That's still a valid definition of the two terms. It's not about being shy or outgoing, it's about whether you draw your energy from people or from being by yourself.
Pelican Princess lmao um sorry to burst your bubble but the recharging thing is real. that’s literally the definition, like if they recharge from being around people or being by themselves, that’s the difference between an introvert vs extrovert.
I totally relate to Alex like yes he’s an introvert but somebody has to take an initiative and speak otherwise we’ll just stare at each other awkwardly. And once you find your people with your vibe it’s easy to go deep and let things out.
I knew it was Tay since the 2nd round lol. She was way too stereotypically shy and her voice sounded smooth but overly quiet whereas some other people like Alex had a voice that was wavering quite a lot but still loud.
elysiankeara yes, exactly. People confuse being an inteovert, which is a personally trait, with having social anxiety, which is an anxiety disorder and mental illness. They’re very different and just because someone is shy does not mean they have a diagnosed anxiety disorder!! :)
i'm sorry but none of these people were social recluses, it's obvious you didn't watch the whole video. i'm pretty sure a social recluse would never in a million years participate in an internet video where they had to interact with other people.
At first i didnt read that the first round was a "silent round" i thought everyone was shy so they kept looking at each other to see who will speak first 🤭
Iris I think it was to see what the stereotype for introvert is ... to see how people who typically judge someone on if there a introvert or not and how he other people would interpret the looks of a introvert by not even speaking to them...
@@nitinrai8474 Some of us subconsciously skip over it because we expect it to say speed round, especially since its one minute long. What also didn't help was that both words began with an 'S'. Or in other cases, we could be tired *cough*
Introverts aren’t “shy” people. It’s just people who can get drained in big groups, and need to be alone to recharge. Or just enjoy being in their own company.
Exactly lol. I can give presentations in class no problem, I can interact with people no problem. I was a TA in a class last semester and had to teach one day because the professor had a family emergency. Didn't bother me and I actually had fun because I loved the class.
I feel like the definition of introvert has evolved over the years, and sometimes I get confused. I identify with, if you will, the definition that describes an introvert as being a person who's shy, sometimes awkward in various social situations; like during presentations, big gatherings, etc. and keeps to themselves majority of times - moreso due to enjoying their own company.
I feel that. People ask me why I didn’t say much when I met them. Like dude I barely know you I have to be comfortable sharing stuff and being myself with you for all I know you could be a crazy judgmental person. Like if you give me the chance to get to know me I’ll trust you and you’d see that talkative side. I don’t get how people can share so much with strangers
As an introvert, I would definitely have spoken out at the first round, because the awkward silence and especially just staring at each other in silence is something (iykyk) introverts dread way more than talking. I'm currently at minute 1:26 and I'm pretty sure this is one of those mock episodes where everyone is the mole, and all of them are just extroverts trying to adhere to the stereotypes
An introvert is someone who gets their energy from being alone. They need to recharge with themselves as oppose to an extrovert who gets their energy from being around others. Introverts could be social butterflies and love parties and hanging with others. They could be extremely confident.
Yeah I’m an introvert but I actually do also have social anxiety that’s not because I’m an introvert though I used to have no social anxiety and I still was an introvert this video honestly annoys me like check your facts god damn it These people are showing signs of social anxiety not introversion. Making me wanna pull my fingernails out !!
I'm an introvert....I've always needed my alone time. I have no problem with and actually enjoy living alone. But when I'm with friends and or people I like I can be very talkative and funny. But if I'm around people I don't know, or don't like I will not talk much. But that doesn't mean I'm afraid to talk. If I have something to say I will usually be the first to speak up and make my opinion known.
I wouldn’t call myself an introvert if I had the decision, because when I get to actually become fond of the person, I talk to that person slightly more. But with like BEST friends... I be like- “yOoOoOoOoOoOo wUsSuP mY dUdEs” XD
I got it from the silent round because she stood still all throughout. It meant she was trying to show she was comfortable not talking. It meant that she was comfortable and in control in social situations. The truth is most of us introverts are not comfortable because we’re nervous, jittery, or want to say something but don’t know what or how.
People can be introverted because they have social anxiety. There could be a difference but I don't think these two are entirely different from each other.
@@muftau7 Apparently Im an introvert.....on the way to a party I hated it and didn't wanna go but at the party, I was playing video games, screaming, making friends by saying whatever I wanted too and I got super energized and stayed all night found out I just have severe social anxiety and Im actually extroverted cuz people make me happy and energized but Im just extremely shy and can't talk
She never said they don’t have fun smh, she was saying that the party setting typically wouldn’t resonate with an introvert so they would have more fun in smaller gatherings
@India Tate introversion does not equal social anxiety, and this is something that people get mixed with very easily. Social anxiety is when you try to avoid as much social interaction possible and you are actually scared of it. Introverts on the other hand prefer to be alone, but are not as frightened as social Anxiety. Introverts can go to a party and have fun.
@@user-hx9dc3xb9y Actually let me correct you on just one thing. Social anxiety doesn't mean somebody is going to avoid as much social interaction as possible, they just struggle with socializing and fear it..but fear does not mean hate. I know many people with social anxiety that really want to make friends and socialize but they struggle too..myself included. Many people with social anxiety have determination and motivation to make friends, all it is is the fear that is letting them down. But everything else you said is spot on
As a non-shy introvert, I don't really feel represented by anyone in this group. I'd be the life of the party but then have to hibernate by myself for two weeks straight.
It's insane how the mole had the most accurate definition of what an introvert is and I related sooo much to everything she said. And I felt like those weren't the cliché things you hear about introverts if you're not one yourself so she really had me fooled. I'd say by far the best mole I've ever seen on one of these
Huge difference. Damn even if some introverts are like this, this makes me feel like I'm being an introvert the wrong way??? Like we're not allowed to act like we don't have a social anxiety or loud. 😬
@Sasha A. Yup, it's straining having both and just sabotaging yourself up all the time with the way I think giving me such low self confidence and what
Yeah but how else she could act as one if not from stereotypes? If she isn't introvert, she can't understand what it is like, so she need to take information and actions from somewhere.

giulia kh exactly! Like I make new friends super easy but I’m definitely more of an introvert... being an introvert isn’t being antisocial and just shy
I’m an introvert but I’m really loud and often converse with my classmates or friends especially. Like most people say introversion and social anxiety isn’t the same thing. Yes it is possible that introverts can have social anxiety but not all of us do.
To me an introvert is someone is is reserved likes alone time doesn’t like being too social especially with random people doesn’t make you an awkward person
exactly the misconception that introverts are shy and closed off is so annoying like I am talkative and I have no problem socializing it's just that I prefer spending time alone
i didn’t like how jubilee portrayed introverts as only shy, soft-spoken people, especially w the whispering and the silent round. not all of us struggle w social situations or conversation, it’s really varied like alex was saying! i feel like this would’ve been better as a spectrum episode imo
You should do a whole series with all of the 16 MBTI personalities, like for example 6 ESTPs in a room and one secret INTJ or something like that. Maybe the mole could be the exact opposite type, that would be interesting
Wouldn't work cause people don't know their type according to theory but just fill 16p in with their preferences. The amount of enfp's I've seen that test intj and share that without even reading the results. Or esfj's that test as infj. It's crazy how off these test can be. Also I'm pretty sure I know a esfp and she tested istj.. So you put a room full of intj's and chances are none of them are.
i feel like the mole was acting like the cliche of an introvert, talking quiet and her posture. introverts act like normal people they just need space sometimes after being around people.
I knew it was her since 0:37 because she was the only one who didn’t smile LIKE I ALWAYS GET SHY OR NERVOUS AND I SMILE IN THIS SITUATIONS AND EVERYONE DID EXCEPT HER. She looked too serious
the worst misconception is that introverted people are all quiet and shy and boring,,, edit: what im trying to say is that not ALL introverts are inherently quiet because they’re introverts
@@Ria_N9 introverts dont talk or do anything special so theyre automatically BORING, they dont wanna talk or interact with anything because theyre SHY which makes them QUIET
@@juliao.m.2419 In the first round, I find Alexis (the girl in full black) was being stereotypical. Looking at the floor, and wasn't she supposed to look at people to find the mole, I thought.
I was just amazed at how they voted out Alex even though he was basically just explaining what an actual introvert REALLY is instead of the stereotypical "I'm shy and can't talk and I have to whisper" most people think when they hear the word "introvert"
NamelezZ the same thing happened In the gamers one, this girl was such a pro explaining why a guy was wrong and he got voted OFF yet the whole point was to vote out the people who new nothing about gaming jeez I’m so pissed lmao sorry

why does no one know what being an introvert is? we're not necessarily antisocial, quiet, insecure or tired/not energetic, the fact is we are just made tired from social interaction.
Kharon Haden except not all introverts are silent people, or enjoy being in complete silence. i’m an introvert and cannot stand being in silence. i always have to have music playing or a video going because otherwise it feels really awkward.
Wow the mole fooled me that’s for sure! I had about 3 guesses before them. Great episode! Also loved hearing from other introverts, I actually don’t have any close introverted friends so it was nice hearing people say things that i feel and think I’m the daily, and even feel guilty about at times because my friends are extroverted
keep in mind this is edited. I'm sure that what at least a few of these people said wasn't in the right context. dangelo wallace made a video where he interviewed someone on jubilee. in the filming, she said "depression is a spectrum" before describing what it was for just her, but they cut out the first part, making it sound like she said what depression was like for everyone (it was a part of a video about gen-z and millennials).
I found it frustrating how they thought they had to ‘whisper’ and ‘not look too comfortable’ to not get voted out... introverts can be comfortable around people it just drains a lot of energy
@@anonymousperson3023 it shouldn’t be. These videos should represent different groups of people how they really are, not what people outside the group think they are.
@@Bbhjdidbsbaut Antoine said it the best at the end: introverted people get their energy from being alone in their own headspace; whereas, extroverts get that energy from being around other people.
@@Bbhjdidbsbaut It usually comes in a package, but introversion and extroversion aren't just 2 categories. It's more like a spectrum. I'm shy around groups of people I don't know, but around my friends I'm a party animal. I have a hard time beginning a conversation, but the moment it gets going - I can't stop.
L. Winter I saw this picture once, which on one side said Anxiety/shyness (don't remember) and the other Introvert. The picture depicted a girl standing on a stage in front of a crowd of people. On the shy/anxiety side, a speech bubble showed the girl thinking about how she was scared and uncomfortable with the situation. On the introvert side, it showed her thinking about how she was excited for this to be over so she could go home and relax alone.Something like that, at least.
I’m an ambivert and got hella annoyed at all the people who voted against people who didn’t whisper or carried the conversation along. Like they legit stereotyped themselves wtffff
@@TheOrchidBird What else are you meant to base it on? You can really determine the energy draining thing in this type of setup, so you go for what people tend to think an introvert is.
@@mywigisontheground2750 *at all* maybe yes, but *somewhat* It does mean this. I am an introvert, and I've always had this issue of not having too many friends just 2. And the only reason for that is I don't talk much, I can't get my feelings out, I get socially awkward. And that's it, introverts do try to hold things in themselves and not let it out right? Especially when meeting new people.
@@Silverswitch1 you are right. Of course, we are not totally talking about social anxiety. We are talking about that phase, which eveey introvert has before feeling free around someone
I think he/she (didn’t get to that part yet) means like since introverts prefer being by themselves more they might not like parties because there’s people there and an extrovert would like the party since they love being around others. But he might not know that introverts can still like parties
I'm an introvert and the silent round made me so mad!! Like, it would have been so much better with extroverts because they prob wouldn't have been as awkward and uncomfortable the whole time (correct me if I'm wrong though) and they wouldn't probably had a good time. sorry if i'm overreacting but that was so frustrating. I honestly hate silences, which is why I wait for a more extroverted person to start a conversation lmao
I don't agree. Maya was completely at ease standing with a group of people while not saying anything. She's obviously experienced with that, and wasn't the mole. Antoine was also pretty relaxed. Alexis was my early pick for mole just based on how fidgety she was in the silence.
tay's definition of introversion is spot on. introversion isn't based on how loud or quiet you are, it is how you gain your energy. you can have loud introverts and shy extroverts.
Ikr. I love how she is an extrovert but still knew the definition of introverts. Whereas the ones who claimed themselves to be introverts were so stereotypical. They kind of confused social anxiety with introversion. And that really annoyed me lol
i didn't read "silent round" and for the first 10 seconds i was like "oh, okay. They really just gonna play up introverts as people who can't speak thats _fantastic_ "
When Alex explained that he took the leader role once he was around other introverts is soooo relatable, you'll have some introverts that takes leadership role by last option just not to waste unnecessary energy and it's sad because without him the conversation wouldn't have prceed as much It's also sad that they portray all introverts as shy and silent
Introvert is literally defined as shy or reserved. I get what you're saying, but a lot of people mistakenly think they are introverts because they need time alone. Everyone needs time alone, it's that introverts predominately need time alone/"recharge" by being alone.
I'm just lik that. I'm especially introverted around people who already know each other. Like if I'm in a group of introverts I will be the one to talk first, but if I'm in a group of extroverts I'm super silent
As an introvert I'm finding this so damn annoying. Why is everyone talking so low and soft? Being an introvert doesn't mean you're afraid to speak normally ffs.
Um, introverts can talk like normal people, you guys know that right? Like we aren't whispering all of the time. Infact I am an introvert, but I tend to talk way to loudly if I get to into a conversation. Edit: Thanks you all the likes and replies, this is the most I have ever gotten

Didn't bother me and I actually had fun because I loved the class.
but we do tend to be way more shy than the average extrovert. Most of the people I know, who hate public speaking, are introverts.
I agree 100%

Like, it would have been so much better with extroverts because they prob wouldn't have been as awkward and uncomfortable the whole time (correct me if I'm wrong though) and they wouldn't probably had a good time. sorry if i'm overreacting but that was so frustrating. I honestly hate silences, which is why I wait for a more extroverted person to start a conversation lmao
i agree sm
I don't agree. Maya was completely at ease standing with a group of people while not saying anything. She's obviously experienced with that, and wasn't the mole. Antoine was also pretty relaxed. Alexis was my early pick for mole just based on how fidgety she was in the silence.
BRO YES I'm an introvert and I talk alot I'm not quite unless I get like really shy or embarrassed
I would've laughed because of how awkwardly silent it was and probably be the first one to be kicked out.
Picked her out as soon as she said "I'm an introvert". It was the whisper and her fashion, later confirmed by her over compensating body language.
tay's definition of introversion is spot on. introversion isn't based on how loud or quiet you are, it is how you gain your energy. you can have loud introverts and shy extroverts.
yes
This is true, I’m a shy extrovert
@@OnlySolii that's cool
Ikr. I love how she is an extrovert but still knew the definition of introverts. Whereas the ones who claimed themselves to be introverts were so stereotypical. They kind of confused social anxiety with introversion. And that really annoyed me lol
Exactly
i didn't read "silent round" and for the first 10 seconds i was like "oh, okay. They really just gonna play up introverts as people who can't speak thats _fantastic_ "
same loolll
Jessika Kaitlan SAMEE LMAO
Jessika Kaitlan SAME I-
Same lolol
i was like tf goin on
When Alex explained that he took the leader role once he was around other introverts is soooo relatable, you'll have some introverts that takes leadership role by last option just not to waste unnecessary energy and it's sad because without him the conversation wouldn't have prceed as much
It's also sad that they portray all introverts as shy and silent
Prince Dre I’m similar 😭 it’s like I become extroverted when I’m around other introverts it’s weird
Agreed. I don't like this ongoing stereo type that introverts are all antisocial, quiet, have no friends and can't communicate. It's so unrealistic.
Prince Dre Which part of the video is that?
Because it's normal for them
Well, I talk that way when I know new people, normal.
I'm an introvert, but I feel like they took being an introvert a little to serious
Your picture tells me you are not an introvert
Agreed
Y’all don’t know what introvert means☠️🤦♀️
Wats uh introvert
nobody wants to say they are an extrovert.
Um, introverts can talk like normal people, you guys know that right? Like we aren't whispering all of the time. Infact I am an introvert, but I tend to talk way to loudly if I get to into a conversation.
Edit: Thanks you all the likes and replies, this is the most I have ever gotten
I'm very quiet though. People are different so they just picked some from one end of the spectrum
Truuuee ... especially to your friends and fam but I can't talk to them eye to eye... 🥺 scopophobia..
Yea same, I talk like a normal person it’s just that sometimes I’m a little shy
Same, I get super loud and it's a huge point of stress for me, because i feel annoying.
YYYEEEEEESSSSS
the opposite way of this would be hilarious. seeing an introvert trying to be extraverted? iconic.
I would fail at that tbh. 😂
snowysnowwish that’s exactly what i thought when i saw the title
Lmaoo I just thought about it and yeah it would be sooo funny
UPVOTE I really want to see this 😂😂
I’m actually kinda good at pretending to be loud it’s just not fun
