Great vid! Enjoyed it a lot. Reminds me of working in sydney cbd in the 90s and early 2000s, I used to ride down those stairs at the harbour bridge and also back up them every day to work in North sydney. Rode a mountain bike as the commuter with continental semi slicks. It is the best view in the world crossing the harbour bridge when the weather is nice.
Like all the other people here a very entertaining video which was wide ranging and being a dog man was fantastic to see all the dogs and you have fun.my daughter has a massive rottweiler who would have enjoyed playing with them.

Great vid Josh! This is my usual commute. That uphill to Crows Nest aint fun at the end of a long day but the ride across the bridge makes up for that!
i work in the field 100% and the best thing about it is taking the feedback into consideration but also critics so i know i wouldn't say mandatory but it defiantly gives a sense of skin in the game when engineers get into the thing considering most people without a degree are so fast to point the finger back at "engineers" for the pitfalls or poor results. and we like bagels too so that could be the icebreaker and if not job done.
You raise a good point. As I said in the video I used to be field based a lot more. This was maybe 1-2 years ago when we were developing the design. Now we have moved much further along and the consultation phase is over. We still talk to people regularly but that role has been transitioned to the Community and Stakeholder team. Great video, It's good to see the infrastructure for cycling,they're about to open the last leg from Tempe Park to the Airport,so far it's been detour through Mascot to get to the Airport,but the last path will open in September,taking you all the way to Domestic from Tempe, not an exciting destination,but it's a nice commute if you work there.
I use to do a similar commute. i miss the unofficial race, Cnr Blue St and Pac Hwy to the NS Police station. regardless how hard of a morning ride you've had. Ego on the line, all out to the top of the hill. hahahaha. great video mate.

Hi there. I tried many solutions, even paid for a pair of prescription sunglasses. In the end I just switched to contact lens. It means I can use whatever sunglasses I want. And when it’s early morning I don’t need the sunnies I can just stow them. All the best

Yes I used GoPro for a few years. This is my honest opinion, the insta360 footage is equal to GoPro. The software and battery life is superior. For those reasons I am happy to use Insta360

If I ride to work I usually leave a little bit earlier at about 4:30pm to avoid the peak hour traffic. As you see in the video unfortunately there are still bad drivers around who are inconsiderate of commuters. Thanks for enjoying my content, I hope you can watch my other videos and enjoy them too

How do you deal with the winter? I am from Melbourne and this is my first winter cycling (started november last year), was doing 600km months in summer but once winter has come I am doing 350-400km months.

Currently I’m using an old backpack I’ve had for many years. Jansport Hatchet. Some people have recommended other brands to me, I think I might upgrade

There's always gonna be a few to ride with at your own pace. 06:30 a cycle path in a garage!? Nice! Never seen such before :) 06:32 a perfect way of keeping your bicycle safe at work. Not only it's in a closed compartment but can also secure it with additional bike chain lock. One thing I would also hate, is to leave my bicycle under an open sky, and rain, even a cheap bicycle :) Good video!

I ride in on Wednesday and Thursday. I shower but don't wash my hair because the current office doesnt have a hair dryer. My old office had the full shabang, towel service, hair dryer and ironing boards. I miss that life hahaha

canyon rider yeeep if I moved back to sydney would get a gravel bike those freeways don't look fun :) like said in past posts out in rural victoria have AU riders that rock up to a group rapid ride on a MTB bike being in construction and design and planning I will voice the need of more paths sydney water has a whole aqueduct system to campbeltown need to look at a pathway system and better solutions I would rather be on a path near a railway than 1m from traffic we need to identify where and how to link up suburbs we are seeing new airport I hope we have cycle system and links river and creek side nature strips and state rail land paths can double up as emergency vehicle access kmon sydney we are seeing in eurobike the tech around the new DJI motors and few others - we need a path system that will handle EBIKES
Agree on your points. Cycling infrastructure has been a bit of an afterthought in Sydney. And the problem with retrofitting something is that it is 1. Very expensive 2. Never fit for purpose

I carry in my clothes daily, office shirt, pants and boots.
It’s a bit heavy but my commute is short so not too bad.

Most days I carry everything in, including my lunch. It barely fits!
Don't know how you ride with a backpack. I used lug that around until I discovered panniers and have not gone back.

Maybe in winter you can get away with it, but in summer I'll defs be showering. Luckily most modern end of trip facilities have showers etc

Do you ride to work every day? And did you shower at the office after the morning ride?
I ride in on Wednesday and Thursday. I shower but don't wash my hair because the current office doesnt have a hair dryer. My old office had the full shabang, towel service, hair dryer and ironing boards. I miss that life hahaha

1. Very expensive
