask spanus
The difference with Oakland is that the stadium sucks and the city is in a bad spot as well. With Carolina what’s the excuse there.
@@noaho8457and the A’s ownership was having problems with the city and that stadium way before Fisher even got them.
Charlotte has already been through it with the first stint of the Hornets and their owner moving the team to New Orleans because he wanted a new arena.
They won't relocate
Agreed. Nowhere for them to go and the NFL won't want to abandon the Carolina market. The threat for relocation is an empty one and is the first step towards negotiations for a new stadium.
…said every relocated franchise former city ever.
@@jhathaway8026San Antonio has a huge population and the state of Texas pays hundreds of millions for HIGH SCHOOL stadiums, they’d definitely shell out 1.5b for a new stadium.
David Tepper is one of the richest owners in the NFL and he can afford those renovations!
Do they really need all that fancy, expensive stuff? As long as every seat has a good view of the field, and there are enough bathrooms, most fans will be satisfied (with the stadium at least; the losing team on the field is a different story).
If the Panthers move, the obvious place to go is St Louis.
St. Louis needs an NFL team period.
San Antonio makes way more sense.
@@boogitybear2283Why did the Rams leave then?
I heard it was because of stadium / money issues ?
@@WorldwideWyatt -- Too close to Dallas and Houston.
@@gregb6469Dallas to San Antonio is twice as far as Washington to Philly, Baltimore is between Washington and Philly.
Good. Why should the fans pay for it? They get overcharged for tickets, parking, food, and drinks. Jerseys and other shit. Absolutely no reason tax dollars should be paying for these stadiums
These new stadium/renovation demands are always so they can cater to the corporate crowd and the high rollers. Sports was better before we catered to their sorry asses.
Ginger, you're right. David Tepper is absolute trash and he wants out of NC. Why? I don't know. I'm not sure of where he could move the team into a better city. OR, maybe it's because he's playing on strong-arming NC into paying for an all new stadium. But I'd say, whatever is the worst case scenario/worst motivations that you can come up with, is probably spot on or close to what Tepper is planning.
Panthers will not leave. NC is one of the fastest growing areas in the country. The NFL will not leave a booming market.
I resided in Charlotte 2016-2021. There is no appetite among locals for spending public money on sports franchises.
I live here now , and City Council just approved the renovation. Want to re-think that?
@FM-ig3th interesting. I guess it's only baseball that they hate. When I urged them to start a committee to investigate ways & means to bring the Rays to Charlotte, i was told by the mayor's office to my face that they would never lift a finger to bring a sports franchise to Charlotte, and it was implied I was insane to even make such a suggestion. I guess they really meant that they are willing to finance football but not baseball. Makes sense: it's a majority Black.city and Blacks today don't follow baseball.
In a few years it will be Charlotte Franchise Part 2:Electric Boogaloo
Just move them to San Diego and have them play at Snapdragon Stadium since the Chargers are never coming back.
Then who moves into the NFC South to replace them
Not large enough capacity for an NFL team at Snapdragon Stadium
San Diego is not a football city anymore. Too many douchy transplants have move in SD and dilluted the fanbase with other teams and they lost the ballet vote for a new stadium. Its over.
@ll4680 San Diego loved the Chargers but their owner completely screwed over that fanbase by his idiotic greed. Instead of building a new stadium in San Diego, he took the cheaper option and move the team in LA which was really stupid since the Rams already moved there and made the Chargers into the NFLs Clippers.
San Diego has decided they don't want football. A tiny soccer stadium isn't even close to adequate
Geez, Tepper or John Fisher, who’s worse?😮
I think we should relegate the panthers to the ufl and replace them with the Birmingham stallions
South Carolina should make a pitch like Kansas and bring the Panthers over the border. It’s only a few minutes from downtown Charlotte.
I was thinking Charleston or Myrtle Beach.
South Carolina is pretty much done with David Tepper. They won't give him a dime.
@@IronPanther8245 Neither city is a market for an NFL team. Those cities are tourist cities and empty during football season anyway.
They need grass field in Carolina, i hate turf and no reason to play on it there.
I think Carolina is fast growing market where NFL doesn't want to really leave. However St.Louis wants a team. San Antonio wont get one because Dallas wouldn't allow another Texas team.
I’ve been to that stadium twice, and there ain’t a damn thing wrong with it.
Dude the Panthers president Said that they're not relocating They're still gonna play at bank of america stadium But it won't affect their season Please stop spreading false information to your viewers and fans. That love the panthers that watches your videos 🤦♂️
NOT TRUE. After the city just approved the renovations, the Panthers are now stuck in Charlotte for the next 20 years per the agreement.
The lease is not up until 2030. Its way too early to use the relocation tag.
I hope this was a "low end" proposal, with room to improve plans before the final plan #KeepPounding
Pay for your own Renovations/New Stadium Tepper! If Ross can do it in Miami, then you can do it. If Kronke can do it in LA, then you can do it.
I'm so glad we don't have to worry about this in Atlanta...we have kirk cousins!!!
Move 10 miles down the interstate to South carolina!! That will solve the problem.....
Take a look at how Tepper has treated SC, particularly Rock Hill, thus far.
Looks like The Panthers could move to another state if the state or city refuses to pay for renovations
Another 1995 expansion team that St Louis didn’t get.
Yet....
Literally going nowhere.
I bet everyone miss Jerry Richardson now😆
This is a long term con to give Tepper the excuse to move the team!
Move to Greensboro or Raleigh stay in the state
Put them at Carter Finley for a couple seasons while a stadium is built in downtown Raleigh.
@fulhamtarheel and that all they have to do .. Minnesota did it, played at the University of Minnesota, Seattle Seahawks, played at the University of Washington, and Chicago Bears, played at the University of Illinois until they got their new stadium built.
@@fulhamtarheelit would be epic having the football and hockey team in the same city…..
@@fulhamtarheelhell no
Why would they go to Raleigh or Greensboro? No place to play. Situation is worse then the Charlotte stadium.
The other NFL owners wouldn't approve a move, so this is pure speculation. There's no desire, or design, to move the Panthers out of Charlotte.
I don't see em moving but who knows
Relocate to St Louis
This didn't age well at all, did it?
I don’t think tax payers should pay for any kind of stadium or it’s upgrades if the owners want these upgrades or new stadium’s they should pay for it themselves and as far as tepper and the panthers go don’t go away mad just go away!
Owners ruin everything including their teams.
Actually a bad fan base and local city government can ruin it as well
Nothing is wrong with the current stadium tho..... Lets worry about winning games and having a decent to winning seasons!
Move them to Sac, we will support them 💯
Raleigh, NC
The Ravens and Orioles both updating their stadiums. $650 million each from the Maryland Stadium Authority. Getting out ahead of articles like this..
St Louis just got Hard & Wet💯
What about staying in state and possibly relocating to the Raleigh-Durham metro area?
He is an awful owner. This was once a winning team, then he bought it and it has become a dumpster fire 🔥. Plus, stadium renovations never work and is just a band aid. Owner are happy for a year or two, then want a new stadium. Like you said, fix the football product and maybe the city might consider a new stadium. Or, do what the Cowboys and the Rams owners did, buy the land and build their own stadium 🏟️. I am surprised he is so bad since he was a minority owner of Steelers, but it looks like he learned nothing from that experience.
You mean the people in Americas most popular city to move to don’t wanna be in debt up to there eyeballs?
These new billion dollar State of the Art works of technological wonder have owners drooling; cities pony up or they can say bye, bye.
Jacksonville, Tampa, Denver, Phoenix, KC, Pittsburgh etc the writing is on the wall for these stadiums too.
Remember the movie “Major League”
That’s what Tepper is doing with the Panthers.
This doesn’t make sense when they just approved the practice facility….
They’re going to find that non NFL cities that would otherwise welcome the Panthers won’t be willing to put up $1 billion +. There are so many other pressing needs that trump NFL and/or MLB.
I do believe downtown arenas pay dividends by being the center of entertainment. But not stadiums.
