- When a heated glass is suddenly cooled, it shatters. Why?
When things are not free to expand, they end up developing stress, called thermal stress. In this video, we will explore this concept of thermal stress with the help of a numerical

Hi, Thank you for the video. I have a question here. Should we call this thermal stress or stress due to thermal expansion? because even if we have no walls and just a wire or pipe and then raise the temperature unevenly we have thermal stress inside the wire or pipe and that is something different than this. This stress here indirectly exists because of changes in temperature but actually because of expansion.
actually, stress occurs when there is no way to expand- fixed ends. So, this s thermal stress.
The answer is wrong because you forgot to convert 20mm to metres. Which means strain Is 0.002 and not 2.
The answer is correct he just converted Giga pascal to Mega pascal doing so he converted mm to m. Don't bluntly say its wrong.
@@adityalahkar1043 it was a doubt genius. by the way i got the 5th highest mark in TN. I know marks don't matter and they don't determine one's intellectual capacity but thats how low lives like you understand.
@@Suresh-rl5zr Lmaaoo. Then why mentioning your rank if it doesn't matter. You are just trying to hype up your self. You are clearly trying to get attention.
