Yes, it is true that if i, as an atheist, was born in a different place I may have been of a different religion, but this is not a problem for atheism as it is exactly what we would expect in a world with no real God. This is only a problem for religions which claim that their all powerful God exists everywhere and wants a relationship with everyone, and with people who claim that they are communicating with this being and receiving true information from it. Is such a being existed, we would expect to find it absolutely everywhere in every culture throughout history, and that belief in it or disbelief in it would not be a geographically dictated. Again, this is exactly what we would expect with atheism being true.

“If there really was one true god, it should be a singular composite of every religion’s gods, an uber-galactic super-genius, and the ultimate entity of the entire cosmos. If a being of that magnitude ever wrote a book, then there would only be one such document; one book of God. It would be dominant everywhere in the world with no predecessors or parallels or alternatives in any language, because mere human authors couldn’t possibly compete with it. And you wouldn’t need faith to believe it, because it would be consistent with all evidence and demonstrably true, revealing profound morality and wisdom far beyond contemporary human capacity. It would invariably inspire a unity of common belief for every reader. If God wrote it, we could expect no less. But what we see instead is the very opposite of that.”

Compensating for a crime after the fact does not excuse the fact; especially not when the person performing the act could have done things such that the crime never occurred in the first place. God offering compensation for suffering after the fact is an admission that he knows that the suffering is wrong, but doesn't do anything about it, and more than that, specifically made the world to include it when he could have made it such that the suffering didn't happen. Also if you're going to attempt logic then understand those logically more receptive and likely to be easier to possess are atheists, Wiccans, new age and any other religious faith outside the Abrahamic religion that monetized possessions lol.
But it's Not what we see in reality, and when the religious possessions are researched, alot of fibbing in paperwork has been found, including in the supposed victim as the exorcism itself, like those Ghost hunter series on TV.
And when there's been psychological problems where the victim were abused to death by the exorcism they've been eager to try and hide it ever happening. Strange to hide it if it was true and a actually demon killed them, not actually Strange if the people involved know it's not real but it's an effective cash grab both from easily primed parents of the subject aswell as scaring up extra tithing from the church goers. 💁‍♂️

Further, he's not trying to prove that a god can exist, he's specifically trying to prove the one the Jewish people made up is real. It's as ridiculous as proving Zeus, Rah, or all the other gods that civilizations made up is real.

Gotta love the bit where Reverso the wizard, does the ol' Priori Incantantum spell on the "If you were born somewhere else you wouldn't be a Christian." Argument. As if the prevalence of atheism were as geographical and culturally imposed in nature as that of religion.
And way to miss the point. Your god beliefs and Theology shouldn't be geographically arranged, culturally imposed or spread through human contact at all, if there was one true omnipresent god in communication with all nations and cultures.
Atheism simply occurs wherever people happen to not believe in any gods. The only geographical correlation is the prevalence depends on how heavy the religious indoctrination of the culture and how secular. In some places it isn't even safe to admit to being atheists.
And the actual argument, isn't just, if you were born somewhere else, you wouldn't be a Christian, it's also that you'd probably be indoctrinated Into some OTHER faith based beliefs.
The whole point is, that what you believe about such things, shouldn't depend on where you happen to be brought up and what culture you live in. It's pointing out that the whole enterprise of religious belief is artificial and derived from human ideation and cultural indoctrination.
Atheism DOES NOT propagate that way.

I think it's not so much an argument for how religious they were, but against the claim that atheism in the broadest sense was part of their ideology.
Something that wasn't a leftover from Prussia were the oaths introduced in the mid-1930s that soldiers and public servants had to swear "by God" to obey the Führer. While for example the previous Reichswehr oath did not contain reference to God.
That still doesn't tell us a lot about the specific beliefs of the 3rd Reich leadership, but it certainly shows how they relied on established Christian tenets and were not out to remove them.

This Redeemed Zoomer guy doesn’t seem to realize that his ideas on evil are contradictory. He says that God will one day destroy all evil but apparently can’t do it right now for reasons because he’d have to destroy us too for reasons. He also says that evil isn’t an actual thing but a lack of good. Not only does that mean that people are entirely incapable of being good or doing good, a position that I’ve seen some religious people hold, it means God is also incapable of destroying evil because it’s not a thing. So, if God got rid of all evil right now, according to Redeemed Zoomer, he’d be killing us with kindness in a literal sense

If the same constellations in the sky has remained the same since the ancient world, it means the laws of the observable universe remains unchanged. Therefore the same physical laws that we know now were applicable then. That means snakes can't talk, seas can't part, etc.

    • @LadyDoomsinger
      @LadyDoomsinger 9 місяців тому

Eh. I don't disagree with your conclusion, but in point of fact, the constellations do change as our position in the universe and the position of other stars, solar systems and galaxies change - it just happens on such a slow scale that we can't really see it.
For example, our current North Star is Polaris, but in 3000 BCE Thuban was recorded in that position and, according to predictions, Vega will be in the North Star in 14500 CE.
