@@Slash11512WHAT THE FUCK
The whole "pistol is better than carbine" argument is basically just "officer is better than infantry so pistol is better" which, I mean... I guess the officer is better than infantry, but the pistol isn't necessarily better. It just gets the job done.
The point people making out of this argument is cleary that people who play as line infranty with carbine is better off playing officer. Both of these guns are pretty similar interm of stats and use, so why even bother debating about them.
The argument is, "If you're removing the bayonet, and (effectively) using the pistol; why not just go officer?"
Which doesn't really make sense since The Carbine has more penetration compared to the pistol. If you're an officer you spend most of your time meleeing and going into crowds head first to gain a charge and only using pistol for bombers. The Carbine literally does more damage and acts almost like a shotgun when shooting at zombies up close.
@@ronblox6502 here the thing with carbine, it rarely come into uses. Carbine most of the time wouldn't done much better at all compare to other gun,, you would need to position yourself to make use of carbine superior penetration and the 10+ damage wouldn't come into matter at all. Your main objective is to pick off bomber which is easily cover up by other teammate that also shoot and if only like 2 people were shooting in your team then shit wouldn't even matter, bomber would still get through your defences.
@zaipollizamabdulmalek5822 not really? I pick off bombers but that doesn't stop me from using it on shamblers. The reload speed makes up for me using it on shamblers, too. The only time you're really forced to only shoot bombers is on kaub?
carbine is basically sawn-off musket except it's not buckshot roulette
Carbine + Hand Axe is basically officer but with a better gun and melee weapon but no charge
If you have no clue how to use the bayonet propely youre probably better off just picking the carbine.
i call that the Skirmisher Sub-Class
Now that the carbine has the shove ability it’s gained some more use and power, why use you’re hand axe or Sabre when you can just press a key and shove away the shamblers that are getting too close? It’s kinda more reliable in my personal opinion cause then you don’t have to wait a bit and risk getting hit to use you’re melee
If you want a less accurate, less damage gun with no bayonet, just go officer. At least you have a better sabre for that trade-off.
The carbine penetrates harder
Be somehow aiming better when using pistol : huh? 🗿
@@Turtleboilol is 1 that much of a difference

* it takes almost 3 seconds to pull out carbine and shove, any teammates you try to save with it are already dead
* you have to be close to zombies, with a gun in your hands. you shouldn’t be doing this anyway
* carbine still turns you info “officer without charge” since even the double pistol is more than accurate enough
Now feel like the carbine is really good since you can sync it up with the heavy saber to make up for the lack of bayonet + the carbine shove
Not sure if it’s because this video is still young, but with this editing skill and amazing art for each thumbnail deserves wayyy more attention
I prefer musket because swapping between gun - musket - sabre feels absolutely blunderbussing
A way that carbine could be seen as maybe a potential choice to pick, is to make it to where the pistol can't penetrate the bomber's barrels as well (or in other words, give bombers resilience to the pistol) that way people may consider carbine. The only reason why this could be a logical choice is because the pistol's barrel is shorter and thus less muzzle velocity or something I don't know.
Gigantic nerf to the pistol. Idk if the community would like it.
I think the problem is that the carbine is a marginally better pistol. Not that the pistol is a marginally worse carbine.
Cough* The pistol doesn't need a nerf, the carbine needs a buff.
Maybe a guareenteed kill for anything with musket and carbine does current musket damage?
@@DarpMasta_JDKg1375 do you mean, really high damage or /kill?
And besides I don't think damage is the problem. 95 dmg one shots shamblers, bombers, runners, and igniters. 120 headshot can kill a zapper.
Personally my idea would be to give it an ability; kinda like the axe and how it can brace/shove.
I have a couple ideas:
Shove. Just port it over to the carbine. Make it slower if you want. Idk
An ability. "Focus". Stackable reload buff that lasts 12 seconds. (2 shots worth)
Sacrifice some accuracy of the musket and the lethality of a bayonet for a quicker more supportive rifle.
@@ManicObsevationsit did get it 🤗
With the heavy sabre in the game, the carbine now has somewhat bayonet privileges.
I use Carbine + Heavy Sabre, great stuff.
Tbh carbine fits my playstyle alot since most of the time I am the sniper of the team just stay behind and snipe
Uh... I use the blunderbuss, because, uh, blunderbuss go boom.
It will probably fit your needs, and then some.
@@ManicObsevationshe's the sniper so I bet he appreciate the faster reload speed a lot compared to blunderbuss reload speed
@@dr.doctor4878 fair, but like, blunderbuss. Bomber or not, that horde is getting vaporized.
@@ManicObsevations low penetration is still painful. I have moments in Catacombs where the pellets didn't reach the bombers. *Bruh*
@@dr.doctor4878 first, cannon
Second, slight elevation goes a long way.
NOTHING will stop me from using the carbine as KGL and pretending to be a rifleman
On another note I think they should make a rifleman/light infantry class, slow reload, no bayonet but with a slight movement and swing buff and more accuracy
the issue with rifles in gnb is that musket has perfect accuracy and there’s no need for good accuracy atm
I feel the best stat to make a rifle usable is some ungodly penetration like on par with roundshot but to still give it the bayonet now thats along with a long reaload i feel that might work but dosent matter they put that bitch in FAQs😔
@@adyensp bro transcended t reality
@@adyenspExactly. I'd love this class idea if it weren't for the fact that it isn't even necessary.
Maybe we can try a more melee oriented class?
Idea, the carbine is lighter, and smaller, so uh, press f to bash?
It would be simillar, albeit slower then the axe, or you can make it the same.
Basically L4D shove mechanic
Pretty much.
Idk how to actually balance this other then a harsh cap on hits per swing. And maybe slowdown
What about giving the carbine another melee ability like the musket that acts similarly to the axe shove, pressing F (no prepare, you shove as soon as you hit the f key) it'll have the holder flip the carbine and use it to stun zombies using the butt of the gun and have it deal the same damage as the sabre but the animation speed is the same as the axe swing
@@Beltboy so a shove that does damage.
So like, holder shoves the zom l4d style, the zom(s) is pushed 🔙 prob 3 studs and stunted, runner would probably fall flat and swiftly get up, same animation as player hit by barrel. If they hit the wall, or their heads bashed, deals a minimal damage, maybe as much as priest's stake's 25 dmg. But this is situational.
Give it a cooldown of 3 secs and it is balanced. Basically axe shove included pushback, no chargeup but 3 secs cooldown so noone abuses it. Also imagine how cinematic it is, shove zoms, they stumbles, aim and shoot. Thanks for reading.
i like the carbine cause it has similar penetration to the musket,
atleast the last time i used it...
which was shortly after the reload buff...
edit: i used it again, still works
I think the carbine is one of the best weapons, even musket/blunderbuss level. I personally use it most of the time, and it's really good to snipe off bombers just like you mentioned in endless, san sebastian, kaub etc. While the penetration/accuracy difference between the musket and the carbine are mostly unnoticeable, that cannot be said for the pistol.
I also agree with the fact that the hand axe is overrated. It has such a low range and swing rate that cannot make up for its damage and generally more unreliable than the sabre.
I am not biased at all, but I love the carbine with all my heart
Carbine is actually extremely good if you have heavy sabre. Because the heavy sabre has the bayonet mechanics and you also have a fast reloading good all around type of gun. You can also shove using the Carbine, which is like the axe for sapper, adding to opness. It also is faster when you shove, but you can't hold the shove. You can move when the process is being done though! Just test it out in your own private server if you don't trust me
Bro predicted the future at the end.
I know this might not make sense but maybe they should increase the reload rate and accuracy of the carbine. Embracing the role of picking off bomber and ignaters.
Well glad that I came back after the update since they added the shove feature in the newest update
I love all the undertale music in the backround
Ik this is outdated but i prefer a carbine over a musket i mean not only the reload speed is a good thing for me but the shove ability makes it a cherry on top because you can stun a few zombies for a few seconds and this can help support sapper's building incase a stack of zombies punch into one build but with the help of carbine's shove or axe's shove from the sapper it can stun zombies preventing them to keep breaking the builds while also give sappers time to repair the builds
And also heavy sabre is basically like a bayonet since you can become a pvz lawnmower during officer's charge ability
BRO PREDICTED IT NO WAY 4:40
NOW THE CARBINE CAN SHOVE!!! RAAAAGH!!! CARBINE JUSTICE!!!
W.
The update made it better, Shove and 6.7 reload speed.
The carbine's the line-infantries pistol! reason why I use it is so that I can pair it with the hand axe, which the officer does not have!

using the carbine is like playing a mix of officer and sapper, but with the good parts of neither of those
carbine shove is faster for me and plus it deal 10 damage now 10 damage doesnt sound alot but it can help to chip down the zombie health
@@engineergaming8272
'carbine shove is faster'
yeah, but if you see a teammate getting grabbed and you have your sabre out (as you should), you have to go through the equipping animation of the carbine, which slows down the shove by a LOT.
The carbine shove can't stun Zappers, and it has a lower hitcount.
Not to mention, using the shove as an offensive tool to 'whittle down health', is illogical because you can do three times more damage by using the sabre.
Oh, and if you didn't know, hitting a zombie with a sabre makes that zombie unable to grab you for a bit. So basically, the sabre has a built-in shove.
@@engineergaming8272why tf would you chip down a zombies health with a shove???
I don’t like the hand axe either, waste of my francs. I will say I don’t have the carbine yet but I am close enough and really want it. I personally feel the bayonet is great during charges but I never really use it. Mainly because I use sapper but when using soldier I mainly try using my actual melee because side swipe kills more zombies per swing than stabs. But stabs are useful one reason for axe sucking (doesn’t effect me because I know how to kill runners from my time as a sapper main.) I personally like faster reloads because I can kill more zombies and I can penetrate more with big weapon. Kinda the reason why I use The light infantry German Regiment in B&I.
Carbine gives you carbs
Carbine is even better now that it can shove!
Me after the update, buys carbine, ha ha carbine go swing!
Finally, someone said it. YES, when it comes to stats as a standalone weapon, the carbine is a good weapon and better than the pistol. But when it comes to the intended purpose and role of each class, equipping the carbine is essentially like being a line infantryman without a bayonet and an officer without a charge ability. Plus, the pistol doesn't have terrible accuracy anymore. It's more than adequate for bomber popping, and can even snipe them VERY easily (especially in first person)
ur vids remind me so much of uncle dane vids, love it :v
2fore2 is my dad
I have no idea how to use a bayonet so the carbine is better for me
The bayonet is worthless anyways
while the carbine may seem almost outclassed by the officer's pistol and charge, its still looks like an good mobility weapon for the line infrantry, the pike might look better, but if your looking for a weapom with good damage while not being as slow as the musket, pick the carbine like i will (once i got enough francs to buy it)
If you want to use the carbine have this loadout carbine-hand axe-grenades you will basically be the equivalent to a napoleonic assault class
The intro reminds me of sound smiths "A mann's guide to the beggars bazooka"
The carbine...im quite mixed on it.
The officers pistol pretty much allready serves the purpose but ya know the reg musket is much worse.
But even with the officers pistol allready serving the purpose of the carbine, the carbine is just better. The only difference is the class since yknow you will play differently.
Also please for all bayonet users out there get the fuck out of my house-
I only find the bayonet good in charges but not much else. Its awkward to aim in third person even with shift lock and using it when there are more then 3 zombos on you will guarantee you getting munched like a cornflake.
Oh and also...THE SHOVE-
no it isnt🤯

I like carbine mostly cause of the higher speed during reload, it helps me escape from zombies when in closed in areas and it looks cool
Musket + Pistol = Carbine
I feel like if the Carbine had a bayonet, it would be very op because your hardly slowed when reloading this thing and if zombies get close, then you can just immediatly stab them with bayonet if it had one.
But other than that, the thing that sucks about the carbine is the penetration, they need to bump up the penetration of the gun because I feel like, 6 isn't enough. Sometimes when I aim for a bomber, the shot never reaches the bomber because they be covered by multipler zombies.
AS an french line infantry with a Carbine! I can Confirm that 5th regiment of French Hate me! (All joke asides):yeah Carbine do sucks but its does the job done most the time. Shamblers with barrels will be dead-dead. (Pro tip):if you wanna buy Carbine. I'll recommend buying hand axe first.

i would say the carbine is actually kinda cool!!! rahhhhhhh!! also im first comment hehehe ha
Carbine would have been so much better if it was on officer. Wouldnt exactly make sense, But it was a useless downgrade to the Musket as musket, Carbine and Pistol are all basically used for the same thing. If the carbine was on officer, It would be an upgrade/sidegrade, Meaning more range, More damage, and (if they edited it) a slower reload.
Can you show some cool cosmetic combos
and then they added the shove mechanic to it
is saber better than handaxe? i just bought handaxe and i havent played with it a lot but idk if i should keep using it
If you believe in your teammate and can calculate weapon range you're good to go
btw I don't trust my team

in terms of damage yes, but in term of wider range of attack and deal more damage to zapper not really
Yes and no
@@nessie1094 sacrifices everything for damage just like carbine sacrifices everything for reload time
I'd say it's still good, since the officer does more melee dmg to get their charge up, while the carbine picks off those zombies the best overall.
I swear while playing Line-infantry for my next video i'm making...
I like the carbine better then the musket.
On Catacombs I hit more bombers accurately then the musket.
Any of the times i missed was either smoke from other guns blocking my view or the lack of penetration for the carbine.
turn off the smoke.
@@staliniosifvissarionovich5588 Theirs a reason why i stated video. I usually turn them off when i'm not recording.
it helps a certain kind of player like me (loves the quick load, cus we're no brainer-rushers and impatient asf)
i cant withstand the stress watching the bomber get into my 100% hit range when using Officer on Catacombs; and i also fear that the penetration on it wont be enough to go through 1-3 zombies in front of the bomb.
Also, idk why, but sometimes when i shoot a bomber on Kaub last-stand, it just... tanks it (?) and scrolls towards the sacred fortifications, blowing like 3 layers of wood and 2~4 mateys
Look, my argument in defense of the carbine is simple: penetration.
It can both snipe bombers like pistol, and kill several zombies with one bullet like the musket
I almost forgot, even if the pistol can do so as well, as you said, it does so better. The carbine can kill more than the pistol.
It kills exactly ONE more zombie
@@2fore2splace50 and that’s reliably, the pistol isn’t as reliable
i feel like the musket should just be the SUV of the line infantry class, it can do both the pikes and carbines job, but slightly worse. that would entail making the muskets gun part worse than the carbine tho which wouldn't make much sense? maybe they can replace the carbine with something like a rifle, higher damage, higher accuracy, maybe about same reload speed if not a bit faster without the bayonet in the way.
i like the idea but musket has perfect accuracy and we have no need for such good accuracy rn. maybe that’ll change with an lrc oriented map
Good news, ITS GOOD NOW YIPPIIIII

Bro, carbine would be the child if Line Infantry's musket and Officer's pistol had kids.
The father in question: Line Infantry's Musket.
Mother in question: Officer's Pistol.
I BETTER NOT SEE ONE GOD DAMN COMMENT ASKING ME WHAT I MEAN OR HOW OR DON'T YOU EVEN DARE ASK ME HOW OR WHAT I MEAN.
If ur team got bugler and officer. And you also don't want to switch from sabre to bayonet about few seconds, then carbine is good. It's literally just blunderbuss, but you need skills
4:41 yup, they made a shove feature with the carbine like the sappers axe.
What do you recommend me to get first or grind?
I was thinking in getting the Double Barrel "Pistol", and later get grenades and water buckets
3:00 so basically, the carbine is just the pistol but better for the catacombs & vardohus finale
(and I guess you could include the Leipzig finale too)
I think the only way you could buff the Carbine is by nerfing the Pistol. The primary niche of the Carbine is eliminating Bombers and Igniters faster, more accurately, and overall more efficiently than its contemporaries. However, the Pistol fills the same niche, and the main difference maker between the two, that being their accuracy, is almost irrelevant.
Like you mentioned, you can simply just wait for a zombie to get closer to you, but I find that the Pistol’s accuracy is surprisingly good. I’m unironically able to hit Bombers on long maps (aka Catacombs) very consistently, and the spread is a negligible factor. Additionally, since the Pistol reloads faster than the Carbine (without a fifer), it basically just fills the role objectively better than the other.
I like the idea of being able to be flexible as an officer, sniping Bombers/Igniters then charging at the front, but maybe his sniping could be limited to mid range. I think that simply increasing the spread of the Pistol just a bit would make the Carbine be the best choice for its niche, while still retaining the officer’s ability to snipe, but forcing him to wait for more opportune moments when zombies are closer.
I had the same idea for a pistol nerf, but I don’t think you should nerf one gun just so another could be deemed worth using. So I thought of giving the carbine a 40% reload buff from a fife. Since you’re giving up damage and a bayonet for a faster reload, I think you might as well make the reload busted af.
You play Officer if you want to have fun, you play Infantry with Carbine if you don’t want to risk dying to zombies
I have no longer to be a Infantryman. But, I want to be a bravest Officer class.
One of my favorite role as the Officer.
Ngl i would say to buff the carbine is being faster than the pistol and make deal more damage against zappers or have a passive that makes u walk faster by just a little and its max is like 6%-10% bonus walk speed(but doesnt apply to reload walkspeed)
But you said that hand axe is 10/10 weapon 😕
