Two things to say: 1) Remember awhile back when I made a complaint that - as much as I had liked the music from that one game that you liked to use - that you had overused it to the point where I DIDN'T like it anymore? Yeah - PROBLEM SOLVED. Every video now is not just enjoying the designs, the piloting etc. But also the VARIED music tracks! You must have expanded your selection A LOT to be able to do that! Nicely done! 2) This was BLOODY IMPRESSIVE!! Yeah - it's a bit on the ugly side. But so was the F4 Phantom. You can't argue with RESULTS! There are times when something is ugly enough that it wraps back around to "damn that's cool!" This is one of THOSE.
@@vaos3712 well that is true, i would like you to consider the fact that: new = good All memes aside, ksp2 has honestly gotten noticeably better with the latest couple of patches.
VAOS, did you try the mod *Conformal Decals* ? It applies these numbers, text, and it already has a lot of standard industry symbols The difference is that it uses a decal /projection technique over the surfaces, which is common in Unity and all game engines, instead of using a physical object like the flag that interferes with aerodynamics. I consider it one of my personal vital/basic KSP mods now!
I've tried my hand at a few large VTOLs (none of them SSTOs), and it's very impressive that you were able to land one of this size so majestically and precisely. My VTOL kerbin-to-kerbin cargo hauler with a similar capacity would be very difficult to land on an area as small as this as I can with my smaller designs. Great job!
Hey man, just wanna say your content is really cool and your cinematics are magnificent but you should probably turn up the bitrate in your recording or editing software because your videos look like 360p despite being 1080p😅
Hey Vaos, how the hell did you get the robotic parts to lock during flight? 99% of the time when I try to do it it just says "cant lock servo while moving", even in level flight or while landed.
@@vaos3712 Ahh ok, but wouldn't still move the hinges around unless you had certain settings configured to stop the hinges from moving, or do they just come with the ability of "anti-wobblyness" without configuration?
@@vaos3712 hmmm, if thats the case then I may need to do more tests with heavier things to see at what point does the wobblyness become unbearable. The main thing that's annoying is that the game doesnt like to say the "servo" is moving so we cant lock 'em. Things like V-22 Ospreys and most swept-wing'd planes are highly unstable because of this bug(?). Either way, thanks for the clarification on how you got it to work Vaos.
coming back to this after a bit, i've managed to make a 16 passenger VTOL ssto which looks a bit more elegant than having those engines slapped everywhere by using the largest servo bits. i keep them hidden from drag inside 2.5m service bays attached to them, then i've got a 1.25-2.5m C7 adapter and shock cone on the front, then a 2.5m quadcoupler on the back, each engine pod (2 per side) has 2 panthers and 2 rapiers i find panthers work better than whiplashes, as they've got the same static thrust and efficiency while afterburning while being smaller and lighter, and the extra speed of whiplashes isn't really important as by the time the panthers cut out the rapiers are more than enough. cruise mode also lets it fly slow for long times, if needed. i think they also spool up and down faster, which helps a bit with landing
Ya i love building passenger VTOL SSTO. Their very easy to make and build them to look good. 👍 Its the heavy 36 ton or more cargo VTOL SSTO that are tricky. 😬
make sure robotic part has rigid attachment on, only attach one or Two very light weight parts to them. keep it under a ton , keep it compact, nothing heavy or complex. and u will see very little if hardly any wobble.
@@vaos3712 i know about these tips. But sometimes it's now enough for me.... maybe there are any mods or cfg file changes... i tried by my self, but i've found nothing...
I've found wing panels protect solar panels and I think RCS ports from atmospheric heat, too. Earlier today, I launched an SSTO with the side doors on the Mk3 cockpit covered up with flags, and to my surprise the flags got hot. I think I've only used them on wings before. Mostly. It's a good thing the SSTO was kind-of underpowered. It had only 8 RAPIERs and 3 NERVs for a 197t launch mass. Y'know, if you only need all that TWR for takeoff, you could use the 1.2t Panther instead of the 1.8t Whiplash. At 'mach 0', It has similar thrust in dry mode and 50% more in wet mode. Its fuel consumption in wet mode is identical to the Whiplash's normal consumption. I'm starting to think I should use it to get underpowered SSTOs rolling. :)
I think it’s astronomers pack, i have it in the description i believe. I do use Ckan so it is possible it added something else and im just not aware of it.
It could, but it takes more than twice the delta-V to reach Earth orbit than to reach Kerbin orbit. Because _insert the rocket equation here,_ it would need far more than twice as much propellant, by weight.
Unbelievably majestic! That takeoff was terrifying and glorious to behold, and the landing... Just wow.
man, kerbal welders don't get the recognition they deserve, amazing craft!

It's a perfect combination of beauty and beast!! Bonus style points for landing her square on the helipad.
