The MOST CONTROVERSIAL SIGNING in Miami Dolphins HISTORY

- In 1987, the Miami Dolphins needed to sign a ton of players to fill out their replacement squad during the strike. One player that they signed was Texas A&M tight end Rich Siler. The only problem? Siler was a murderer, and was awaiting trial. And what the Dolphins did after Don Shula and company found out about this was shocking

"...if you had a pulse-- even if your victim didn't..."
It's this kind of lyrical prose that keeps me coming back to this channel time and again. Ya got a real gift, kid... and don't ever let anybody tell ya different.
When I heard him say that, a single chuckle escaped my throat. I don't know if that makes me a bad person, but I did immediately feel wrong for doing so and wished that I hadn't laughed. RIP to the poor young woman who lost her life due to a group of idiots (most likely high out of their mind) deciding to make several appalling decisions. I can't believe Shula let him stay on the roster for his "Special teams value" absolutely ludicrous in my opinion.

Guy was a true trailblazer for future legend Aaron Hernandez.
Hell, O.J. Simpson hadn't even committed murder yet when this happened.
The Pats cut their murderer. The Dolphins knowingly signed one.
And also future Rae carruth.
And that was the last time a team in the AFC East would sign a murderer.

Kobe Bryant and Karl Malone as well. Though they are in basketball.

That was parodied in The Replacements with Earl Wilkenson who was granted work release to play.
There's also the Mark Henderson "snowplow" story from 1982..which happened against the Fins in Foxboro.
I would like to see an episode when the L.A. Rams sign Suge Knight during the 87' strike.

The Cardinals and Packers had players who eventually became serial killers - Robert Rozier and Randy Woodfield.
Never heard about Robert Rozier.
@BronsonBAMNAllen after a short stint with the Cardinals, he joined a cult which, to please the leader, he had to kill a white person and bring back a body part. Crazy thing is that he killed seven people because of their skin color and only served ten years for it. Now he’s serving 25 to life under California’s three strikes law. The recent crime? Check kiting. While I think 25+ years is a lot for that, he was a serial killer and I’m glad he’s back in prison where he belongs
Legend has it that Siler cleared his gun after every single down that season.
I thought maybe this video was about Ray Finkle

The Pats cut their murderer. The Ravens built a statue to theirs. And the Fish did this. Chris Mortensen must somehow rule the universe.

Rod Bernstine was also on this roster and a decent pro. Whiff by Shula.
Big whoop. The Ravens signed and re-signed a murderer.

Even worse that murderer is that franchise’s icon. How fitting for a shithole like Baltimore. 😑
RIP to the poor young woman who lost her life due to a group of idiots (most likely high out of their mind) deciding to make several appalling decisions. I can't believe Shula let him stay on the roster for his "Special teams value" absolutely ludicrous in my opinion. Honestly if the NFL also wasn't a completely greedy and shameless organization, they wouldn't have had to worry about a player strike, but even if they did, they STILL rushed to put teams on the field that had no business being there for the sole purpose of trying to gain leverage against all of the striking players as well as to continue making money. That season should have been shut down as soon as the strike began.
Agreed! May the victim RIP🙏🏿 so sad😔
It'd be funny if someone saw the title and was thinking Ray Finkle.
Wait, Don Shula TO THIS DAY will say some pretty vile things about Mark Henderson because of the Snowplow game (never mind that any blame lies with Ron Meyer), and he not only signed, but kept on after the strike, a murderer who lied his way onto the team?
What an utter hypocrite.
You have, NO, IDEA, this is the same guy who left, The, Orange Bowl, uncovered, during a monsoon, and, laughed, after, it cost the Jets a 1982 Playoff Game, not, to mention, that Earl Morrall saved his, a**, in, 1972, and, rewarded him by benching him, in, the AFC Championship Game, only, Punter, Larry Seiple, prevented the upset, and, twisting the knife, he claimed he, "never, got the credit he deserved," (gee, I wonder why), finally, he chose Eugene Edward Morris, over, Csonka. Easy-Level is the secret to Tom Brady's success. Instead of opposing him, the other team _makes it easy_ for Tom to win.
But Tom is so basic that he can even lose games set on Easy-Level. Yes, he's that bad.
*HOW THEY MAKE IT SO DAMN EASY?*
There are many hidden rules that greatly handicap Tom's opponents as they are made to play in a foolish manner.
For example: Watch closely on short 3rd downs, Cowboys will usually line-up in zone defense and allow an easy conversion catch.
And even when they line-up in Man, they will give 7-Yards cushions that make it easy for Tom to convert for a 1st down.
In a real game defense always line up in tight, man-to-man and sticks to receivers like glue, making it hard to complete a short pass for a first down.
(Tom's own defense will apply tight man-coverage throughout the game. And always on 3rd downs.)
Also: Notice how the Easy-Level Cowboy defense will leave Tom's RB completely uncovered throughout nearly the entire game. This makes no sense but it's important to let Tom toss to his RB if he gets confused. (Tom's own Buc defense will always cover the RB, since that's the logical thing to do.)
Finally: Watch when Tom goes deep...the Cowboy defender will ignore the ball and never look back to intercept or deflect it.
(Tom's Buc D will always look back and try to intercept or deflect if they possibly can, since they won't be defending on Easy-Level.)
*If you pay attention to these three keys on Sunday Night you'll discover that Tom is playing on Easy-Level and isn't actually good at real football.*
Unless he is playing New Orleans
Perhaps, but, the Cowboys suck, anyway, which, also, factors in, additionally, Tom Brady, Takes, A, Team's, Heart, by, either, burying, them, early, or, sticking, around, late, the Rams, however, weren't, afraid of him, and, prevailed, I lived in, Tampa Bay, and, it's absolutely laughable, (at best), that the, overwhelming, majority of the population still thinks that the, "better," team, (and, QB), lost, that Game, (it, never, should have gotten to that point, at all).
@@someperson3883 Or, he dares the officials to penalize him, (and, his teammates), and, they, actually, do, or, they kick the ball, out-of-bounds, TWICE, or, he takes the, first, three, quarters, off, but, yeah, blame the, DEFENSE, for, losing, the Game, when they constantly saved Tom Brady, from himself, (until the, end).
And this has what to do with anything?

Wait, I want some clarification on the circumstances of the incident related to his case. The handgun in question originally belonged to a drug dealer whom he and his companion(s) encountered prior to the incident and stole said firearm. What I want clarified is who actually pulled the trigger. It sounded to me like it was his companion(s) and not himself. If that's so, wouldn't that make him an accomplice/accessory to the murder and not the murderer himself?
"Felony murder" means that if you participate in a crime that leads to someone's death, you're legally as culpable as if you'd pulled the trigger yourself.

The fact that he was a meaningless player on a replacement team is why he was kept around. There used to be a presumption of innocence in this country. It wasn't the climate it is now. Today, all it takes is some female saying she was "harassed" and a male celebrity is cancelled and blackballed. He hadn't been convicted of anything. Shula obviously saw something in him during practice. As far as keeping him around until February he broke his leg and even though he was a replacement player the NFL still had to cover his injury. You're making a bigger deal out of this than it deserved.
