You know, we all have our feelings about Wesley crusher, especially in season one as things got off to a start. But just earlier, some random Wesley crusher clips showed up on my UA-cam feed for later that really make me realize how much more I appreciate him then we generally talk about. Some great genuine moments. So we will see where it goes from here!
It's interesting seeing what you guys comment on. I have a technical background, so when I watch SF shows, I pick nits having to do with supernovae and black holes. Watch cop shows with cops and courtroom dramas with lawyers, and they do the same thing. Now, I'm seeing two stage fighters nitpicking something I've never seen as open to that kind of professional evaluation: the fights. It's really, really interesting.
As far as "Conspiracy," you'll find that Tracy Tormé's writing is kind of recognizable. There's a later episode where he was going to have Wesley's head explode, but even though that wasn't approved (for obvious reasons), his stamp can be seen in some really good, action-filled eps.
It's weird that I like so many episodes from a season that I would've said I didn't like. Seeing these through fresh eyes has been a great experience. Thanks, guys.
The more you re-watch the series, your top episodes will change over time. So don't worry about it, it happens to everyone. I'm so happy to see someone seeing this show for the first time, there are episodes that will definitely surprise you with how well they're written and shot. This show was probably one of the best written, directed, and shot when this first aired. It really stood out at the time, especially for a Sci-fi show.
I think, we could rank it in the seasons. Like in this video, they say what their favorite episodes of Season 1 were, then they go over to Season 2 and so on
Just for the record, anyone saying "the stunt doubles weren't so obvious on old tvs" is completely wrong. My family's generally been at least a decade behind whatever the current tv tech is and even so when Conspiracy aired we were laughing at how badly the doubles' fight scene was done. There are legitimate cases of things becoming visible due to HD upgrades but that wasn't one of them :P
The Nitpickers guide to TNG (first published when the show was still on the air) definitely called out the stunt doubles when ever they were super obvious.
Well, I'm still using tube tv and I can't see anything they are talking about when it comes to details unless the camera makes a point to focus on it. It's a mystery in itself to me how they can unblur something from old technology.
I'm not sure which episodes I'd put in my top five. My favorite is one that all three lists missed-- "The Neutral Zone"-- and the fact that I can't argue with any of the other choices on other lists tells me, yet again, was that there were a lot more solid season one episodes than I remembered.
Top 5 and some honorable mentions... 1. 110010001 2. The Arsenal of Freedom 3. Heart of Glory 4. Where No One Has Gone Before 5. Datalore 6. The Big Goodbye 7. The Neutral Zone
Watching the dying Klingon break through the mezzanine levels around the warp core and I wonder, did the Starfleet Shipyards skimp on the transparent aluminum when they built Enterprise D?
@Karthos1000 Well, it struck me as why have flooring that can shatter on a ship which is going to see hard service and in Main Engineering of all places?
I think seasons 1 & 2 are highly underrated. Season 3 is where the show peaked and finally found itself, but the first two seasons ARE good. So much so that I could actually make a top 10 list. I will include my other five as honorable mentions. 5. The Big Goodbye 4. Datalore (it IS official, it's number 4) 3. 11001001 (I actually liked the story with the Bynars) 2. Heart of Glory 1. Conspiracy Honorable Mentions: Home Soil, The Arsenal of Freedom, Skin of Evil (mainly for the final scene with Tasha's hologram and with Picard and Data), Where No One Has Gone Before, and The Neutral Zone).
Just a quick comment on your format of ST TNG videos. I watch a lot of reaction channels and I really like the way you incorporate the Patreon questions. More channels should do this as it allows you to address questions and information you may not know at the time.
It's not gonna be a big surprise given that we harped on it so much, but not a single episode of Season 1 makes my overall top 5, but I have no problem with any of the episodes mentioned. The top MOMENT for me was the Romulans in "The Neutral Zone" announcing "We are back." While not a particularly strong episode by itself, there's a certain level of ominousness (I hate that I couldn't find a better word) in that quote. I also liked some of the Klingon interactions from Heart of Glory too. It's nice to get a first real look at Klingon culture and ritual. I'm always going to appreciate episodes like that.
I agree with you on the Romulan appearance. While it was not a cliffhanger, I definitely took the warning seriously and as a sign of things to come. Picard even said, "I believe our lives just got a lot more complicated." Good foreshadowing in a season ender to me can be just as effective as a classic cliffhanger. Maybe even better because basically you don't know where, when and how things will evolve. With a classic cliffhanger, you pretty well know where things will pick up next season.
1 - Heart of Glory 2 - Conspiracy 3 - 11001001 4 - The Big Goodbye 5 - Too Short a Season This is as I posted them on the patreon. In hindsight, I might instead say that Too Short a Season should've been my honorable mention and my number 5 should've been Datalore or maybe Hide and Q.. like you said Alex, these aren't written in stone. More like sand. Good picks guys
Heart of Glory was my favorite episode of the first season-EASILY. LOVE how ST: TMP updated the Klingon's uniforms, weapons, ships and gave then their own language to boot was-GREAT.The fire-fight between the Klingons and the security team was well done, shows the viewers how dangerous being in security can be on a starship.
These are my top 5 episodes of this season. 5: Encounter At Farpoint. I love how this episode introduces us to all of the characters and the 24th century. I also love Q, I am a huge Q fan. I actually like the courtroom scene, gives me the shivers as it's their past but our future. I also would agree with Q's judgement against humanity, I understand why he's telling humans to go back. I also love Q's judge outfit, that is so wonderfully ridiculous. 4: The Arsenal Of Freedom. It's the annoying salesman who does it for me, he just cracks me up. I half expected him to tell the Enterprise he wanted to contact them about their ship's extended warranty. I love the ridiculous salesman. I also love seeing Geordi in command and how he handles command and I think he does that really well. I like how it shows that he is risky as Geordi isn't used to command but he is able to take on the responsibility and be a good leader. 3: Skin Of Evil. I know this is where Tasha dies and as much I love her character, I do really like this episode. The music for this episode is on point throughout. Marina Sirtis's acting in this one I think is amazing, she really pulls off being upset without being overdramatic. Armus is a really good villain, I like that he has no redeeming qualities, this blob is evil for the fun of it. I also like Armus's voice, reminds me of how Darth Vader talks, I like it. I also like Picard's speech in this episode about what true evil is. 2: Hide And Q. Like I said, I am a big Q fan so whenever Q shows up in future seasons, expect me to put his episodes in my top five. He is so ridiculous in this episode, from again all the different outfits to his sarcasm. I remember when I first saw this episode where Q says, "Games!? Did someone say games!? And perchance for interest sake a deadly game? To the game!" I immediately thought "Oh shit, what is he going to do?" I thought the game could have been a bit more interesting but it does make for some humour about the vicious animal things. When Riker gives them all gifts, I wish he had given Tasha and Picard something, I dunno what, but just something would have been nice. 1: The Neutral Zone. The Romulans finally show up and I just love it. I love the warbird, it looks fucking awesome. I love the outfits the Romulans are wearing and I don't think their makeup is that bad. True not much of a change from TOS but still different enough that I won't complain about it. I don't mind that the Romulans don't have a lot of screen time because as you mentioned it gets the point across that they are back. I also love the humans in this episode, they crack me up. The singer is my favourite, he is so funny.
Thanks again for a great season 1 of reactions to TNG. Here's my ranking of the top 5: 5: Heart of Glory 4: Conspiracy 3: The Arsenal of Freedom 2: Datalore 1: Coming of Age
Glad you're enjoying the series so far. Now that all the stinkers from season 1 are out of the way, get ready to be blown away by the first episode of season 2, which is... oh... Well, get ready to be blown away by most of season 2!
I think my favorite of Season 1 is Skin of Evil. Just the fact that they come across something that doesn't technically exist as a thing but they are still so powerless against was a pretty eye-opening moment for me. To think that there's something in the universe that causes us to realize how small we really are and how far behind we still are in comparison.
Good point. That episode has a very ominous, feeling of dread- type vibe to it that gets overlooked. I didn't overlook it as I didn't care about Tasha anyway (sorry). Lol
@@dupersuper1938 And a recurring character on that show was Bob Wheeler, played by Brent Spiner. 😊 Sadly, we lost Tracey Torme a few weeks ago at the age of 64.
In no order, but with fries: Conspiracy 11001001 Skin of Evil Coming of Age Heart of Glory Honorable mentions: Home Soil Where No One Has Gone Before Datalore (the Spiner/Bowman/Jones adventure hour party🥳 where they over-compensate Wesley, for which your solution would have been truly awesome if they did it back then) Haven (loved the subplot but the wedding for Dea and "Bill" were just enough...) (And) and Q story. Even the otherwise hokey one.
What a fun breakdown! Great Top 5's from y'all. Here are mine: 1. "11001001" 2. "Conspiracy" (and pretty much a tie in my mind) 3. "Heart of Glory" 4. "Where No One Has Gone Before" 5. "The Big Goodbye" Honorables: "Arsenal of Freedom" | "Coming of Age" | "The Neutral Zone" Break with the pack: "Datalore" | I think Brent Spiner and Data are great, but this one didn't do it for me despite some good moments Needs more love: "Too Short a Season" | Roundly criticized by all but me and the TA Boys. I enjoyed it. Important episodes: "Encounter at Farpoint" | "Skin of Evil" | They are only mid-level entertainment, but truly crucial things happen in each one.
I love this reaction series, and will continue to watch and like the videos. Unfortunately, since you (understandably) have to avoid the comments to avoid spoilers, any comments I make must necessarily be to the audience, not to the two of you. (What's up, audience?) It is disappointing that I cannot interact with the two of you, but keep up the good work and enjoy the ride (if you read this, which you won't). sigh
My top 5 (which seems to change from day to day): #5 Coming of Age (mostly for Mordok but also I liked the interrogations) #4 Where No One Has Gone Before (the visuals, Ron Jones' score, the overall mood) #3 11001001 (again with Ron Jones' score, I loved the design of the Bynars and the chill holodeck jazz) #2 Conspiracy (campy action and horror!) #1 Symbiosis (strong story and excellent performances all around, not including the "just say no" scene)
1 Heart of Glory 2 Coming of Age 3 The Big Goodbye 4 Skin of Evil 5 Conspiracy Honourable mentions Encounter at Farpoint Datalore The Naked Now The Battle Where No One Has Gone Before The Arsenal of Freedom Home Soil Lonely Among Us I like some of the others, but I seriously considered all of those for my top 5.
Season 1 Top 10 According to IMDb: (rated on a 1-10 scale) 8.2 Conspiracy 7.7 Datalore 7.6 Where No One Has Gone Before 7.5 11001001 7.5 The Neutral Zone 7.4 The Big Goodbye 7.3 Heart of Glory 7.2 Coming of Age 7.2 The Arsenal of Freedom 7.0 Encounter at Farpoint 7.0 Hide and Q (10th place tie) Bottom 5 According to IMDb: 5.2 Code of Honor 6.0 Justice 6.1 Too Short a Season 6.3 The Last Outpost 6.3 Lonely Among Us 6.3 Haven (3-way tie for 4th)
You each have your top 5, here are my personal top 10: 10 Heart Of Glory 9 Haven 8 Skin Of Evil 7 11001001 6 The Neutral Zone 5 The Arsenal Of Freedom 4 Where No One Has Gone Before 3 Coming Of Age 2 Conspiracy 1 The Naked Now Two episodes i'm not a big fan of are 'Too Short A Season', and 'We'll Always Have Paris'.
Many of my favorite TNG episodes, throughout the entire series... Are two parters. AKA.. Episodes with a to be Continued... You can figure it out when you get to them...
Score list out of 10 for me (as per SFDebris' system, my scores are relative to the series): e1+2: 3 e3: 2 e4: 1 e5: 2 e6: 4 e7: 2 e8: 2 e9: 3 e10: 3 e11: 3 e12: 4 e13: 6 e14: 2 e15: 5 e16: 6 e17: 2 e18: 4 e19: 6 e20: 6 e21: 3 e22: 3 e23: 3 e24: 3 e25: 7 e26: 5 This means my top 5 would be: 1) Conspiracy 2) Heart of Glory 3) Too short a season 4) Datalore 5) Coming of Age The season average (for me) is then 3.6, well below average.
Yeah I also like that shot when they entered the holodeck. It reminded me of when I walked into rides in Disney world and was completely transported somewhere else. Also I'm glad the Neutral Zone didn't make it. Aka an hour I'll never get back 😛
I'm not shocked that conspiracy was the top viewer pick, it was always the episode from season 1 that stuck out in my memory over the years for obvious reasons.
I seem to remember the head exploding in Conspiracy being censored out in some of the non-US versions, England and Australia maybe? Perhaps someone that knows can chime in.
My five would probably be Symbiosis, Home Soil, Arsenal Of Freedom, The Battle and Heart Of Glory. I don't disagree with any of your picks though, all decent episodes.
The only one on all three lists I didn't care for was Encounter at Farpoint, although I like the Q character. The rest are solid episodes. Now, we're waiting for Season #2!
We will probably invent the holodeck before we invent anything else that may be of more practical use. I might even be fine with that. The Big Goodbye is a great episode.
We are focusing on Star Trek right now. Babylon 5, BSG, Farscape & more are all options once we either can do this full time or finish Star Trek through Enterprise.
@targetaudience wait, through Enterprise? You aren't watching the newer series? Hopefully that's because of copyright concerns and not because you've already been brainwashed by the gatekeepers. (Granted, I'm being massively optimistic in assuming you don't get burnt out by then anyway lol)
If I understand correctly you are watching chronologically. I assume you will still be watching Star Trek The Final Frontier (TFF) at the end of TNG Season 2 as that’s how they were released in 1989?
@@targetaudience Yep. That's about right. Incidentally, something very interesting happened in November of 1988 with regards to the Trek 5 production. It had MAJOR ramifications going forward. We'll talk about that when you watch the movie...
I LIKED PURE STAR TREK ESP's........ WHERE THEY DEAL WITH ISSUES THAT WE HAVE TOO GO THOUGH IN REAL LIFE ...... LIKE IN " LET THIS BE YOUR LAST BATTLEFIELD"..... THAT WAS TRULY GREAT!!!!!!...... THE RACIAL THING.............
Heck, I'm going to list them all from worst to best in S1 broken down into four groups. Some of these are kind of arbitrary, especially in the middle packs. Next season, I'll have a classification of ELITE CLASSIC, but nothing qualifies in S1. Here goes nothin'! FAIL: Justice When the Bough Breaks Code of Honor The Last Outpost The Lonely Among Us Angel One +++ PASSABLE: The Naked Now Hide and Q Symbiosis Encounter at Farpoint The Battle Too Short a Season We'll Always Have Paris Datalore Haven +++ RECOMMENDED: Skin of Evil Home Soil Arsenal of Freedom Coming of Age The Neutral Zone The Big Goodbye Where No One Has Gone Before +++ OUTSTANDING: Heart of Glory Conspiracy 11001001 What I see here is the latter half of the season was better than the first half.
I'm a fucken weirdo I guess because my top5 looks very different. Probably because I don't really think of it as the best episodes in a vacuum, but the ones I personally remember most. In no particular order that would be Skin of Evil, Symbiosis, The Neutral Zone, Justice, and Coming of Age. I think Justice and Symbiosis have the strongest philosophical questions that stick with you over the years. And I think Skin of Evil does really well on rewatch with the context of all 7 seasons.
Good to hear, and that wasn't me throwing shade! Enjoy watching you guys and I'm looking forward to you seeing how great this show becomes as you progress through it!@@targetaudience
What do I know? I'm just an Ugly Bag Of Mostly Water watching two other Ugly Bags Of Mostly Water reacting to a bunch of other Ugly Bags Of Mostly Water (besides Dr. Beverly) pretending to be space-people. If I had to pick one, not Home Soil, either Farpoint or Heart of Glory.
My top five list is similar but I swap out Heart of Glory simply because the silly "Warrior Honor Warrior" Klingons are not the brutal totalitarian Klingons of TOS - Darn you Lenoard Nimoy for that change! So, Neutral Zone takes that spot for me, but that's probably biased from future episodes where the characters are more consistently written. Which reminds me of how important actors gatekeeping their characters in as it is most often the actors who say, "My character would never do that!" or "My character would do this!"

Guys, you know there will be references back to past episodes. You've got to remember the names of everyone. Not remeneroing a unique name like Minuet doesn't bode well. Do you remember the name Data's creator? There will be a test. If you're not steeped in the lore you'll fail.
As an aside, I've never taken to the holodeck episodes where they "go back in time" to our era. In a show about space exploration, I don't want the budget saving episode, which is really all those are.

Don’t forget to watch the Star Trek 5 film at the appropriate time. It was released theatrically between episodes 18 & 19 of season 2 🖖
Star Trek 5 has absolutely NO relevance to STNG.
Watching it at that exact time just seems pedantic. 🙄
That's what they plan to do. Exact release order -- just the way it unfolded for us. I think that's kind of cool, actually.@@MrDeathpilot

Since you loved "The Big Goodbye," you'd enjoy the movie on which the Halodeck scenes are based, 1941's Humphrey Bogart vehicle "The Maltese Falcon."
I loved all of your choices. I really loved Neutral zone. The 20th century people were a breath of fresh air and then bam Romulans.

You guys have a lot of Star Trek to watch. Are you going to take 3 or 4 weeks between every season?
Yes
It's not set in stone, but the internet is forever. (And that's why I can never go back to that Chili's.)
Also, writer Tracey Torme is the son of legendary singer Mel Torme.
Who I know only because I watched Night Court as a kid.
@@dupersuper1938 And a recurring character on that show was Bob Wheeler, played by Brent Spiner. 😊 Sadly, we lost Tracey Torme a few weeks ago at the age of 64.
@@libertubey2199 Nana Visitor was also in an episode. Plus a few rowdy trekkies.
Minuet was the holographic woman Riker fell in love with. 😉 🖖
Thanks for all the content!! Looking forward to more START REK :D
In no order, but with fries:
Conspiracy
11001001
Skin of Evil
Coming of Age
Heart of Glory
Honorable mentions:
Home Soil
Where No One Has Gone Before
Datalore (the Spiner/Bowman/Jones adventure hour party🥳 where they over-compensate Wesley, for which your solution would have been truly awesome if they did it back then)
Haven (loved the subplot but the wedding for Dea and "Bill" were just enough...)
(And) and Q story. Even the otherwise hokey one.
What a fun breakdown! Great Top 5's from y'all. Here are mine:
1. "11001001"
2. "Conspiracy" (and pretty much a tie in my mind)
3. "Heart of Glory"
4. "Where No One Has Gone Before"
5. "The Big Goodbye"
Honorables: "Arsenal of Freedom" | "Coming of Age" | "The Neutral Zone"
Break with the pack: "Datalore" | I think Brent Spiner and Data are great, but this one didn't do it for me despite some good moments
Needs more love: "Too Short a Season" | Roundly criticized by all but me and the TA Boys.
(What's up, audience?) It is disappointing that I cannot interact with the two of you, but keep up the good work and enjoy the ride (if you read this, which you won't). sigh
We are still reading comments, but only for the first few hours of release normally
I just realized you two are a lot like Siskel & Ebert, the movie reviewers from way back when, only you don't argue nearly as much.
Yes! "Search for Spock" is awesome!
My top 5 (which seems to change from day to day):
#5 Coming of Age (mostly for Mordok but also I liked the interrogations)
#4 Where No One Has Gone Before (the visuals, Ron Jones' score, the overall mood)
#3 11001001 (again with Ron Jones' score, I loved the design of the Bynars and the chill holodeck jazz)
#2 Conspiracy (campy action and horror!)
#1 Symbiosis (strong story and excellent performances all around, not including the "just say no" scene)
1 Heart of Glory
2 Coming of Age
3 The Big Goodbye
4 Skin of Evil
5 Conspiracy
Honourable mentions
Encounter at Farpoint
Datalore
The Naked Now
The Battle
Where No One Has Gone Before
The Arsenal of Freedom
Home Soil
Lonely Among Us
I like some of the others, but I seriously considered all of those for my top 5.
When are you guys starting season 2?
They have already. On Patreon we get episodes 5 and 6 next. On UA-cam they'll start with episode 1 on February 5th.
Thanks for the heads up.@@samlanganke1262
All star trek lists are subject to change over time; that is what makes it so awesome bexause more you watch perspective on priori stuff
I'd probably go
1 - Heart of Glory
2 - The Big Goodbye
3 - The Neutral Zone
4 - Datalore
5 - Conspiracy

6.3 Haven (3-way tie for 4th)
My Top 5: 5)Coming of Age 4) Conspiracy 3)Heart of Glory 2)Haven 1) 1100101
You each have your top 5, here are my personal top 10:
10 Heart Of Glory
9 Haven
8 Skin Of Evil
7 11001001
6 The Neutral Zone
5 The Arsenal Of Freedom
4 Where No One Has Gone Before
3 Coming Of Age
2 Conspiracy
1 The Naked Now
Two episodes i'm not a big fan of are 'Too Short A Season', and 'We'll Always Have Paris'.
Yep, Michael Dorn and Brent Spiner have the most interesting characters and the acting writing combo makes them fast fan favorites.
TAS introduced the Holodeck. TNG played it well.
They remember, they called the holodeck the ‘Rec room’ at first since that was their point of reference having finished TAS just a few months ago.
My Top 5 season 1
1. Conspiracy
2. Heart of Glory
3. Datalore
4. Coming of Age
5. Encounter at Farpoint
I just have to say, I love that you guys place Star Trek III at the top. (For me the only one that beats it is TMP)👍🏻👍🏻
Many of my favorite TNG episodes, throughout the entire series... Are two parters. AKA.. Episodes with a to be Continued... You can figure it out when you get to them...
Score list out of 10 for me (as per SFDebris' system, my scores are relative to the series):
e1+2: 3
e3: 2
e4: 1
e5: 2
e6: 4
e7: 2
e8: 2
e9: 3
e10: 3
e11: 3
e12: 4
e13: 6
e14: 2
e15: 5
e16: 6
e17: 2
e18: 4
e19: 6
e20: 6
e21: 3
e22: 3
e23: 3
e24: 3
e25: 7
e26: 5
This means my top 5 would be:
1) Conspiracy
2) Heart of Glory
3) Too short a season
4) Datalore
5) Coming of Age
The season average (for me) is then 3.6, well below average.
Lists are fun to talk about, and always individual, with no correct answers :-)
Yeah I also like that shot when they entered the holodeck. It reminded me of when I walked into rides in Disney world and was completely transported somewhere else.
Also I'm glad the Neutral Zone didn't make it. Aka an hour I'll never get back 😛
I vote you do a top 5 for ever season and then after season 7 you bring back all the lists and rank them top 35 order
Oh yeah...thanks guys
My five would probably be Symbiosis, Home Soil, Arsenal Of Freedom, The Battle and Heart Of Glory. I don't disagree with any of your picks though, all decent episodes.
The only one on all three lists I didn't care for was Encounter at Farpoint, although I like the Q character. The rest are solid episodes. Now, we're waiting for Season #2!
Let's all wait and see that final top 20 for all the seasons... then we'll see if any season 1 or 2 episodes make that list for them.
There's a season 2 episode that's one of my favourite Star Trek things ever. Just watch season 2 and There! It! Sits! Waiting...
I can’t wait for season 2 ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh plz
They have started season 2 already. On Patreon we get episodes 5 and 6 next. On UA-cam they'll start with episode 1 on February 5th.
We will probably invent the holodeck before we invent anything else that may be of more practical use. I might even be fine with that. The Big Goodbye is a great episode.
My list:
5.) Arsenal Of Freedom
4.) Datalore
3.) The Big Goodbye
2.) Skin Of Evil
1.) Conspiracy
Honorable Mention: 11001???😆
Time for season 2
Almost
They have started season 2 already. On Patreon we get episodes 5 and 6 next. On UA-cam they'll start with episode 1 on February 5th.
Lots of Trek to go, but I can't recommend Babylon 5 highly enough. Any chance of a watch through?
We are focusing on Star Trek right now. Babylon 5, BSG, Farscape & more are all options once we either can do this full time or finish Star Trek through Enterprise.
@@targetaudience Only through Enterprise?
@targetaudience wait, through Enterprise? You aren't watching the newer series? Hopefully that's because of copyright concerns and not because you've already been brainwashed by the gatekeepers. (Granted, I'm being massively optimistic in assuming you don't get burnt out by then anyway lol)
@@dupersuper1938Before we consider adding in other series (unless we can go full time before then)
@@stephenjones5132We plan to watch all of it.
If I understand correctly you are watching chronologically. I assume you will still be watching Star Trek The Final Frontier (TFF) at the end of TNG Season 2 as that’s how they were released in 1989?
Star Trek V released in between season 2 episodes 18 & 19. That’s when we’ll watch it.
@@targetaudience Yep. That's about right. Incidentally, something very interesting happened in November of 1988 with regards to the Trek 5 production. It had MAJOR ramifications going forward. We'll talk about that when you watch the movie...
When you’ve watched the entire series it’ll be interesting to see if any of S1 episodes are in your top 5 or top 10. I’m betting no.
It'll get really interesting when you guys have to start watching Star Trek: Deep Space 9 intermixed with TNG, since they will easter egg each other.
Top 5:
Heart of Glory
The Big Goodbye
Datalore
The Arsenal of Freedom
Too Short a Season
I LIKED PURE
STAR TREK ESP's........
WHERE THEY DEAL WITH
ISSUES THAT
WE HAVE TOO
GO THOUGH IN
REAL LIFE ......
LIKE IN
" LET THIS BE YOUR LAST
BATTLEFIELD".....
THAT WAS TRULY
GREAT!!!!!!......
THE RACIAL THING.............
"skin of evil" would be in my top 5.
Heck, I'm going to list them all from worst to best in S1 broken down into four groups. Some of these are kind of arbitrary, especially in the middle packs. Next season, I'll have a classification of ELITE CLASSIC, but nothing qualifies in S1. Here goes nothin'!
FAIL:
Justice
When the Bough Breaks
Code of Honor
The Last Outpost
The Lonely Among Us
Angel One
+++
PASSABLE:
The Naked Now
Hide and Q
Symbiosis
Encounter at Farpoint
The Battle
Too Short a Season
We'll Always Have Paris
Datalore
Haven

RECOMMENDED:
Skin of Evil
Home Soil
Arsenal of Freedom
Coming of Age
The Neutral Zone
The Big Goodbye
Where No One Has Gone Before
+++
OUTSTANDING:
Heart of Glory
Conspiracy
11001001
What I see here is the latter half of the season was better than the first half.
What happens in the holodeck...Stays in the holodeck.
... except for all the times it doesn't LOL
And to think that Brent Spiner turned down the chance to be a full-time cast member on Night Court for this...
Cool and all but when will you start to upload the season 2 reactions?
February 5th
@@targetaudience even cooler....now im exited for next month
I'm a fucken weirdo I guess because my top5 looks very different. Probably because I don't really think of it as the best episodes in a vacuum, but the ones I personally remember most. In no particular order that would be Skin of Evil, Symbiosis, The Neutral Zone, Justice, and Coming of Age. I think Justice and Symbiosis have the strongest philosophical questions that stick with you over the years. And I think Skin of Evil does really well on rewatch with the context of all 7 seasons.
A suggestion: At the end of the following seasons, do your top 5 of the season and your overall top 5 - just out of interest.
Feels like you guys are stalling getting started on season 2!
Nope! We always take a short break between seasons

Yeah, good list. But who the hell voted for justice???
How havent u started season 2 hahaha are you doing voyager etc.
Are you guys gonna milk each season this hard? Lol it's fine... just eager to get on with it. Love this journey. got a ways to go.
Is there a reason why it's taking so long to get on with Season 2?
It seems like Season 1 reactions ended weeks ago.

Guys, you know there will be references back to past episodes. You've got to remember the names of everyone. Not remeneroing a unique name like Minuet doesn't bode well. Do you remember the name Data's creator? There will be a test. If you're not steeped in the lore you'll fail.
Nope! Wouldn’t count on us remembering names. You’ve been here long enough to know that.

@@targetaudience Of course I do! I had a computer glitch and couldn't put 🤣🤣🤣🤣behind the coment.
As an aside, I've never taken to the holodeck episodes where they "go back in time" to our era. In a show about space exploration, I don't want the budget saving episode, which is really all those are.
It's much more than a show about space exploration...
I will resub when you get on with season two.
