A HOTM like skill concept for foraging combined with the new way of cutting trees sounds interesting, hyped for that! Even though the update took a while, im glad to see they’re actually taking this seriously and giving us a lot of interesting content

@@cenkxproshadowarrior7789 they would never fully switch off 1.8 its like the majority of their playerbase, im p sure regardless of version youll always be able to join hypixel
not to mention dripstone as well too
i don't believe they will force players to play the entire server on 1.20, mainly because it would kill stonking in dungeons among other things

Tbh primal dragon is gonna crash the other dragon armor sets (expect maybe superior idk) cuz of the dragon waves
@@_Ls21 why isnt more powerful armor needed? The way primal armor was shown was way too powerful, but we definitely need some better armor than necron for dungeons. I have never seen a game where an item has been the only viable choice for 4 years without better items getting introduced

I'm really excited because once the foraging update is done they'll have 100% of the developing team to work on possibly:
New dungeon floors
Reworked skills (Alchemy possibly)
Reducing power creep
Reducing inflation
probably more. The game's going to be a lot better once the foraging update is done.
this is the problem with the sky block community, already thinking about other updates rather than the ones the admins are trying to show off
This is possibly the best time to ever have been a skyblock player. Glacite tunnels just released, new mayor system which could be a huge update, then the foraging update which could be the biggest in the games history, and finally the primal dragons. And much to look forward to with large updates that have been hinted at with incomplete parts of the game/hubs and future ones after that

Power creep is not a bad thing. Also, the game barely has power creep to begin with. Necron is still the second best melee armor set in the entire game and it came out 4 years ago!
I have been working on a fishing update with my friend over the past couple weeks, and one of the core mechanics on these new islands literally had pressure and pressure resistance. I could not believe it when I saw it, but I am hoping to submit the now 100+ page document to hypixel and see if they want to implement some of our ideas like the pressure to a brand new fishing update. Also W FORAGING IN THREE WEEKS

Description: "A muantant sea creature, with armys of spines around its back, and explosions and burp constantly rocket out of it due to its consumption of nuclear waste and the pollution of the sea"
Tier I Boss mob: pufferfish
Spines: Whenever you hit the monster or you get hit, you gain 1 stack of a effect called spines, and each spine stack reduces 0.1% of your speed, deals 1 true damage per second, and also reduces the effectiveness of amour by 0.25%
Tier 2 Base mob: Guardian

Needle Wave
On 95%, 70%, and 25% health:
A warning will briefly show, and the boss will shoot out 8 needles spread out in a circle around. These Inflict 5 stacks of Spines when coming in contact with the player. After 3s, a secondary wave will be performed, each needle now doing 6 stacks.
Tier 3 base mob: guardian
Spines
Reduce speed 0.1 -> 0.45
Needle wave
Needless per wave 8 -> 10
Blowfish
Every 15th hit this boss takes, it displays a warning and a hissing sound starts. After a few seconds, a massive explosion occurs. If you are in the explosion you take 350 true damage and gain 30 stacks of spines.
Tier 4: base mob:elder guardain

True damage 1 -> 2
Needle wave
Needles per wave 10 -> 12
Blow fish
30 -> 50 stacks punishment
Electro chaos
Every 4 strikes this monster takes, it creates 3 coal blocks nearby. After a few seconds, it strikes lighting on those coal which deals 200 true damage and 10 stacks if you are in 1 block of the strike

What would be cool is if there was an NPCs that gave you a mini game to forage up some mushrooms, basically you’d be teleported to an enclosed part of the forest and you have to find the mushrooms find-the-button style. Each mushroom gives foraging xp and finding all of them results in a bonus load of xp.

That sounds kinda fun but it would be more interesting if they added like a mini boss or smt that spawns while looking for mushrooms

the island pictures have post 1.8.9 blocks, do you think their gunna force force-push skyblock to the newest version? or have they already done that
I hope they still keep the park as a starter island before you get to the main foraging island a bit like the farming islands. this will allow players who would still like to play only on 1.8.9 (mostly ironman) to still get wood and for newer players to gain maybe an entry requirement and base understanding of foraging.
With this update they should also implement a way to fix mining being ping reliant. What if you mine gemstone veins the same way you kuudra stun, and just mining any block on the vein to will give you gems and passively decrease the vein size? This should be easy to implement seeing how the core mechanic already exists. You don’t need to actually physically break blocks to get gems, so ping doesn’t matter.

My prayers have been finally heard... 1 and a half years i've stopped playing hypixel skyblock for some reasons, and i didn't come back yet because i didn't feel like it was the time, now with this update, i'll be planning to finally come back, as foraging always was my favourite skill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS HYPIXEL AND ADMINS !!!!

The dragon eggs really Intrests me, maybe a new crazy expensive lvl 200 dragon pet that’s costs like 500m and a crazy new log. Could be good for mystic damage and maybe instead of it being a rare occurrence anyone can find it would be a reward for reaching the deepest depths

@@StetsonRockno. 5k fortune isn’t THAT insane. It would make it the best money making method for a day, but that’s it.
@@Ducksaregreati think you misunderstood. Their concern was that the fortune system would break with negative fortune giving squid billions of potatoes per right click or potentially crash lobbies
@@Stu67ntWhilst that would happen in regular minecraft, in hypixel the fortunes are coded entirely separately to the game itself. Hence why it isn’t like regular fortune in minecraft where the amount dropped with fortune 3 is like 1-4 items for single drop items. The -5000 could work but honestly i don’t know why they would ever. The game moves on.

you'll be able to play skyblock on 1.8 but the new foraging island is only gonna be available if you're on 1.20 (I think)

I like most of that, but I'm not a fan of each tree having a unique way to cut them down, it feels like it's too often that the developers answer to needing new content is to just add minigames, first dungeons, then enchanting, then mining, basically the entire rift, and now foraging too, I just feel like not everything needs to be a minigame
