@@pibblesracing courses are not designed for us and be ready to be used to it. I avoided some courses altogether because I didn't have a FH or a turnover. I still don't have an excellent FH but my turnover has come far enough to where courses don't deter me anymore. Above all else though, have fun and never be ashamed of not being great. Everyone starts somewhere.
I know this is several months later but I really appreciate this so much. I have never competed in a tournament & whenever I go with my family I'm nearly always last. I do try to focus on if I did better than my last round on the same course but its still hard being last every time for the last 8 years. This helps confirm that I just need to be focused on trying my best to make par or as close as I can. It also helps seeing players that are closer to my skill level. I enjoy watching the pros but this stuff is the kind of thing that will help my game personally.
Thank you again for covering the Average Joes that play the game. I see disc golf as a community and just seeing pros, there is a major disconnect for me and I get discouraged because I can only throw 200+ ft. But my sidearm is coming along and it is giving me a little extra excitement to go play.
So, lets talk about what happened on 11. You can see the blue basket behind the yellow, I've ended up there before at a similar elevated putt and had a nasty, disgusting, disrespectful spit out right back in my face. That was already in my head, and with Dylan's spit out I elected to go for an intentional layup, because par puts strokes on folks at Inverness. Still was a little greedy trying to lay it up under the basket and it rolled back. Said to hell with it and revenge putted with reckless abandon. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a textbook Birdogie. When I'm talking to the camera afterwards was me basically a conversation of that paragraph after Robbie thought it was a kinda a half-run/layup non-commit, but I know time constraints on videos and no one wants to see a guy still mad at himself angersplaining his thought process in the moment. Otherwise, had a blast hanging with Robbie and the card. Sucks it fell apart for a few of us, but if you can't win it, at least try and learn something from it. Let me know if this was helpful, and I can comment on a few other holes so whoever is reading this can have some insight on maybe what NOT to do 😅
I love these, because the commentary gives me insight into disc selection. I tend to approach holes as putter, mid, driver without considering the baits and traps of holes.
I loved being able to watch these guys play the tournament. This is so real and awesome to see! Thanks to the guys for letting Robbie get video of the round.
This comment is weird. If you watch the NBA or NFL does it set unrealistic expectations for your local pickup games? Jomez is showcasing the top talent of our hobby/sport. I go out and play my own rounds totally divorced from the idea that I'll be as good as those guys ever.
After visiting my home state/city and playing this course multiple times this past year...watching this video I am so freaking jealous....and true to my word, returning to Vegas I have not ONCE complained about being "off the fairways" here or being "in the rough"....I can't WAIT to go back there...
Thank you Robbie for giving your humble expertise on this round, and for the players for being vulnerable enough to share their tournament play with us. Keep up this kind of content that I can relate with and learn from👍🏻🥏
Being able to stay focused is tough, I played the Lake Marshall Open the past weekend and most of the rounds were close to 4 hours start to finish! Hard with bad weather and a 3 day event! Glad these guys were okay being on the channel, it is relatable and when I see others make the mistakes I make it reminds me why I should try to fix them lol
Enjoyed the video and the concept. Thank you and the Fellas agreed to be filmed. Looking forward to seeing the episode that you mention where you feel a practice round with the same folks and then get to see them play in the tournament.
This is the type of video series that inspires me to actually play in a tournament for the first time. My skill level is about the same as these guys The guys are good sports. Not judging them, because I am of them based on their skill level.
Oddly enough, watching Paul McBeth crush a 600ft drive doesn't impact my game nearly as much as discussing high impact decisions for C1 putts. Great series, man... Keep 'em coming.
Robbie, I’m very new to the sport and doing my first tournament in April. This series and all the tournament prep videos have been an invaluable resource. Thank you so much. Will be purchasing some Robbie C stamped discs as a thank you. You rule dude, keep it up and good luck in your 2024 season
Love seeing this type of coverage. I'm new and want to enter a tournament next season and if they don't offer ma4, really helps to know what to expect out of ma3. Rarely get to see this coverage. Thank you so much.
love this series . I have been Honing my Beginner tourney reps by doing monthlys and always playing fortags with friends . It would be cool to see what it would be like with robbie on the bag with Ams .
Tournament play is definitely a much slower play of a round. Big shock for me in my first one. Being a mostly solo player before that. Now I barely play solo due to the great community of disc golfers I have met playing tournaments.
A little confused. You said you were filming the B8 for the 2nd Episode, but the description says Episode 1 of "On the Ground". Went looking for the 1st Episode, but didn't find it. I might have missed it, but did you include what the player's rating are? I think the reasoning behind this series is for people to see players at their level (that they can identify with) handle situations "we" will be in (along with the instructive Robbie C. commentary). It would be nice to know what level they are.
Someone told me at my last tournament that once you start using a mini marker you must use it rest of the round and can no longer use your thrown disc as a marker is that true?
I have not heard of that rule before! Looking at 802.06 it looks like it is not true. The thrown disc may continued to be the piece that marks the lie.
Happy to be a part of this, Robbie. Even if it was a low point for me, I hope someone gets something out of this experience!
Glad to see another lefty. Any tips for a newbie southpaw?

This tournament content was incredible. Way more relatable for me than watching the pros. Appreciate the 4 that played.

Absolutely love watch “normal” players
I loved being able to watch these guys play the tournament. This is so real and awesome to see! Thanks to the guys for letting Robbie get video of the round.
This was very help to watch. Watching Jomez coverage just sets unrealistic expectations

Absolutely LOVE this concept. Practical lessons learned by us from us !
Great series! Thanks to all the guys for letting us tag along!

Loving this series. Thanks Robbie.
Loving this series, thanks all for sharing! 🤟
Love the series, keep it coming!
This perfectly encapsulates, "Making your game better, one stroke at a time". Thank you all for this content!!!
I hope you have positivity in your life like you bring to us the viewers

robbie, this was great, when are you applying to be the commentator to Jomez, Everyone wants to see Jern + Robbie
This is great! Give us more please!
This is a great series. Please keep it going!
This was so good! Thank you!

That Abandoned throw rule is big to know!

I am an on the ground fan.
Justin really needs to give up that Matty O putting style. I feel he could have made lots more putts with a solid regular putting style.
Is this AM1 AM2 or AM3
Am3!

Dam I feel like I can play tournaments now.
