I would love to see you make a video on generating power from every different situation. Like when the ball is coming to you, going away from you, hook shots, passing from rolling balls, power from slow balls, etc. I don’t think I’ve seen a video explaining all the ways to get power from every position
Grinding on almost as many playlists you can (where the shot starts at 1 second and shot fails when ball drops) is the best way to learn that. Doing things on your own will not only make your car and ball control much better but it will also help you NOT SKIP learning the basics. A tutorial cannot teach you about all situations cuz it's almost infinite. Generating power requires nose/edge touch with a flip (or sometimes without) which can be only mastered once you master how your car works. So yes, the best method is to grind the playlist and build yourself from 0 to hundred. If a youtube tutorial tells things that makes you start from 35 to 100 it can help save time but you will never understand the 0 to 35 part (car mechanics and control for ANY situation).
You have the best rl tips tutorials and concept videos on rocket league. Been playing since the beginning and just finally decided to up my game. In a couple weeks ive noticed a huge improvement.
These are all extremely obvious, but maybe not to everyone. I do like that you included the 10% for number 2, because there are definitely circumstances where you can outplay but not shooting with the hood. So that was a good tip. Number 3 a lot of duos and trios teammates need to understand better... so many times I go to control a ball or do a soft chip to myself and partner comes racing in for the steal lol
thats why i hate playing 3's, most of the times people just bang the ball and give the ball to the other team, 2's is less of it when you get to higher ranks.
I'm Italian and I see a lot of your videos, even if I don't understand everything they help me a lot and, for me, you are the best youtuber that helps many players to rank up I respect you greetings from Italy e se non credete che sono italiano siete delle brutte persone (if you want to translate it)
The problem with the 3td is, that the enemies are challenging after i pop it even if they are turning to their own goal, and if i get to an airdribble, they save like everything
One big issue is in ranks even up to diamond people don’t seem to really rotate or work as a cohesive team. The opponents will literally go for every ball as quickly as they can even if their only play is knocking the ball away from you straight to one of your teammates. When you get to higher ranks people chill out a little and use actual intelligent plays to counter an attack, giving the person with the ball a little more room to work with usually.
@@3g0_rlNot true in the least, and if you really think so then it only further proves his point that you dont know how or even when to control your ball.
I agree with the touch to get it a little bit further before shooting because for me, its really difficult to hit a air dribble half field compared to a full field air dribble because you can also use it to fake out opponents. However it doesn't apply to ball chasers because in my rank at least, people would just chase after the ball and get good ball positioning which leads to a point for them
Super casual guy but these all make absolute sense...I am too old school didn't even know about the air roll shot gonna start practicing it more but makes sense with the front of the car.
Honestly I think these are what’s keeping me from progressing through Plat. That and more but taking a year break from the game regressed me to silver and I hate it
I just want everyone to know that spookyluke really helped me get better like the bad habit ones and the mistakes and I think he had one we’re to change the boost and drifting buttons and know I’m not stuck in silver I’m in plat
The reason i atleast dont use the nose to shoot with is because you get there a little early on the jump, or the ball is just not angled to roll into it or its too high in the air for you to use more boost to not early speedjump, i dont think anyone does it because its smart or the best option, it might be the only option and at times a bigger surface to ensure a shot atleast, bad shots does go in in many ranks. I dont think people hit the ball weak or wrong on purpose. Its fine to mention shooting early is usualy a bad idea unless youre low/out of boost, or you just wanna buy some time for the team to get boost, its sometimes fine to throw the ball away to buy time for the team to get boost. Nothing in Rocket league is "that simple" which is why we love the game
id hate to sound high maintenance but it would be cool if you included the training pack codes in the description, i know its in the vid already but the option to copy paste would be nice 🙂 great video!
I'm so bad at this game I can only really do ground shots. It's a very difficult game to learn. I feel like I can't control my shots when going for ariels
Practice aerial control in training before you hop on games. Try flying forwards sideways, and backwards as that will give you complete control of your car. There is training packs out there for aerial shots. Make sure to try hitting those as well. If it gets too easy, start freestyling a little bit or just make the shots harder by spinning your car whether its freestyling or backwards etc. You will learn aerialing in no time.
We know we want to hit it with the front of our car but when you don’t have thousands of hours in gameplay you just want to hit the ball at goal in some difficult situations.
Just like real soccer/football you kick the ball with you toe (not a bowling ball and don’t kick with bare toe),you kick the ball with your toe and the shot goes really fast, but don’t do it very hard because you can break you toe!
I don't even air roll when I shot , just change the cars direction 'manually' and I would say my shots are pretty good , maybe they would not be viable in gc and above but I don't have dream of becoming that good anyways lmao
This is part of the whole "Don't be a lefty." So focus on the circular direction of your actions not just on the field. Gotcha and thanks. Like=Comment=Subscribe.
to rankup you need good teammates, my sanity with random teammates are fragile, literally cant win with them, lost 100+ mmr because of them carried them all these matches and still losing, so coaching or not first lesson is have to be find a good teammate
this guy never talks about any of the players he actually gets to GC with this programme. Its always about how many players are on the course, but nothing about who finishes it!
Aye Luke you may or may not see this but I really wish you could maybe one day find the time for a 1v1 guide I learn so much from your content and I really need my ones gameplay better if you could help me out with that😅keep up the great work you do I check your stuff daily to learn💯
I have recently come over from apex legends, as I need a fresh challenge and I've got a button layout sorted and I'm starting to learn proper car control, and it's unbelievable how easy people make it look, I haven't even started to try air roll left yet, just trying to master the neutral air roll and going up for shits whilst rotating is so hard! I can control the car in the air after about 4 hours of practice, its just trying to read the ball and positioning the car to make a decent shot that's troubling me, would I be better just trying to master air roll left instead of neutral air roll?
I like using air roll and air roll right. Left and right is just probably just preference but air roll is a must imo. For aerial control you want to work on both air roll and air roll right or left. Practice by spinning and using both buttons in your freestyles. Try controlling the aerials backwards, sideways and forward as that will give you complete control of the car when mastered. This part isnt freestyling but trying to get the basics down which is the most important. Just fly around and just freestyle as well so you can see what you can do with the car.
i hit gc finally season 7 lmao, been playing rocket league since maybe season 2, and i mean the first season 2 lmao, but back then i was still addicted to wow lmao, then i would get serious for awhile and rank up, been stuck in the champ ranks since season 12, but then i learned not to be an idiot and just clear the ball, now i mind game more and control the ball when i should, but you think i could be higher with 5k hours, but then again its not how many hours its what you put in those hours
Congrats, i play since The S1 when plat was the highest rank and last season i got GC rewards for the 1st time, One of the most Satisfying thing i felt on my entire "gaming career" , idk exatcly how many hour bc i was os Ps4 --> Pc probably around 3k or something, Lmao.
Yes and no there are sum situations where shooting with a different portion of your that you do not normally shoot from can make your opponent question the shot type and speed. My biggest advice to anyone is to get the basics down and then learning to shoot with "precision" on different parts of your car.
Dribble is when you’re enemy is usually shadow defending you, it’ll throw them off since you’ll change direction oftenly With hook shots, it’s more on how much space you have, so if you’re opponent seems very passive and you have a bit of distance between them, a hook shot will be very good. However in most cases, I would try to combine Dribbling with hook shots, or Dribbling and then flicking.
When there is an opponent ready to save your hookshot. When you play 2v2 and one guy circles back, he propably will save your hookshot. If you have enough space and time, you want to control the ball then and do a dribble flick. Dribbles are harder to predict.

Thanks for the lesson, Luke. I would never rank up if it weren't for your tutorial videos.
