@ Finn MacCool. Go for it! Will be good for your recovery back to rational thinking. I mean, it's an interview with a star trek actor and there wasn't any science discussion, but it certainly isn't political content. The less you spend time on that stuff, the better off you'll be. There's a whole other world out there that you're about to discover.

To think all our achievements can be wiped out by an errant rock hurtling through intergalactic space to pulevrise our entire domain is just absurd. a) Great work!
    b) We need you to do a video (or a whole series of videos) about CRISPR-Cas9 (and title it as such), detailing the possible near-future scenarios we could be facing.
We could make dinosaurs. We could cure every disease, blindness, deafness. We could eliminate entire species.
    We could rewrite humanity.
We could switch ethnicity for the weekend.
We could make clones / imposters.
We could weaponize it. We could end up sterile. We could [edit: grey-goo] ourselves. We could have Khan and a eugenics war.

"Not enough population growth" will never cause extinction by itself, because if the the population drops below the level needed to sustain industrial civilization, there would be civilizational collapse (Dark Ages), thus shifting back to agrarian economy, traditional society and much higher birth levels. But not the extinction, IMHO. By the way, thank you for your videos. Great futurology and thoughts about the universe. Maybe because living conditions for humans today are far superior to what they have been in the past ? Don't forget around 1900 the average life expectancy was still around 35 years. Just go to a museum and look at the conditions how people had to dwell at any time before let's say 1950. Even during the 70s significant parts of the population had to live in conditions in developed nations, which the majority of the population would consider today absolutely unbearable.

Ryugo7 7 the wrong type of people are reproducing and are reproducing at a higher rate than the right type of people. They will want a higher standard of living and that will require a lot of resources. Allowing them to live will doom the planet.
I don’t necessarily agree with this. This is the most common response. Most environmentalists should be honest about their desire for mass human death 💀.
