I'm a knitter/crocheter and have TONS of yarn. I have everything from acrylic to wool to alpaca - so I'm no snob! But I've realized at my age that I'll never get to it unless I step it up somehow. So I've known about these machines for a few years and was going to get them last year (or the year before) but there was a run on them or supply chain issues, etc. I've been watching a lot of videos and went ahead today and ordered the 22, 40 and 48 inch machines.I have lots of grandkids and 3 live in snow country so I really want to make hats and earbands. I was really intrigued with the idea of knitting a sock but I think if I were to do it, I would skip the heel and just make a tube or pick up the stitches and knit the heel. Thanks for making this and showing what you can make on these machines!
Girl, you rock! I am blessed to have found your channel. I have been hand knitting for well over twenty years. (huge workout on my hands). Your socks are amazing, I have ordered both the 22 and 48 Knitting Machines, in a few day's I will be learning how to Machine Knit. Thank You for your inspiration.
Another project which is helping to convince me that I need one of these machines. Thank you! It wouldn't have occurred to me to go from circular to panel knitting.
I have 2 sizes, 40 and 48. Now I want this 22! I spin out 4 beanies per night on these machines in 2 sizes! What a great birthday/Christmas gift for nieces and girlfriends😃
This is the best tutorial that I have ever seen. You are detail oriented and very skilled. The camera work was excellent. I enjoyed this video very much.
Socks are a challenge. I learned sock knitting by hand it's not easy took me a few tries to get short rows correct for heel and toes. Good for you for trying. If you have a circular knitting loom try on that first then go to the knit machine. I have made socks on knit loom also. You'll get it 👍
Thank you for the video .. it's really very useful and i love the technique 🌹 and i was thinking of doing the heels with the tunisian crochet techniques .. i don't know how yet but i like to try that 🤔 coz it will be easier with pucking the loops at once .. and it won't be thick like crochet stitches .. 🌹🌹
I just got my machine did not know you could do 2 threads. I got some sock stop from Amazon so I don’t slip and break my neck lol. Thanks again for videos.
Yeah! As long at the yarn isn't too thick, you can double strand. Usually I'll work with a 2 or 3 weight double stranded in this machine because otherwise the fabric can be a little thin. Oh my gosh lol please do be careful!
You could also skip the toe and heel bit and make yoga socks and simply crochet all those seams thank u for the tutorial and in case anyone was concerned if the stitches between the knits and crochet don’t blend you could also just use the same color yarn I think she used the different color yarn more for clarity in the tutorial but this is great
I read your maker notes it says that you used 6 inch from toe to heel. Do the 8 panel rows count in the 6inch or do u count the 8 panel row to the 29 row you do for the top of the sock

Hi! Thank you for this super handy video. Do you think this sentro size would also be suitable for making knee/this high socks or leg warmers? Greetings!
Oh! Sorry it's been so long since I made this lol I just went down a row (under one of the horizontal bars between the stitch), inserted my hook, did my yarn over and single crochet as I normally would. 💖
I am still practicing with machine changing colors etc but when I tried to put 2 threads it was hard to turn and skipped on the gear also what am I doing wrong? I have a small adi but a large sentro the small one is the one I’m practicing on.
Um... are you using 1 or 2 weight yarns when you double strand? That's what I'm using when I work socks and other projects like this. If the yarn is too think, I know for sure it'll do that.
Hi! I usually don't recommend a fingering weight because the resulting fabric is super thin. If you do want to use it though, I'd suggest using a double or triple strand.
Hi, I've had my machine to wear down over time and I eventually replaced mine. There are tutorials out there now though that show how to take it apart and replace pieces.
Hi! All of that info is included in my blog post here 😊 www.infiniticraftingcompany.com/post/how-to-knit-socks-on-the-22-needle-sentro-mini-knitting-machine
Hi Bonnie, I haven't tried it but I don't see why you couldn't do that! I'm sure there would be adjustments to be made since the tube on the 48 is so much larger.
The only kind of sock you could make on a machine that big would be a Christmas stocking. The big machine was meant for larger projects like hats, scarves, and sweaters.
Are you familiar with knitting socks? Usually, you start with the shaft that goes up your leg, and you knit in rounds. This is what she starts out doing. After that comes the heel, where you only knit a certain amount of stitches going back and forth. Then you knit in rounds again for the part that covers your foot, and eventually you do decreases to get the tip for the toe. The knitting machine has two settings, one for rounds (tube) and back and forth rows (plain). She switches between these modes to create an opening at the heel where she then can manually insert a heel cap.
@@maxmiller5431 : Plus, the fact that the Addi cost significantly more! Yes agree with you re knit the heel and also pick up the top with a circular needle and do 1X or 2X rib before casting off.
Oh. You could do an afterthought heel with this sock if you can figure out which needles match the Guage

I think knitting a standard " afterthought heel" would look and function a lot better.
Same here, I've been working on that recently. I'm not a sock knitter though so it's a learning curve. 🤣
@@InfinitiCraftingCo Oh I see :) well once youve learned it, the heel is the most fun part :)
How would you do that.
I have the big sentry but the small addi. So I am going to try it on the addi
Thank you for the tutorial, just got a large and small Sentro and have only done hats and scarves so far.
Can this work with just 1 strand of socks weight? Or it won't catch? Love this video BTW 💙

Hi! Thank you for this super handy video. Do you think this sentro size would also be suitable for making knee/this high socks or leg warmers? Greetings!
Depends what body type you have if you’re a little more thick no I’d say use the 48 machine
Is it easy to do that I've know tensioner on mine knitting machine
Whenever I try to add the waste yarn it drops that middle stitch, should i be skipping the middle of the three hooks?
How did you do the chain 1 at 21.38? I'm quite new to crocheting 🫣😊
Oh! Sorry it's been so long since I made this lol
I just went down a row (under one of the horizontal bars between the stitch), inserted my hook, did my yarn over and single crochet as I normally would. 💖
I think it would have been easier and neater to put the stitches onto a circular needle and do a k1 p1 rib at the cuff of the sock.
I am a size 8 how many rows do I do
I struggle with the heel part😢
From my naive point of view the weave seems pretty coarse for socks. Are the comfortable/practical to wear?
Thanks.
These were okay but the heels were a bit course. I recently did an overhaul for my members that vastly improved the look and feel of them though
@@InfinitiCraftingCo Thanks.
Can you use a 48 needle for the socks I have a sentro

22 needless machine kranking very loudly is this also by you too
Hi,

So you can’t do this on the 48 needle machine
Hi Why did you not use 1 in stead of 2 yarns at a time for the sock please
The yarns were really thin and she needed to double them up for the right gauge
Can uknit the heal
Sure! I haven't experimented with that yet but I'm certain it's possible
@@InfinitiCraftingCo I would love to learn how to do that if u could do a video of that sometime. Thank you
