Beautiful ride guys! Another 5" of snow this morning, no rides for us. Bummer about the brake but Julie knows an excellent bike mechanic. You'll be up and rolling in no time.
Cheers Ken.... I had some replacement discs on the way but obviously left it too long. It's funny how the parts on Julie's bike don't wear out so fast...😀
Beautiful day, clear sky and sunshine 🌞 it's not always dark and gloomy in England. 👍
Only dull and gloomy when it rains, though that can happen a lot sometimes 🤣 Thanks for watching Thomas
Ha Ha Ha, Why what needs fixing.... love it 🤣 Great ride and thanks for a little escapism... 👍🏻I'm in a mood for cake now.. 👍🏻👍🏻
Always in the mood for cake, thats why I'm slow up hills 🤣 Cheers for watching...
Thank you, Wheelers, for yet another enjoyable ride. It is a wonderful 3C, and breezy here in Boise. We had some sleet/snow flurries last night, and the roads were a bit crunchy this morning. Luckily (I guess), I’m at work today.
I’d did, however, get to see and touch the new Checkpoint yesterday. The shop needed to get seat and handlebar measurements, so I went over on my lunch. Now we’re just waiting on a correctly sized dropper post, as the one I had them order was too long. Hopefully, I can take the completed bike home this weekend. Not that the forecast for the next week shows any kind of descent bike weather. Oh, well. We're are getting very close to riding season now. 😁
It won't be long John, spring is on the way and you'll be out on the Checkpoint...
Fantatsic Sunday group ride. Going in to my rather chilly bike room to get the verniers on the rotors. Cheers for the heads up.
I enjoyed your ride too Julie, wow Mike lot jumps today, but omg your breaks! I better go check mine never seen that happen before 😨 you did make me laugh with your yes answers tho especially the upstairs one 😂. Nice to you out in the dry again too
🤣 A good day for riding bikes for sure. Thanks for watching Michelle 👍
Cracking ride guys, Mike you’re a mere slip of a lad and Julie I’d have definitely done the extra 6 for a Gran Fondo 😂👍
You're right Mark a mere slip of a lad compared to Giant Haystacks 😂 Everything is relative...
Fair Play wheeler’s n crew 👍👍👍😎
Just binged watched cracking rides long ride Julie’s sleeveless ride Mike yes yes yes answers then what ya want fixing rang a very large bell with me but ya not supposed to admit it to your other half 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bostin Wheeler’s 👍👍👍👍🤣
Bostin wheelers 👍👍👍
Well done Mike, Julie and crew very nice ride on a lovely route, Julie managed to get her fill of yee haa's, pity about the brakes could have been worse both brakes on the decents.
Have a wonderful week
Yes Terry, both brakes would've been a bit dicey for sure ... I'm tempted to go for branded ones and see how they last. Cheers Terry👍
I had a ride on a new-ish bike to me last autumn which started making noise from the front break. I eventually realised one of the disc pads had vanished! Made for an interesting ride home as it was an undulating route for the final 12 miles with just a rear brake!
I was pretty lucky as the route home was flat, it did fail on a downhill but the camera wasn't running of course 😀 Scary thought losing a pad...
What a beautiful group ride. Makes me anxious for warmer weather around here. Also, better check my brakes!
It was,! Definitely looking forward to better weather Dan! ❤️👍🚴🏻♀️
Yikes! Front rotor failure is the stuff of nightmares - luckily it didn't fetch you off or anything.
Cracking ride!
Yep, it could have been nasty but no problem, though it did take a moment to work out what had actually happened. Cheers Mick.
Nice upbeat cycling video 😊🚴🏻♀️🚴♂️👍👏👌🏽beats all the doom and gloom on the television news ,
Thanks Peter, you're not wrong, I'm sure most people are happy but 100% not in the news. I tend to zone out now to all the doom and gloom. Take care Peter👍
Nice ride.
With all those bumpy, speedy downhill gravelly tracks, I feel that probably everything gets ridden to destruction...
Yep ridden to destruction on my bike, Julie's bike not so much... I can't imagine why 😂
Not particularly surprised by your remark about the cost of parking. The Bournemouth area certainly has EXPENSIVE parking charges in many places. Definitely a car unfriendly place.
Yeah, last week we drove into town for the first time in a long time, and where to park was probably the most stressful part of it. Even though we were going on somewhere else after we definitely should've ridden in and home again to get the car and continue on ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Suspect you need a bigger disc, though you probably can't fit them on the gravel fork. 180mm on the front for a gent of your stature id say. Either that or use your shoe LOL
You're right, I had 180 on my MTB and they were great 👍 Cheers for commenting
can be lethal disk brake rotor melting i hope you survived .report it get the rotor band
Yeah, could've been nasty but not this time... Cheers for watching Chris👍
@@WheelersAtLarge i did watch and see the mess it was in .manufacturers provide minimum thicknesses for their rotors. Shimano recommends that its rotors, which start out 1.8mm thick, should be replaced when the braking surface has been reduced to 1.5mm
@@chrisnumnuts8671 They must've been well below that as the rear is bang on 1.5mm now. I have another pair as well but hadn't got around to swapping them. Poor maintenance and definitely my own fault. Cheers Chris 👍
@@WheelersAtLarge like you mike I look at the rotors and think they look ok sod it . got a extra set just in case things i.e. short of is brake pads .pluss i dont own measurement callipers to check
