I am normally a very critical person when I hear epic anthems covered, rarely are they done the justice they deserve. This cannot be said about you Lauren. Hi Lauren you may remember i have used just about every superlative i could think of in regards your singing So to save time they all apply here as well .This one to you seem to have the control under control. I love this song from first time i heard it Air Supply i even brought it I love Rory Dodd's version Bonnie Tyler good version There has also been some not so good attempts at it You Lauren right up there with the best of them and What you do and have with a Steinman song is what Meatloaf has what Bonnie Tyler had You are living the song you are the character in Jims little movie this is what a lot of people miss when covering Jim Steinman material your not just singing a song your acting out a musical movie and you young Lady are right up there with the stars, I'm 99.9% positive had Jim heard you deals would be done, Hopefully someone will hear you soon that can open those kind of doors for yoou maybe BOOOH The musical theatre performers are always changing from the recordings i have heard of the casts versions I would have no problem putting you in any production of that. Any how love this version Get a few musicians together try do some live stuff Do you write any thing yourself out of curiosity, Wish you'd been around when i used to be looking for female vocalists. I'm a songwriter myself or was haven't written anything in a few years though anyhow and not having a great deal of faith in my own voice and some of the stuff i wrote i used to use various available singers as and when, Funny thing though the only hit song i ever had was one with me singing it lol Anyway enough about me Keep on Rocking Lauren

I was an acting / musical theatre major my first 2 years in college, so it’s been awhile, but I’m def not a stranger to that sort of thing. Yes - I’ve got to find myself some local musicians to work with and do some live stuff. That would also just be so FUN! No, I haven’t written any songs. At least not yet. (Never say never lol). How wonderful that you write! What song that you wrote are you the most proud of? Which was your biggest success? I find song writing to be such a fascinating talent to have! I've been listening to Lauren's covers almost all night and two things strike me: 1. This is definitely my favorite of her performances, as is her version of Surf's Up, Original Sin, and the rest of her entire portfolio :) 2. An album of Steinman covers by her -- or maybe even better a collection of original tracks inspired by Steinman and written by David J. Smith (Scaramouche) and others - is an absolute must!!! Naturally, from a practical point of view, that would be an expensive venture. So, I'd be willing to chip in $1,000.00 to get it started. Anyone else?

Hey, Douglas!! It’s so awesome you noticed this. So, I did NOT write that part. This was actually a cover I did based off of the original demo of the song! Steinman had different lyrics in the “I can” series portion of the demo version! I absolutely love it. I will include a link for you to listen to it. The vocals are just tremendous. ua-cam.com/video/JRkFbgEbjWg/v-deo.html You will see how the demo version was a significant source of inspiration in how I chose to sing this song when I recorded this on Smule. The vocalist in the demo is Rory Dodd (he’s one of my favorite male vocalists, truly a phenomenal singer)!

I love this version. It's such a great lyric but I can't stand Air Supply. I trawled through about dozen covers from old pop stars and pop idol wannabees trying to find a decent cover but this beats them all. I like the extra verse about the shirt and making the old wounds heal, I'm surprised that didn't make it into all the original commercial versions. I have to admit I've never heard of the singer before, but this hits the spot. Cheers.

Air supply’s version, while very acceptable is but a mere pop song compared to your impassioned rendition. You immersed in the lyrics, projected the emotion and conveyed the dichotomy of sentiments that only Steinman can weave into a story. Air Supply sang the song, you lived it. This is your best version with a beautiful balance of power and sensitivity. Your voice has a soul of its own and Steinman would be in raptures. Bonnie Tyler should be thankful that he saw her first. Your time will come. Your talent and versatility is too significant to ignore. You are other worldly.
