DIY artist? "My management was shopping my record to different labels." I'm thinking DIY means something other than "Do It Yourself" Kudos to her for being talented & deeply connected within the music business. I can celebrate her success. I just wouldn't call it DIY.
Everyone’s definition of DIY is different. There’s no such thing as 100% “do it yourself.” Everyone has help. Everyone. Even if it’s your mom, best friend, distribution company, manager. I define DIY as no label whatsoever.
Completely lost interest in this episode when she got caught up in social justice vs. talking about the music industry. I'm so sick of hearing about the politics and everything being racist
LMAO big shock that a white dude from Texas, singing country music, doesn’t want to hear about Black folks wanting police brutality and abuse of the injustice system to stop lol. Go finish that diploma from the school of Desantis.
@@maggmaxxx There is liberty for all in America which is what I am most concerned with. But I'm sick of hearing about how people think everything is racist. If you don't like the actual Peter Pan story how it was. Which is a classic. How about you come up with your own unique new story? Maybe there is a lack of talent to make that happen I'm not sure. Just let the past be the past, and create new great pieces of art for this generation
Yeah I think it is okay for musicians to just be musicians. I would actually prefer my musicians to be just musicians. I don't need their politics in the forefront of everything they do. Make kick ass songs that's all.
@@dakota.lakoduk sooo you don’t like Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Tupac, U2, Public Enemy, John Lennon, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Roots, etc…I can keep going on. Most artists have music that holds our politics to the fire. Only white males have the PRIVILEGE to either care or not care about politics…the rest of us live and die by it.

Must be nice to only care about your experience in America…for the rest of us real patriots, we’ll keep pushing for “liberty and justice for ALL”.
