Brad Mehldau has some really interesting ideas about Monk. So many of Monk's tunes have this ineffable weirdness, they're a bit deranged in paradoxically rational way. Mehldau gets that.
Even when he's not there(physically)Monk's music always brings out the best in everyone. Bernstein is truly a cooker!

Monk often does the same during someone else's solo. Leaves them to their own devices so he could get up and dance around the room

It's Brad that plays the Db on piano, Peter plays D natural.
Some People imo opinion confuse monks humor with odd voicing, meters, and dissonance. Monks music made people want to dance and smile. Just imo.
