I for one quite enjoy the battles even with reduced fps. I also think the fleet size should be their first step in limiting battle size, say a max of 50 per fleet with at 100 total ship max in battle. Besides, real battles basically never exceeded 100 anyway, with some three exceptions out of thousands.
What they should do for a battle this size is introduce reinforcements at certain increments. An initial engagement fleet, and supporting task groups arriving in so many minutes
Either that or a concept from Stellaris - command limit. Each class of ship has a certain cost, and your fleets cannot exceed that cost. So you can plop, say, 10 battleships in a fleet and nothing else, or 30 DDs and nothing else, or any mix thereof. Then tie it to the tech tree as something you can unlock as time goes by. Early eras, smaller fleets. Later eras, larger fleets but not excessively so. With the fleets broken up you still slug it out, but now you're taking that 200v200 battle and making it 4 50v50s. In modern navel history there have only been, what, 3 battles where the total number of ships was close to, or exceeded, the number of ships fielded by the British in this video. And those battles were waged across a surface area hundreds to thousands of times larger than what is modeled here.

I have a suggestion for the dev's on limiting ships in battles (i had one with 730ish enemy vessels earlier, at only a handful of fps (it was also roughly 80% of the enemy's total ships)) , write it off as how many ships were able to actually gather/muster for the battle before the engagement began. You could base it on the maneuver warfare tech and/or the radio technology (as well as what radios you've equipped on your ship to make them more valuable). The more ships you have the more likely some are to miss the battle as they can't properly coordinate (considering the range circles that are supposed to represent where a fleet is projecting power it could be the fleet is spread out with elements scouting or working in smaller groups). It would make it as if elements of both fleets were clashing as they found one another. This would also leave room for ships to potentially arrive late to the battle as reinforcements. Anyway , the higher the tech the more ships should be able to reliably arrive in good order, but there should still be a ceiling even with max tech. (thinking something of a logarithmic curve)
The Admiral Logs again. They are absolutely amazing keep up the great writing! Also there is a game called Buccaneers! that is really interesting. But its a fun game with trading and crew mechanics and is a really interesting game to play. Please check it out it fits the content here pretty well.
Oh yes, glory to the slideshow presentation of the battle. I agree there has to be a set limit for how many ships can be in a battle at once. Also I'd like to see an option at campaign start to adjust the overall economy (something similar to Rule the Waves has). I just prefer smaller fleets to play with.
Technically even scarier when you convert the 8 inches to mm. It's not 140 or 152 mm secondaries. It's 203 mm. Straight up primary gun size of WOWS high tier cruisers. (Assuming you mean World of Warships)
Don't belittle yourself. When you're outnumbered an astonishing 47-to-1 and the game offers to allow you to "end battle" early, and you decline the chance... and then you go on to sink three of those enemy ships without losing any of your own? Yeah, that's when they start speaking your name in the same tones that are usually reserved for Nelson, Yi Sun-Sin, or Nimitz.
As a thought for a future campaign: luxury liners the navy. All and only cruisers (cruise ships) with maximum crew quarters. Bonus points for long cruises, though of course there must be something for those only looking for a week long getaway.
I would like to give the Wurttenbergs some credit; in the case of historical Kaiserliche Marina, the High Seas Fleet was critically low on oil, so the older coal fired ships were very much useful for coastal defense, even after 1918. However, The Admiral’s nation has no such weakness. Curious to see if they will actually add the Americans; And I’m happy you hinted at them from my comment earlier. Lastly, I wish i could have but more then one Subscribe button for my Country (favorite UAD/From The Depths) tuber
Yo Stealth, just a little suggestion. While the idea of the "biggest guns" sounds great in the breach. What I have noticed is that the trade off of damage vs. reload leaves you ultra vulnerable to defeat. So, try this on for size. In keeping with the SPIRIT of your doctrine, instead of going a full 20% increase in the size of your guns, go for a 1/2 increase (10%). This will not only increase the effectiveness of your guns at range, it will also keep the reload times to a manageable period. It might also give you the ability to "burn down" large fleets of enemies with fire damage, instead of waiting for AP damage to kill ships (which personally speaking seems to take forever) as HE is much more effective when it has the ability to stack upon itself. This new doctrine might also come in handy with an increase on barrel diameter (8" vs.8.45"). This adds more punch while only increasing reload marginally. Just something to think about. Keep up the good work and keeping Davy Jones'garden full of enemy trash!
I guess the only change I'd like to see is going fully aggressive with the gunnery. Like go in, expend all shells as fast as possible, and try to retreat.
I guess you could've get away with one less funnel since you reducecd the top speed of the Siegfried. It might save you a fair mount of tonnage for guns and armour.
Oh god, pretty soon the British are going to be able to field so many ships they'll be able to build a bridge from Dover to Calais. Who need transports when you have a 100 meter wide highway across the channel?
Stealth: You want to simulate how many ships? Royal Navy: Yes! TBH I don't like those huge battles much myself, not just because of framerate. But that definitely was a target-rich environment!
Series Idea: Compact Ships (naming is bad), Pretty much you have to be confined to treaty size of ships so you can’t make super battleships that just can’t die to add challenge.
If you don't mind my thinking, why don't you build a backbone fleet like CA, CL, DD, and BC that are cheap but effective and just copy and past until you have 100 ships, so that would just be like 40 more ships
That group of Brits you highlighted was actually onlya 7th of their fleet. 21 ships. Not sure why the game doesn't automatically break up fleets above a certain threshold. Even a human couldn't manage a 141-ship task force effectively.
In 1942, Donitz came closer to eliminating the UK than anyone else. In that year, the German Navy sank over 1000 ships, sending over 5 million tons of cargo to the bottom. In one convoy, 430 brand new tanks went under. The UK had to make more cargo than the Germans could sink, and hope some got through. I feel like people don't talk about Admiral Donitz enough. Hitler made Donitz "Fuhrer" in the event of his death, that's an indicator of his esteem.
diesel engines arent worth it on battleships. the HP/t is just way too small. you should always stick with geared turbines until you can get Gas Turbines, those have the same trade offs as diesels but are just 3 times as efficient.
And that is the reason why you need a lot more torpedos .🤣 You cant miss with that at this point! And even if the game is stuttering please send this entire fleet to David Jones locker!

We may see sooner rather than later the infamous "Warship-number" names popping up as the game is not reclycling the names of sunken and/or scrapped ships.
Or they limit the size of the battles on the campaign or they improve a lot IA performance. Seems to be a CPU issue (just guessing) but I do not blame them, making the IA multi-threaded may be the way to go but is not an easy task and may introduce other issues.
You deliberately avoiding the adjacency accuracy bug? That large fleet battle was ripe with easy targets. Instead of aiming at the guys in front, the crowded guys in the back would have been sunk 3x over.
Question in regards to secondaries. If you have enemies on both sides of you, do the secondaries engage targets on both sides? Or does it just do one target for each gun type?
23:10 the thing is, that even a top end CPU wouldn't do the game any good. This Game runs in a single thread only. Meaning my 6 core - 12 thread i7 8700k is utilized with 12.5% at max. Good luck simulating big battles like that. The devs should either work on multi-threading (look into the Unity Job System) or limiting the amount of ships.
I do agree with the extremely large battles, the game should have some sort of limit on how many can be in one engagement. I'm just not sure how the devs would change that. For example, do they make it so AI fleets can't be in the same encounter range as another fleet? If they do that, then you would probably have more of those lone destroyer encounters, which also isn't the most fun thing to play/watch. Do they limit the size of AI fleets? Well then there's nothing stopping fleets from joining up and making a massive blob again. I'm not saying there's no solution, im just not sure what the solution could be without creating another issue
Okay, so now that you are moving away from the biggest guns on every ship, I assume you will research the 20" to mk.2 at least before using them. I'm just wondering what you will be able to build with that 150000t BB if you go for the biggest dual barrel guns. Death Star Bismarck anyone? 38:26 I see the Brits are taking the Russian approach to war. Overwhelm the enemy with sheer numbers of what should be cheap units, but are actually overly expensive and completely ineffective.

23:00 Yeah, not many can afford over a thousand quid for just the graphics card not to mention a power supply to feed such watt-hog beasts, and have enough left for the rest of the stuff needed to make a functioning PC, lol. P.S. For anyone reading this in the future and not in the know, there was a major crypto mining scalping of graphics cards back when the RTX20 and RTX30 cards came out, and prices as of typing this have yet to return to remotely affordable levels for us mere peasants that can't write off GPUs as a business expense. I'm still using a GTX1070(non-Ti) as I simply refuse to pay more than I get a month before bills or multiple times what the rest of a PC costs to build for a single component, lol.
The game should limit the battle with the number it can handle properly. I think the issue with big battle like this is it becomes unwatchable due to extreme stutters. I also find it weird, what kind of captain not launching torp into the middle of formation, and instead of calculate single ship trajectory, causing it to miss entirely ....
“Relations with the British have now deteriorated to the point where war is unavoidable” Was this not because you’ve practically been sticking your middle finger up at them for the last few months?

Already have something else planned for the next campaign
@@Stealth17Gaming ahh thats right you were thinking of a campaign with shotguns how about maybe using my idea for the one after?
@@stevelenox152 A firestarter with smaller ships
@@Stealth17Gaming ahh my bad well I look forward to seeing who you wipe out your opponents
@@Stealth17Gaming hey I was thinking do you think that you could rebuild the super battleship from your intro in this campaign as I am curious on how it would perform
What system specs are you running? I'm looking to build a pc and I play alot of games with mass units being generated, curious how beefy my system should be.
Listed in the description
They onlie send 140 somting Ships becose they whantet to kill the last Thuringa becos of it's legendary status.
Sorry for the bad English.
How could you step away from the biggest guns doctrine? That's the whole point of the campaign!
If you don't adapt to the enemy then there's no point.
One less more to follow. Ahoj (Hello in Czech)
Dose the game actually used all 12 cores because if it only uses like 4 cores u might have done slightly better with a higher speed cores
I'm still using a GTX1070(non-Ti) as I simply refuse to pay more than I get a month before bills or multiple times what the rest of a PC costs to build for a single component, lol.
so the MEME design bureaus is still making ship that why it so unconventional

Anything you don't understand is usually art
volume?
The game should limit the battle with the number it can handle properly. I think the issue with big battle like this is it becomes unwatchable due to extreme stutters. I also find it weird, what kind of captain not launching torp into the middle of formation, and instead of calculate single ship trajectory, causing it to miss entirely ....
Interstingly enough Custom Battle only allows max 100 ships.
“Relations with the British have now deteriorated to the point where war is unavoidable”
Was this not because you’ve practically been sticking your middle finger up at them for the last few months?
Perhaps
@@Stealth17Gaming I love these videos dude, keep it up! :3
