    NOT A SPOILER
    Not much is known about the worm that's the source of Titan powers in both anime and manga, it's been mostly left to the reader/viewer interpretation, so i can share what think without spoiling anything. I personally think it's supposed to be grounded in science, not spiritual/magical/alien powers, given what the worm was inspired by.
    The worm actually existed in our real world. It's an extinct species called Hallucigenia. Until new findings were made very recently, it was the most mysterious life form ever discovered. Scientists couldn't even agree where its front or back was, or what were the functions of any of its body parts, which leaves quite a lot for a sci-fi writer's interpretation of what it could've been and how would it interact with a human if it survived in a cave somewhere. What scientists did notice, was that it was lacking a mouth and sexual organs, so its means of reproduction and survival were unknown. - Giving birth to the idea that Hallucigenia would not be capable of replicating sexual and digestive organs for titans it's making I suppose, as it can't understand their purpose. Since it had to survive somehow, making it dependant on solar power and or/human body heat like a tree it was originally connected to seems like a clever idea. It also had to reproduce somehow, so scientists theorized it was perhaps a parasite that would try to enter a state of symbiosis with other organisms to spread around it's genes as they reproduce, though they had no idea what would it give in return for other organisms helping its genes spread around - imagining it as a mimicking parasite that would enlarge the hosts body to protect itself while using Eldians to spread around it's genes into a whole race of men is another clever idea from Isayama to fill up the gaps in actual science. The design behind titan powers isn't random. It's actually VERY well thought out.

      Just to be clear, this is your interpretation? Like, Isayama could have just saw the thing and was inspired by its appearance alone (heck, maybe he just designed something that ended up looking very similar to a real world prehistoric creature). Or is this in an article? Either way, I think it's a pretty cool.

    Now we've finally seen the true history. It was a mix of both Eldian and Marleyan truth. Ymir did build stuff, but she also destroyed and crushed a lot of things and people too. And her descendants then did the same as well. Time to play devil's advocate for a bit. A lot of people always seem to think the Marleyan-Eldian conflict happened 2000 years ago. While yes, that is correct that it began 2000 years ago, it only ended recently, about a hundred years ago. Meaning the Eldians basically subjugated and destroyed the world for 1900 years. The Marleyans who currently are alive probably had Grandparents or Great-Grandparents who were subject to the Eldian Empire. And the stories of fear and hatred were passed down. Which is why the world hates Eldians.
    In war, things usually end with both parties coming to an agreement to not cause further destruction. But Karl Fritz didn't do that. He decided he didn't want to be that guy and his response to his people causing 1900 years of suffering was basically, "Sorry about all that. Promise we won't do it again." But he also threatened them with the Rumbling, pushing that same fear and rage onto future generations, running from the conflict and wiping people's memories. Some people like to sit on a moral high horse, but if someone tormented your family, friends, and everyone you knew for 2000 years throughout multiple generations, and their only response was saying sorry, you probably wouldn't be like, "Oh. They were just in a silly goofy mood".
    That doesn't mean treating Eldia like how they were treated is right. And doing what happened to them to the rest of the world also isn't right. But the show brings up a few interesting themes. And one of those is becoming like your enemy. Hange noticed that she and the Government were becoming exactly like the same people they fought so hard to take down 4 years ago. People mistreat Marleyans and treat them like servants on the Island. Pixis notices that Yelena and the Jaegerists are putting armbands on people and isolating them like Marley did. And Marley became what Eldia once was. So the question arises. If you're so determined to defeat your enemy that you lose yourself and become exactly like them, do you still consider that to be a victory?

      Great and objectively truth of the AOT world. What I disagree with is that you said that the eldian and Marleyan conflict began with ymir. I dnt think it started then bit I do believe they had smaller skirmishes prior to ymir that only exasperated the conflict and swung it in eldia favour after ymir got the pwr.

    • @jawarafrazer8530
      @jawarafrazer8530 2 роки тому +3

      The earlier Eldian was probably based on our world Vikings and Marley probably based on Rome. And if AOT reflect our world.... everyone knows ancient Rome wasnt exactly paradigms of peace, civility and kindness nor were the Vikings. Two civilizations in an era defined by Conquest, bloodshed, slavery and so on.

    • @brianv9242
      @brianv9242 2 роки тому +1

      What it freedom to Eren? What is free will when your future is set in stone. When he kissed Hsitoria’s hand he saw the Rumbling happen before his eyes. He cried when he saw the villagers in Marley knowing he’d one day destroy them. Eren claims everything happened by his will alone and yet he was powerless to change his destiny. This is why I love this show, it brings up such a abstract themes about free will and destiny. Eren the embodiment of freedom, is ironically not free. Maybe he even knows it, remember back to when he beat up Armin. Armin told him “so this is the freedom you want? The freedom to hurt Mikasa? Who’s the real slave?” And you can see Eren visibly recoil, he gets defensive reflexively because he knows deep down he was powerless to stop his fate.

    When the hunters were chasing (Yumir) and then she fell, she was looking at a white flower
    This flower has (nine leaves), like the number of titans.
    And one of those leaves of the flower had a spot of blood on it, which is represented by (Eren), because he is the only titan who does not obey the king's orders and seeks freedom.
    And when the people pointed their finger at (Yumir )and accused her of being the perpetrator, she could not deny this because all of them had cut off their tongues, and she was kind-hearted, so she took this mistake herself.
    And the number of fingers she pointed to was (thirteen), like the number of years that the owner of the power of the giant lived.
    Lots of simple details but very wonderful for the story.❤❤

Something to clarify (if I was understanding correctly)...Ymir wasn't told to build the Colossal titans by the horrible king, but by the first king on the Island, as a deterrent when he brought them behind the walls. He had the walls built with the titans in them to keep the world at bay. The same king who vowed peace. Not the king who made her daughters eat her.
    Also, love that you guys openly say you choose Eren's plan over Zeke's. Zeke's plan is also genocide. Either way, it's awful. But Eren is just backed into a corner. The ENTIRE world wants to kill his people. It's the world or them. He's just choosing his own. It's horrific still. AND - there's more to come on why he makes the choice he does.
    One more thing -- the world was fearing The Rumbling because it's unstoppable lol. Good luck to them! Hahaha

      No, not the entire world. Hizuru are their allies and helped them in everything during these 4 years. Marley also made quite a lot of enemies for herself over 100 years of war and the possession of the power of the Titans, I think the Island would have had many allies if Eren had not started attacking in Liberio. In addition, there are a lot of ordinary civilians who do not want any war.

    "That thing" that made her into a titan has mentioned in the "OWL" episode "attack titan" episode and I think she's obeying the King bcoz she's a "good person" like what says in the book obeying things so people will love her or look at her as a good person like christa on the first episode living in lie bcos she's copying Ymirs story from the book before she revealed her true name

    I think that there's 13 years between Ymir getting the titan powers and her dying and that's why titan shifters have a 13 year "term"
    So if Ymir had not sacrificed herself titan shifters could have lived longer

    "The truth is there is no truth."
    - Eren Kruger
    I loved the fact that the origin of the titans isn't what the Eldians and Marleyans perceived it to be. Eldians says it was a gift from the gods, Marleyans says Ymir made a pact with the devil. But no, it's a Hallucigenia. A FUCKING PARASITE LOL. If you rewatch, Kruger and Mr. Ksaver said something in the lines of "It all started when she touched something...".
    I felt so sad seeing Ymir with her little bucket of water in the Paths ;(( and the little Reiss kids getting slaughtered by Grisha.

    Ymir loved the king so much and she thought how the king treat her was love too, but in the end the king still called her "slave", then she finally realize it wasn't love and lost the will to live, thus she died. but she lived basically her whole life as a slave so even after death she still serve the royal bloods, how sad

    Here are 2 facts that the people in the show didn't know but zeke and GHrisha:
    1- Eren Know the Future, so if he says that the only way to save his friends is killing everyone he has a point.
    2- Eren is doing all this, not because he wan't do it, he's doing this because he has to. Just like grisha did, when he gave to Eren the founder. They have the Attack Titan and that move them forward no matter what.

    If you think about it Ymir really is the one to blame for the terrible history and present war. Had all that power and she comes back to the king that was about to kill her? And then becomes a mass murder for him, has his kids and dies saving him? Lol kind of ridiculous writing. They don’t even show how or why she is so attached to him to commit those terrible things.

      No she’s really not she basically grew up a slave and didn’t know nothing but to obey the king it’s the stupid asz King to blame using and abusing that power and a example is her jumping in front of that spear saving him hoping for some type of validation or love and the trash king is the reason everything is still happening he wanted them to keep titans around 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️
