Rob Mashburn picking and singing is one of the smoothest you'll hear. He was one of the best picker/singer in the Carolina Mountains. So sad that he departed this life so soon. .
What memories come back to me from such wonderful times I spent with Rob Mashburn and Jerry Moore up in Andrews. It brings tears to my eyes remembering the times I got to spend playing with Rob at the jamboree and Georgia mountain fair. I was lucky to be given those those days. You will always be in my heart Rob. Love Richard,
Richard Johnson, hello you lucky man to have known Rob. I hope to visit America in real Life instead of the UA-cam soon to meetings the folk and hear the music. Best wishes from Scotland 🙏
Hiya Chance, much respect to you and your family. Your Papa's version of "Wildwood Flower" is by far the most beautiful one I've ever heard, it gives me goose pimples. Peace and love to you all from Scotland. 🙏💓🤠

@@irishcountryman4866 He was an unfortunate victim of CANCER. He continued to perform even during the illness. His voice remained strong and beautiful until the end of his life on this earth.

Who wrote this song? I wish another artist would take this tune to the top. Anyone who loves these hills appreciates and feels the love this song shows. Also, the picking is great.
I don't know. Rob's copyright records in Washington do not include Carolina Mountains. It's a favorite of mine too. A copyright is listed for: Carolina mountains / music & words by John D'Angelo & Dolores King but the lyrics are not listed. The recording studio was close to Young Harris, GA and closed over 20 years ago. I believe some of the recording group would still be alive but I have no contact information. Thank you James for the kind words.
Rob Mashburn should have been world famous, what a talent and fantastic backing singers and musicians too.
What a beautiful voice, I wish he was still here.
Beautiful voice and music

Lovely song beautifully sung ❤👍
Such a wonderfull voice, smooth yet defining.
A true voice of the soul.
How sad that he passed away at such a young age. Sadly missed.🎸
Love it, you were the real thing!
Listening to Rob's smooth sounding voice almost reminded me of Don Williams. Bet they would have made a good duo to sing some songs.
I just "found" him today, and I thought the same thing.
He was the real thing!!
Wonder and pure his music was! His feelings were real and true ly felt.
Real country

Wish I had "found" him earlier. He seems like a good person to be grandpa.
I hope you will be gifted to carry on some of his music.
