    Superb training Cap. You make the very complex seem a lot simpler. Thanks a lot. Cheers - Dom (Essential RC)

    LAU-68D/A is 7-Tube Rocket Launcher with external thermal protection coating used by US Navy and US Marine Corps. LAU-131/A is the same construction but without thermal protection and used by US Air Force.May 22, 2018

    These are far superior to the included training. Thanks alot!

    There is a bigger difference between the launchers than most people say. The LAU-131 supports the newer Hydra 70 rockets, which differ from the usual FFAR rockets mostly by using a different engine and fins, resulting in longer range and higher accuracy. That doesn't actually matter for the unguided rockets here, because the A-10 only gets FFAR, but it matters for the APKWS, which is based on the Hydra 70 and so you can only use it in the LAU-131.

    The LAU-68 is used by the Navy and the LAU-131 is the launcher used by the US Air Force. They have small differences such as weight and length.

    Something I didn't notice mentioned is that as far as I can see, if you select the weapon using the MFCD, it only selects the pylon you chose. However, if you use DMS left/right with HUD SOI, it selects ALL the pylons with the particular weapon profile.

    The Lau 68 vs 131 there doesn't seem to be an appreciable difference. I know the Mk5 is anti Tank, vs the Mk151 is anti personnel.
    Better than the tutorial mission! Tutorial showed you how to do all of this, but never explained why to do any of it. CCIP vs CCRP for instance, ripple fire, minimum range on the GAU. Good video! It's going to be very helpful when I get a little free time next week! Keep em coming!

    I believe from my research the 131 pods are a laser guided conversion of the standard hydra 70 rockets and the 68 pods are standard unguided hydra 70 rockets

    Firstly, thank you for these guides; the best there is.
    Secondly, and sorry for such a noob question - I've searched the manuals and the interwebs to no avail - but how do you display the loadout popup window?

    • @grimreapers
      @grimreapers  5 років тому +1

      on left MDF press the DSMS button on bottom

      @@grimreapers hi, sorry, don't think I was clear enough. I'm referring to the window with picture of the A-10 and where you can select loadouts. I assume its something to do with the ground crew?

      @AndrewMassey-me 5 років тому

      @@grimreapers Found it. You need to be on the ramp and comms with the ground crew. what confused me is that I couldn't see you `\` comms menu - off screen perhaps?

    It's sad the A-10 doesnt get access to the Mk5 HEAT rockets
    If they do it will be pretty op and be an insane tank killer.

    Sorry the second mode didn't make a lot of sense to me. The centre lines have to be plumb vertical? The building struck looked off to the right somehow, I dunno... Probably me. Best, Pete.

    • @slysi5209
      @slysi5209 5 років тому

      In CCRP mode you want to give yourself a bit more time to line everything up nicely, yes your correct you line up the CRRP fall line with your aiming piper vertical line and you also want wings level and velocity vector on the 0 ladder line too. Once this is achieved hold your flight path steady and wait for the release cue (the little circle) to fall through your aiming piper holding weapons release as it passes through, youll also get a number count down in seconds next to the release cue at the top of the CCRP line.
      Cap was little too close to the target when he turned around the 7 on the CCRP fall line means 7 seconds until release point had he flown out a little more before turning in the symbology would have looked a bit nicer and made more sense.
      With rockets if your doing a CCRP delivery your wanting to achieve an area effect at stand off range, if the target threat is high once your stable you can even pull up to meet the release cue for a lofted delivery which is less accurate but gives you even more stand off range.
      Actually just watch again and Cap was into - 7 so was 7 seconds too late which is why he was having the dive down to meet the release cue- To fix needed to fly much further out before turning around.

    If you select the weapon in the DSMS it ignores profile setting and fires in default settings
