Neil and Rush was important too so many of us growing up. The immortal work of the three geniuses has been recorded for all time. That's a lot better than just a sad memory of lost greatness. Neil is not as dead as you might think. He was an athiest, but I know he's in heaven. God does not require anything, including belief in God, to get back home. So cheer up and crank it up! I'm going to setup a PC with a sound system and just keep it rockin on a channel like yours. Thanks!

My uncle has been a freelance photographer since the late 70’s and was shooting a Rush show in the Buffalo area sometime in the mid 80’s. Also a BIG Rush fan. He said “I was standing 10ft away from Geddy Lee, the guy was singing, playing chords on a keyboard with one hand, hitting open strings on his bass with the other, and hitting bass pedals with his feet…all at the same time…seen a lot of bands but never seen something like that!”

I've only become a Rush fan in the past one or two years, but in the past couple months, I've mourned the fact that I never got to see them perform. My dad got that privilege haha. This recording makes me wish I had a time machine so I could experience this for myself. Something about the mixing of the synth and guitar sounds SO good.

I was a freshman in college during this tour. I remember being put in charge of calling (only telephones at that time) to get tickets for me and three of my friends. I was trying to get tickets for the show in Oakland CA. I finally got through, and the operator told me the tickets had just sold out. I was really bummed and about to hang up when she said "wait, they just added a 2nd show!". I purchased four tickets. I can't recall how much they cost, I think about $30 or $40 each. There was no seat picking or anything like that. Just bought the tickets and that was that. Several weeks later when we arrived at the venue the staff kept sending us closer and closer to the front and down to the floor. When we finally found our seats, they were in the 4th row on Geddy's side! We were blown away. We had no idea how close we were going to be. For the next 3 hours, Geddy dazzled us with his skills. The whole band sounded great, of course, however, being that close to his side and all his equipment, the mix for us was heavy on the Ged. I was 20 years old at the time and had been a huge Rush fan my whole life. This was the first time, I'd had the opportunity to see them live. I went from huge fan, to raving fan that day. I'll never forget just being in awe of Geddy's talent. It is one thing to hear him, and quite another to see him do his thing live and up close. I've seen Rush many times since then, including the very last show in 2015 in LA. I never got the chance to get that close again. Fast forward to now, and reading Geddy's book, I'm really glad to have seen them on the Presto tour. Based on what he says, it seems like this was a really good time for them. They were all happy and healthy and playing at the top of their game. Such and amazing, yet somehow underrated band.

49 years old..dismissed Rush all my life after been given Power Windows on its release..I was a Aerosmith,Kiss,Journey and a Ozzy fan.Power Windows at the time was horrendous for me..By accident I listened to Signals 5 weeks ago..omg..Subdivisions is now my all time favourite song..it's epic.I went out the next week and bought the entire Rush catalogue..My what the fuck have I missed..best band on the planet..Rush have touched me in the last few weeks like no other..I'd say it's been spiritual..incredible.

Good points. They lost me at Power Windows, but I LOVED Grace Under pressure. All time favorites would have to be Spirit of Radio and Limelight. (Those two songs sound great together back to back--in that order.)

I stopped listening to new Rush in 1982 after buying Signals. One day in late 1989 (The year of the Ontario College Teachers strike and the TTC Work To Rule 'Slow Down") I heard this great song on the radio - Show Don't Tell. Even before Geddy sang I knew it was a new Rush song. A band I had ignored for 7 years. I went out and bought my first new Rush release in a long time. So I went back in time: Hold Your Fire, then Power Windows (blew me the fuck away), and then I bought Grace Under Pressure (WOW!). In May 1990 I saw my first Rush concert. I had fallen in love with the band all over again. I use to hate new Rush but it was just different. I guess I finally matured like the music did. Just my Rush story.

In more recent tours, Ged brought the Mini-Moog back which out which is the original synth sound. And Alex's guitars got thicker later too. For my tastes, their mid-90's and on live sound is the best they have ever sounded. I like the live versions of the songs better than the studio. Especially the early stuff. The albums were a hair thin, especially Alex's guitar. In the more recent live versions they are so much more sonically full sounding.
