After skimming some of these comments it just leaves me wondering how much we would all grow if we stopped being critical and just took all the good stuff out of things like this and ignore all the other stuff. Myself included! It's true, no mention of scripture, but there is truth in each video of her speaking. She is doing amazing things for God and is changing the world around her...enough said, surely!

The teaching about honoring is so important! too often i hear worshippers, complaining about, that they had too short time to worship! Be faithfull to what you have been given, the time, the space! thankyou Kim! keep going! Bless..

As current worship leaders you are speaking exactly about us. It's all about your heart, how you choose to honor god and serve. Thank for the confirmation of what god has been speaking to us and for the encouragement. We love you and are so blessed by you!!!

This is a late comment but this video really touches me. In the beginning, she talked about how she really felt that she wasn't called to be a worship leader, and man, look at her now. She is someone who's singing and music has led me so close to Jesus. It's just amazing. Praise Jesus!

Now, THIS video was useful. Kim Walker, YOU are truly amazing! Keep up the awesome work! What is useful here? The way she said how she does not promote herself. It is like, God's plan for her is right there in front of her eyes. I mean, like I have wondered what God's plan for me was and maybe it will just happen without me trying anything.

When talking about worship leading she talked about the really good stuff that needs to be mentored in our churches and our lives. Music and chord changes and techniques takes a distant backseat to what she is talking about when it comes to being a worship leader or member of a worship team.
Thanks for posting this - Great Job Kim - Canada Loves you!!

I lead my first song today at my church. I've waited for years for this, and it's finally here. And I am so nervous, haha. I've watched this so much this week, and it has helped to calm my nerves. Kim's words as so encouraging to me, and this is seriously a great video for anyone who does praise and worship. For anyone at all really! Thank you, Lord, that we can all sing for you- that you will be lifted up, not us. :)

Kim's message is so deep it got me thinking about everything. Mostly about worship leading. My sister and I are assistant worship leaders at our church and our worship leader is sometimes on and off about church. And that leaves me and my sister a very hard position. Especially me, because I am iffy about some songs we choose for services. I never back down, I try my hardest because I believe that this a a test from God.Thank you. :)

Much of this is really good. Thanks , Kim! What she says about honor is another way of expressing the quality of humility, which is a slippery deal, because the moment you think you are, there cometh pride. I have been walking with the amazing Jesus for , oh my, 30 years now! Wow! I love, love, love to sing..even as a little one, I would sing praises and spend hours swinging on the swing set trying to sing up into Heaven.
I had a short time on a worship team, that ended badly. I don’t have the strongest voice, and my pitch, well, it’s on and off. I just have heart and adore Jesus.
I noticed my reaction, within myself , to Kim’s description of her keeping laser focus on Him, and He just laid out the steps, like it was a walk in the park, and yes, I was like, “ Oh, God, really? You just so sweetly and gently laid out those steps for Kim? “
I have tears streaming down my face because my path has had thorns, sharks, lions, lambs with razor sharp teeth, and my guts have been turned inside out. Won’t bore you with details, but those of you who have been led down this way, you know.
I read some angry comments about how, “easy” Kim has had it. I might have felt this way years ago. Envy is wicked master, dressed like a Holy man. I could relate to that prickly envy because I wanted to be on the stage singing powerful songs that touched people, just want to chime in. I had that dream too.
What is going through my head and heart now, as I literally have hot tears streaming down my face, is that our Jesus, our best friend, lover of our soul, the one we are ONE with forever, knows that the , “platform” would kill some of us. It would destroy our worship.
You know as a mother, there are some kids you keep close by and there are some you hold. There are some you don’t let far from your body, you keep them swaddled up next to your heart. Not because you don’t like them, but because your number one concern is that that they stay safe, and you don’t lose them. You know they need a little more tending to.
There are so many predators out there. Being on the stage makes you really vulnerable. How many throughout the years I have seen eaten up alive. Most of us know that true worship is what the enemy wants to steal from us. He has a special hate of praises to God.
I accept now, I will always be a David, out in the field , singing praises while I tend to sheep. Just me, the Holy Spirit, God’s angels and the sheep. At home , singing with KAPL, in my home, carrying the worship songs along with me to the store, or while I am writing. Or going to the bathroom, or cleaning, or a hundred other mundane human activities. Worship is what we do , everyday , all the time, with our hearts and minds. Not a , “concert”
I will never be a “superstar “ here. Concerts are wonderful and enjoy them, and it’s nice, but what matters, when the rubber meets the road, is personal worship in the storm, and if you are ready to praise when everything you love on earth is stripped away, or some terrifying thing suddenly happens. When we worship corporately we are practicing together to train our spirit to praise and war the enemy, the world and our flesh. We are learning to resist, to fight for our love.
I am so blessed by those called to lead worship publicly. I benefit from them, and pray for them. They have a challenging call. Each of us, is led in the Way, by the One who gave His life for us. You can trust it. If you feel cheated on not getting the position, the platform or the stage you desire, drop that.
Your perspective is narrow and small. Trust the One who sees far past and beyond what you can. God is protective of His children. He enjoys spending intimate time with us. A little girl, swinging and singing to Him, is more precious and worth far more than a slick entertainer, with millions of people cheering.
Kim is right. Worship is not performing, it’s the deepest flow of love between Husband and His bride, Oneness. God doesn’t get it wrong, but we do. Enjoy exactly where He has you, right now, today. It’s the sweet spot. Not the bench.

Some very important points are made in this post...beyond the theological disputes of women preachers and speaking in tongues:
    1. walking out the ministry God entrusts you to with HUMILITY
    2. being a SERVANT not only to God but to the people of God
    3. FAITHFULNESS in the measure of FAVOR you are given until God promotes you...etc. This is very timely for me. God Bless You.

to honor someone means to respect them, to not speak badly about them, to not gossip about them, to not disregard or disrepect what they say. But to bring all things that you disagree upon to the Lord and ask for his guidance and wisdom in it and how to approach it.

    * this is the same God that will use the rocks to cry out if we don't worship him. After all, it was Mary Magdalene that was the first person to see Jesus after he resurrected and was told to spread the good news! So a woman was the first to deliver the news that is still so relevant and brings joy now! How can a man live for God yet maintain the sexist attitude that believes one of God's creations is inferior to the other?

I have to say I also noticed that she did not make any reference to the bible scriptures, there is a part where she was saying about keeping her eyes on God, and the verse of Romans 8:37-39 came to my mind. I feel no matter how much satan tries to take us from our destiny in God he won't allow it. Eventhough there was little scripture reference, I did take some great things from her message, I backup sing and am learning to lead at my church so found her message quite helpful!! @sflblk Watchman Nee, in "The Release Of The Spirit" says that it is a measure of how mature you are, how much you can learn from the preaching of an immature believer.
And I must be really immature, because I really got a lot out of what she said, not because I am especially open, but because I found her experience really valuable. She is a woman and she is not trying to teach, she is just respectfully telling her story.
Plus the selections in the video were well chosen. Thank you @wp.

I completely understand what you say, and to some extent I agree. The gospel shouldnt be debated, its just our way of life.
There may be no proof, but that's why its called faith.Every time we try to understand God with logic, we totaly fail. Because God is love and logic doesnt comprehend love.

In this instance she is suggesting we honor those who in authority over us even if we do not agree. This directly relates to be able to submit to the authority that God has placed over you. If you are not able to submit to and honor your leaders, how can you submit to and honor God? It has to do with trusting that God is control and he puts those people in your path to teach you humility, submission and honor. I have had direct experience with this.

For the first nine chapters of Acts, there were 8,000 folks getting saved, innumerable folks getting healed, and one getting raised from the dead, all while thinking you had to be Jewish to be saved.
Today you would have folks calling them cultists, and yet God didn't seem to be bothered by that. God did fix the doctrinal error, but God was using them anyway.
